I have just reached the point I was in my last franchise. which means I am going to start playing every game again instead of quick managing. At your request when I log in later tonight to play a game, I will do a standings update.

First off let me say thank you for being possibly the only person who follows this. If there are others. Thank you as well.
NOTE: I saw the Cubs tradetraded Merrifield at the deadline. There were other trades but they didnt seem as big as this one.
Below are standings updates for august 10th.
AL East: My Red Sox are tied atop the division with the Yankees both at 70-48. The Ray's are hanging around 6 games back. Blue Jay's a long shot at 10 games back. Orioles very much out 30 games back.
AL Central: Twins lead 72-48. White Sox in second 11 games back. Indians, 14 games Royals 17 games and Tigers 28 games back.
AL West: Astros lead 76-41. Rangers second 14 games back. Athletes 17 games, Angels 25 and Mariners 29 games back.
AL Wild Card: Red Sox or Yankees & Ray's take the top 2 spots. Rangers, White Sox, Blue Jay's, Athletics, Indians, Royals in striking distance under 10 games back.
NL East: Mets lead 70-48. Braves .5 games back. Phillies 11 games, Nationals 14 games & Marlins 15 games back.
NL Central: Cubs lead 71-48. Cardinals 12 games back. Reds 15 games. Brewers 19 games & Pirates 23 games back.
NL West:Dodgers lead 82-38. Diamondbacks 10 games back. Padres 19 games, Giants 40 games and Rockies 41 games back.
NL Wild Card: Diamondbacks & Braves take the top spots with only the Padres hanging around less than 10 games back.
With what appears to be 49 days left in the season no teams are technically eliminated yet though there are several real long shots and a lot of clear cut contenders. From here on out I will continue updates on my team along with elimination and play off clenches from around the leauge.

This is all some great work. Very impressive how realistic you are making it. Pains me to see my Phils not doing so hot.

I know that one guy up there said no one cares, but I actually enjoy keeping up with your franchise updates

Thank you. At the beginning of this I was mostly doing it for myself and because I remember a few years ago people posted stuff like this all the time. I use to enjoy reading them. Idk why people stopped doing them but I miss it. Glad to know its not just me.
Also I'd love to know how all of you are doing in your franchises as well?

No problem man. I actually have a franchise I started in 2016 still going on. Year 2028, I’m using the tribe. Literal best offense in the league along with subpar pitching for it. But since I’ve been playing we’ve one 2 championships, and last season we had the MVP

That's awesome man. Keep me updated!
August 12th Update:
MRP Barnes sent to minors (really struggling with a 7.53 era)
SP Mata called up
-
August 14th Update:
CP Workman to IL with Broken Foot.
CP Graterol called up.
-
August 17th Update:
SS Aruaz to IL Shoulder Separation.
2B Downs called up.
-
Rockies gotta be 5th in offense, 30th in pitching.

If I remember I'll look that up next time I'm on.

Here's a little poll:
Those of you who follow this thread know that at the trade deadline I made a 3 team deal with the Dodgers & Pirates. in that trade one of the pieces I got was Joc Pederson. At first I viewed Pederson as a rental. My plan going into 2021 was to use Senzel (who I picked up from the Reds mid July) to fill in the vacant outfield spot in Center and move Benintendi back to left with Downs taking over at second. However Senzel is really struggling and I'm starting to view him as a super utility Brock Holt style player. Pederson on the other hand has almost single handedly kept me in contention hitting .345 with 10 home runs and 26 rbis since the deadline. I'm starting to view him as less of a rental and more of a potential long term answer in left field. I could lock him into somewhere around a 5 year deal at around 50.00M. He's definitely my best in house option and looks to be the 3rd best outfielder in the free agent pool behind Betts and Martinez (neither of whom I plan on trying to resign) so my question to you guys is.
Do I lock Pederson up now? Or do I wait and see what the off season has to offer?

I feel like for someone like Joc, who even though he’s been crushing for you, more of a platoon player, 5 years might be a little over kill. I’d think maybe a 2-3 year deal for someone like him? And if he continues to shine you can always ship him off for some prospects if you struggle next season

Good thing to consider. Thank you

This used to be a thing up until a few years ago. Some guys made these REALLY in depth franchise threads. A lot more in depth than I am doing actually. I honestly don't know why they stopped. but I've missed reading them the last few years. So you could call this my silly little attempt to bring them back. I know some guys do YouTube franchises but I enjoyed the reading ones.
-
You should do Youtube. You could be the one that brings this back. Seems like you enjoy it enough.

I've thought about this. I work in film so I definitely have the knowledge and technology. I'm going to do a little more research on this. If anything I'll research what some of the other YouTubeers do and start this next year on 2021. Gives me some time to get it right. I'll keep you all posted. I appreciate the support guys!
