In a 3-3 game in the 6th inning i get under a routine flyball with ty cobb and he literally gets into an animation where he lets the ball drop. Like i can't move him at all. I've never [censored] happen in any show game. I dropped from 840 to 760. This game is [censored] trash. I'm so glad I have other games to play cause Otherwise I'd be more upset. 20 is terrible. Mlb 11 on the psp was a better game and it had no multiplayer.

I had this same problem. Have lost at least 5 games because of it.

With regard to fielding, even the best fielders make mistakes at times. Perhaps the animation does not PERFECTLY capture what happens, but I was not asking for perfection in this game. I live in the real world.

With regard to hitting, you sure as hell can have some degree of control. Take it. Go to practice mode. Play directional hitting, moving the left stick. Try holding the stick up-and-to-Left field (Rightie hitter) for power hitters, and up-and-to-right field for more balanced hitters. Use the circle button strategically. Look for inside heat when trying to pull, look for outside pitches when trying to go the opposite way.

I have done it many times. If you do it well, it works. Not every time; a realistic amount of time.

Actually play the game instead of complaining.

are you mixing in slurve and cutter? Cutter blows up the timing window and his slurve, or Imo, slurve is a very hard pitch to hit

Yeah, I've tried pitching in a realistic manner where I'm using all of his pitches. Biggest problem I find with this is that pitches on the black are balls 90% of the time which allows players to simply sit middle and wait on a hanger and guys like Kluber who don't throw anything hard are easy to smash when you hang a pitch, and we all know pitches hang way too much.
I've tried spamming the sinker all over the zone and it's hit hard, even when mixing in the cutter or the slurve for the same reason mentioned above.

But what about pitching? Pitching takes away player control and makes it about a mathematical calculation and dice role rather than player skill.

I would say my good-good hit rate is below 50%

Seemed like there was more hit variety that first week for sure. Also, was able to get runners from first to third on base hits and scoring from first on doubles a lot easier. I still see this, just not nearly as much. Four consecutive singles or a homer seem to be the way to score now.

Ha, I noticed it when you first posted, just didn't feel like commenting. I know that must have been a frustrating game.

I didn't comment the first time because IDK what to say, to me hitting is better, I am getting more rewarded, but I can't really "convince" you ya know? We all have our own experiences and opinions.

I find these types of games to be so boring. I can’t imagine anyone would find them to be entertaining. Give me a 8-7 nine inning game all day...

I played 5 to 6 games and made it to 823 on a 5 game win streak and beat a guy that was 45 and 15 only to get one hit by kluber. I'm so thankful that i was able to make cs again cause i quit in the 5th inning against kluber and didn't care about playing another game. Why do you think so? I think it’s improved quite a bit besides the 1-2 glitched fielding errors a game. Better than the 4-5 from before.

Nothing has changed. They claim they patched the fielding and the HR display glitch weeks ago but neither was true. There's now a glitch where the ball appears to trail away from the catcher, like a passed ball, but the catcher picks it up at his feet despite visually it strolling many feet away. The game as a whole is just am inconsistent mess and I dont see SDS fixing a [censored] thing for the remainder of the year.

I know it's annoying but if you allow the home run hitter to cross home plate and not skip it that will solve the banner problem. I'm not talking about hitting L2 and watching the replay just let the runners cross the plate and give each other high-fives and the banner will not be there for the next batter. Honestly I think the Fielding has been much better. I haven't noticed the catcher glitch you are talking about but I have noticed on a swinging strike three where it appears that I tip the ball and instead of me having another shot at the plate the catcher acts like it's a dropped third strike and throws you out at first base

This year my favorite has been juan pierre for sure, loved the marlins beating the yanks in the ws. Pudge is another favorite and was really pumped to get the evo card right off the top.
Ive been raking with torres this year and silver eloy Jimenez for some reason and i feel every hit with fotf olson is a bomb!
And every year they have them i will always get vida blue and sean doolittle. Wish they had more great A's pitchers from the past but those 2 are always my favorite. Waiting for a zito with a wicked 12-6 hook.

One of my earlier posts from today was removed because of people either going at each other in the comments or someone flagging my post for being a rant about the game so I want to make an apology for speaking my mind. I don't really know why it was removed but I'm sorry for talking about how i felt today after playing ranked seasons and saying that i won't be playing this game anymore for the rest of the year unless someone can teach me the ways of the force. custom leagues are the only mode i can stand right now because of the all time high level of SDS RNG. but that's only because we've built a great group of players so far.

the same poor logic, poor hitting results, random unnecessary BS happens though. there's not a league game I've played so far that didn't have me feeling like this year's game is the least user influenced version yet.

pitchers seem to magically start missing attend the 6th inning, despite perfect pitch timing. then of course, the errors or glitches kick in. and we know how it goes from there.

overall the game is in a bad state, regardless of the online format you're playing.

People like to bash Shippett, but the truth is if you're looking to get rewarded for good input, Shippett is your best option. Of course, you will also get rewarded for bad input at Shippett too.

I use Shippett as my Jays home stadium in Spring Training for like the past 4 years.

Why do you like it?

Cause its the closest to their actual Spring Training park in The Show.

If anyone manages to lose to me, then they just plain suck at this game. There's no such thing as RNG that's advanced enough to cancel out my hilariously bad plate discipline.

I am totally OK with fielding being wonky when you start putting players like Joey Gallo in CF and Kyle Schwarber at C and there's really no penalty. If the way they compensate for lower defensive metrics is by having hte occasional egregious error on a hard hit ball, then so be it. THat is the way the engine compensates for a hitter who squared up a ball as well. But if Diamond Nolan Arenado starts making fielding errors on routine groundballs on rolled over curves, then I have a problem with it

I went down 5-0 and ended up winning 9-7. It felt like only perfect perfect was a hit for my opponent and myself. I almost quit because it was pissing me off. Good good out, good squared out. But I played through it

I am honestly sick of these crappy minor league parks. Especially Shippet. Thank God for a new generation console coming out next year. Maybe these consoles can actually handle the graphics developers present them.

It wouldn't be so bad if there weren't so many animated fans.
