You notice how no one cares?
Could really care less who cares and who doesn't. I'm doing it for 2 reasons.
For my own records.
Because I miss when people use to do this. If no one cares that's fine. They don't have to read.
As a Sox fan I've had a tough weekend watching this dude go yard time and time again. Yet I can't help but think that my grandma (who was a Yankees fan I watched many rivalry games with until she passed in 07) would have loved him. The things he is doing are very impressive and he does some stand up things off the field. Not since Jeter has there been a player in pinstripes I've both hated and respected at the same time this much.
I have returned. Apparently people enjoyed following my previous franchise threads. (Though some didn't care.) So I've decided to give it one more go. I've been in an out of franchises this year. It was hard to get into it without real baseball. Now that we are back. I am giving it one more go. I love the Red Sox, but let's face it. They are in a rebuild. At least with pitching.
You guys deserve better than me so let's try this one more time. Franchise start with the latest ridinroster. Ill provide at least monthly updates as I sim the first 102. Ill edit the comments I've made here first before starting new comments. More to come as I rebuild my beloved sox.
I'll start this off by saying I have not played much road to the show. I'm more of a franchise guy. But I have dabbled a little with road to the show over the years and really enjoy the mode. An idea just popped into my head. Now with full minors at launch (I'm assuming they will have this next year as well) how would people like an option when you create your road to the show where you can choose to lock on to a existing minor leaguer and take over their career? Obviously still have the option to create a player as is the current standard. but I do think locking onto a top prospect and shape their career or even a mid to lower level guy and fight to get to the MLB.
Note: I know you can do this in franchise with the player lock feature. I still think it would be cool in RTTS with the story narrations and such.

I’m actually starting to enjoy following this. You haven’t updates the standings though.
First off let me say thank you for being possibly the only person who follows this. If there are others. Thank you as well.
NOTE: I saw the Cubs tradetraded Merrifield at the deadline. There were other trades but they didnt seem as big as this one.
Below are standings updates for august 10th.
AL East: My Red Sox are tied atop the division with the Yankees both at 70-48. The Ray's are hanging around 6 games back. Blue Jay's a long shot at 10 games back. Orioles very much out 30 games back.
AL Central: Twins lead 72-48. White Sox in second 11 games back. Indians, 14 games Royals 17 games and Tigers 28 games back.
AL West: Astros lead 76-41. Rangers second 14 games back. Athletes 17 games, Angels 25 and Mariners 29 games back.
AL Wild Card: Red Sox or Yankees & Ray's take the top 2 spots. Rangers, White Sox, Blue Jay's, Athletics, Indians, Royals in striking distance under 10 games back.
NL East: Mets lead 70-48. Braves .5 games back. Phillies 11 games, Nationals 14 games & Marlins 15 games back.
NL Central: Cubs lead 71-48. Cardinals 12 games back. Reds 15 games. Brewers 19 games & Pirates 23 games back.
NL West:Dodgers lead 82-38. Diamondbacks 10 games back. Padres 19 games, Giants 40 games and Rockies 41 games back.
NL Wild Card: Diamondbacks & Braves take the top spots with only the Padres hanging around less than 10 games back.
With what appears to be 49 days left in the season no teams are technically eliminated yet though there are several real long shots and a lot of clear cut contenders. From here on out I will continue updates on my team along with elimination and play off clenches from around the leauge.
When in doubt always go with the favorite team
For number 5 you'd have to play an older version of the game. I think 16 or 17 was the last to feature a taste of this?
Unfortunately I don't think it'll ever happen cuz of the licensing agreement. Which I think is stupid. I mean its part of the game and does make it more authentic. I've played several sox vs yankee games over the last few years where players were thrown at/hit and im just sitting here like this needs to get more heated. Oh well
So I may be wishing on stars here but I hope now that realistic minor league rosters is included in the game and not just though the vault. That SDS eventually adds full high and low A teams (even if they aren't playable. So we have a full 130 man roster as opposed to the 90 man we have now. I doubt we will see this in 21. I'm also somewhat skeptical we will ever see it due to the fact franchise gets overlooked alot. But I hope maybe one day. Does anyone else want this or is it just me?
As a red sox fan I gotta say Bogaerts. He really is the heart and soul of the team now.
That left fielder on the White Sox Elroy is super impressive also. I plan on trying to work out a trade for him at some point in my franchise.
I've been playing the show since 09. Usually I wait for osfm then start my franchise with the red sox. Play along with the season making the same or similar trades as they do throughout the season and see how I stack up with them as I play the games. Then I get into making my own choices and front office moves in the off season going into year 2. From there I obviously make all choices in my franchise.
With this years game 2 things are different. 1 we have full minors day one. And 2 the coronavirus has delayed the real regular season. As such I decided that this year I would make choices for my franchise day one instead of following along with the regular season. If I had to wait til the season starts with the delay to play franchise I'd go crazy.
The first thing I did (which I've never done before) is alter my roster before entering franchise mode. The first and only thing I did to alter my roster is add free agent Puig to my roster. I then started franchise mode. Mid spring I immediately flipped Puig and a couple minor leaguers to SD for Wil Myers and a couple pitching prospects mirroring the trades that were discussed a month or so ago that never actually took place.
It definitely feels weird to be making moves freely this early on in the game but it also feels fun to make my own choices early on.
Anyway the experience has got me wondering how do you all play franchise? Do you follow along with your teams season or do you start making your own choices and moves from day one? Do you play with a default or downloaded roster? Do you alter your roster at all before entering franchise mode? I'm interested to see how everyone plays. Happy playing everyone.
I find it to be a decent mode for recording videos for YouTube. But as far as actually playing the mode to grind in the game or get xp I find it meh
It's in the game. Confirmed in the switch trailer that shows the menu screen. But probably untouched otherwise.
The games home screen was featured briefly in the switch trailer and it looks like there is indeed still a franchise mode. Though I doubt we will get any good upgrades as there is no feature premiere for the mode. I think like you said it may be mixed in with the March to October stream. At least I hope.
There's a long list of things I'd like to see. A big one for me would be adding all the high and low A roster spots. To clarify I don't need the teams playable (I've seen people shoot this want down because of added statiums and game space for playable games.) I just want the roster spots. Keep only MLB, AAA and AA playable. But instead of only 15 men in reserve (92 total) give me full high and low A squads in reserves (130 total) I know that's a lot of players to have in reserves but just imagine what the people who do the full minors roster could do with that.
I also echo the downloadable draft class would be awesome.
3 team trades and or trade for cash. Although with trade logic I think the CPU would drastically mess this up.
This one is a minor nit pick. But ill ride this train forever. Ability to edit face scanned players hair and facial hair. Example in real life last year Joey Gallo gets traded to NYY yet in my franchise he did not. So SDS removes facial hair. So now in franchise he's just clean shaven on the Rangers. Likewise let's say Bryce Harper gets trades to NYY in fictional franchise. Now he's on NYY with a beard and nothing i can do about it. Again minor nitpic but I want it.
I know we can't do fights anymore (sadly) but some more or different frustration animations would be nice.
Finally the ability to have at least some input on customizing your schedule would be nice. Nothing to drastically I'd be happy even with being able to pick the interleauge teams you face.
There probably more but that's what I got for now
Update: I just finished combing through all free agents and moving the real minor league players back to their teams. Once Ridin V3 is out tomorrow. I'm gonna do a mass import of prospects from that roster to get rid if the remaining fake players on teams rosters. After this I have a little more to do then ill have an update on everything I did and hopefully the rosters will be in the vault sometime this weekend
So I have been trying to start a franchise all month of June. However I'm so nit picky about things I want to do an opening day roster. However every opening day roster I find has "Fake" Shogo on the Reds. Even though I don't play as the Reds this bugged me. I finally found a opening day roster with real Shogo However there were fake A ball players.
Im finally breaking down and building my own roster. I will be using the opening day roster I found as a base. I'll be going over the FA with a fine tooth comb and finding the real players to put back on their teams. I will then use Ridin Rosters to import other real players on to teams and in FA.
Obviously there will be small mishaps. For example Jay Bruce and Hector Rendon who were on opening day roster won't be there.
I will do my best to eliminate all fake and double players.
Thus will take some time. However I think its the only way I'll be happy with my franchise.
I'll upload when I'm done. If anyone Is interested. Also if anyone has some suggestions of other rosters to reference please let me know
I was toying with the idea of doing a franchise thread. However I feel that may be pointless. However last year I did have requests to start streaming a franchise. So I will do that. I'm working on some what of an opening day roster. So that it's a somewhat accurate start. Then I'll start streaming the franchise. (I won't streaming every game, however I'll provide updates of the games played off stream at the beginning of each stream) if you'd like to keep up with the stream please follow BlackEagle2407 on Twitch for the live streams and on YouTube for the archive replays. Hopefully starting the stream on Sunday. Happy Playing Gamers.
That feature is gone this year to my understanding. Because of next gen. Hopefully back next year

Welcome to the struggle my friend
I've been pushing this for years. Really ever since I believe it was Dustin Ackley (I probably spelled that wrong) was on their team
