1900 Rube Waddell
The year he fought a tiger in the offseason
Hard to label a Hall of Famer as obscure.
Unless you've heard of his insane life story and absolutely incredible antics on the field (like chasing fire trucks and fighting fans) then he's incredibly obscure. Hardly ever talked about even though he was better than Cy Young when he wasn't fighting his teammates or drinking the fans' beers
I dont know much of any of that, I only know him as a HOF pitcher. It's why I mentioned him not being obscure. I will have to check into that stuff though, sounds wild.

If you don't know that stuff about him, you only have heard the name before...
He's the most insane story ever in sports -

1980 Joe Charboneau, Cleveland Indians. 1980 AL ROY.

I agree it's was an anomaly of a year for him but he's not a obscure name.

Vaughn was a monster and in no way an obscure name. 1996 may not have even been his best year. I argue that 1998 was his best year. 335 batting average, 40 homeruns,115 rbis in 7 less games then 1996. I agree on wanting a card for him though.

2000 blue jays Tony Bautista and his funky batting stance facing the pitcher
2006 john mcdonald, diamond defense, zero bat
-
1996 Mets Lance Johnson
-
2001 AS Rich Aurilia
2002 PS David Eckstein
2005 PS Juan Uribe
2006 PS David Eckstein -
1988 Rookie of the Year Chris Sabo. Not that the card would be anything special, I just want him and those goggles in the game.
-
1988 Darryl Strawberry
-
1993 Alex Cole
1990 Clint Zavaras -
1996 postseason Jim Leyritz.
-
We need a Jim Abbott card.
-
1986 Mark Eichhorn. Submarine reliever for the Jays, 9.5 K/9, WHIP 0.95, over 7 WAR, never came close to that again.
-
Rico Brogna from one of his 100 RBI Phillies years plus he would have gold glove fielding..... If not than Mike Lieberthal from his lone All Star year.. "hey ladies, I'm a all star"

If theres one thing to be learned from this thread, it's that quite a few people dont understand what obscure means.
I thought I was pushing it by including Kelly Gruber.
