I played a dude yesterday with a CAP with 99 speed that scored 2 of his 3 runs off a single, stealing 2nd, stealing 3rd and then suicide squeeze

That's not really cheese and is on you for letting that happen.

Two out suicide squeezes with 2 strikes isn't cheese? Those were the only times it worked. He did it 5 or 6 times throughout.

I pitched out and he was dead to rights. I obviously shouldn't have allowed it to happen multiple times. I'm not the best player, but it is what it is.

Bruh, 2 out isn’t a suicide squeeze. Just throw the go out at first.

I only “bunt dance” or hold r2 if they do something cheesy or cheap. It’s basically signaling, you did something scummy. And it’s only for one at bat or pitch. ( like having a CAP pitcher with Darren o day motion lolol. ) I haven’t ran in to too many bunt cheesers, but I have ran into pause every 2 second guys. If you pause to take a leak or look at pitches on pitching change so be it, but not every other pitch.

Putting starters in as relievers is not cheesing. Is it crappy? Sure but it’s not different than using the best gun in the game all the time in a FPS. It could be a little like using odd job in goldeneye tho lolol

by suicide squeeze I mean stealing home prior to bunting. Obviously had my fielders made the play it would not have worked. But one was a bunt hit and the other was an error by my 2nd baseman.

The game does have an issue with bunt defense towards second base. It’s animation / logic concern.

Maybe cheese wasn't the right term. But its really annoying to give up 4 hits an entire game and have the opponent constantly attempt to bunt and score almost all of their runs through bunting.

For future reference if you know or think he's likely to bunt pitch him high and inside or just high if you are concerned about hitting him. If he's bunting at your second baseman make sure to shift the second baseman (by himself) in don't play bunt defense.

And any time a 99 speed guy is on slide step. If he steals frequently fastball outside you don't have to pitchout.

Thanks for the advice, and there are definitely things I will change the next time I see that. I only just started playing online, so I'm somewhat new to this sort of thing.

It happens unfortunately because not everyone is interested in a fun game. For some it's win at all costs and you just need to know how to counter it. It's annoying but when you know it's coming they are just giving away free quick outs.

You do realize that bunt defense is very flawed in this game right? You can play your defense as close as you can and not get an out

I see people say this on here but it has not been my experience personally. If someone comes up with Juan Pierre or someone similar and tries to bunt first at bat then I immediately pause and go through their lineup and put bunt defense on all players that are dangerous bunters. After that it’s rare that a player bunting reached base. I’d say 9 out of 10 are outs.

It's tough to cheese in a baseball game... but I guess it's every online game.
I don't agree that using starters in relief is cheese. There's no decent middle releivers in the game and if I have to take out a starter in the 1st inning the releivers aren't even enough to get me through the game. MLB teams will use spit starters and starters in long relief.

The idea that stealing second then third then squeezing is NOT cheese is pretty flawed. Sure, there are counters, but the tagging animations are too slow and sometimes don’t work at all. Your catcher can have the ball standing at home plate and the runner can still be called safe, and to throw out one of these players requires a perfect storm of outcomes to happen.

It is cheese because it is exploiting flaws in the game. If you don’t think that is cheese, guess what, you’re probably a cheeser.

That's true, but I don't recall watching them steal home multiple times, or having Mike Moustakas or Eric Hosmer up there bunting.
