Stop pausing after every pitch!
-
Yesterday I was playing someone in ranked seasons. I was beating them 4-1. After every batter, they would pause for about 20 seconds or more. It drove me INSANE. If I had been losing, I would have quit right there. Thankfully, this guy was dumb enough to leave it paused long enough for the pause time to run out.
-
I had someone do that to me a few weeks ago. They were doing it while they were winning 1-0 though and messed up by pausing too many times and took a forfeit loss. Too bad for them because I was facing a pitcher I don't hit well. They may have won it 1-0 had they not been a jackwagon.

I cant hit as it is but adding in the pauses it makes online very unenjoyable

I'm sure you'll get responses saying "stop whining" and "it's part of the game" since many posters here are in fact cheaters.

I'm not that person. But perhaps they are sick of the same thing I am .... people who play the game like they are on speed. No wind up. No time between pitches, mostly when THEY are pitching. When THEY are pitching, you are supposed to just shut the [censored] up and get up there and make outs.
That's not baseball. That's [censored].
A reasonable middle ground would be fine. Balks should be penalized online, in other words. I'm sure almost no one will agree with me.

I’ve called for balks for years. But only if we get rid of the ability to hold R2. The pause timer is excessive in this game and they need a set amount of time, not the more time you use per inning the more they give you back the next inning. Get rid of the excessive pausing penalty, but give a set amount of time at the beginning of the game even if it’s different for 3,6,9 inning games.

With baseball trying to quicken the pace of play, The Show should follow suit and start limiting pauses or drastically reduce the pause timer.
Ha! Great idea!

The worst is when people used to hold R2 before every pitch and pause everytime they got a hit too. [censored] was annoying.

Agreed. I hold R2 only to either look at the card, the previous pitches, or to see a pitchers stamina/confidence. Some people hold it the whole time. I had that happen yesterday. I would select my pitch, then have to wait 4 seconds to wind up.

I hold R2 to check the pitcher's pitches, confidence, and stamina.

This is cheating, pure and simple.

I didn't have to be Nostradamus to make this prediction. Sure enough, the cheating defenders are out in full force.

its not cheating... pausing doesnt give him a unfair advantage.
It's annoyance and unsportsmanlike.
But thats the way Online Play is everywhere. People try to annoy the shyte out of you to get a win. -

Also, if you get a big hit, and are probably going to win, they will intentionally hit you. That also makes me want to quit.

I take that free base and pinch run with my fastest runner...

I will say this. I only hold R2 against Pace addicted Manfredites, who think you should throw 7 pitches a second and don't want to give the batter any time to comprehend the situation. Slow down and I won't have to do this
