Yes, it is amazing that they could screw it up this badly, with all their prior experience on trying to make the game playable in online H2H. I wonder if it has to do with them expanding to XBox and having cross-platform play between X-Box and PS. As it stands, I can not imagine getting MLB 2022. Even if I got it for zero dollars, it would not be worth the effort if is going to be this much of a piece of trash!! I think I am going back to racing games which was my original interest!

If SDS can not stop this from happening, I am very seriously considering never giving them a single cent going forward. My latest experience was in a 0-0 game in the bottom of the 6th. I capped a 2-out rally with an apparent 3 run homer (Wander Franco, total stud), and was dashboarded. When I messaged the opponent to complain, they first insinuated that I had no right to message them to complain. Then they (he/she/whatever) had the gall to tell me to chill out because it's just a video game. Well, if that's the case, why the compulsion to dashboard??? Just let the ball land and quit.Or are they just making a pathetic attempt to minimize their ERA!!??

Anything would be better than the current pitiful excuse for a video game. The only thing they have going for them is that you can obtain all kinds of God-Squad cards without spending real money and also not having to invest too ridiculous of an amount of time (unlike the Immortals programs in 2018). BUT if it is going to play this badly, then what is the point!!??

You know, being a Giants fan, it was very exciting most of the year until it was obvious they had no chance at the playoffs.

Man, the Blue Jays have some excellent young players, if they can hold on to them and make better pitching decisions late in the game, you guys should be contenders for quite a while. Being an older fan I would be totally stoked about that.

I am also an 'older fan' and was there cheering hard when the Jays won the back to back titles in '92 and '93. I literally had tears in my eyes in '92 when they clinched in game 6. The '93 win was like a bonus, but man that 1-5 in the batting order was awesome that year. Well then they had a long drought and a couple ALCS appearances in '15 and '16, both lost to what I feel were inferior teams. Now the past 3 years has been frustrating but maybe we are on the edge of something. Like you said, keep that young core in place and sprinkle in some key veterans and somehow shore up that bullpen.

So I just had a game where I realized that Rusty Valentine is both a white guy AND a black guy and has the supernatural ability to umpire both 1B and 3B in the same instant. Seriously!!?? Then there is the famous Chris Singleton comment "some kind of hit and run OR run and hit". Can anyone tell me the difference between those?? Please give me back Plesac and Vasgersian. This is a pathetic abomination excuse for commentary!! I guess I should just turn it off.

yeah hitting in ranked seasons right now is absolutely ridiculous.

There are 2 different issues going on here. One is quitting prematurely when you go down 1-2 runs. The other more egregious behavior is dashboarding to literally steal away the other player's hits (almost exclusively a home run). The former seems just a personal choice and the other player gets the win and moves on. The latter is literally THEFT, even though the injured party still gets the win. There needs to be a stop to dashboarding once and for all. The rest is just poor sportsmanship and you need to deal with it.

I think you are new to this game so you did not have to deal with the abomination that was the Ryan Feierabend card back in (I think it was) The Show 2019. Knuckleballs and bunting should both be kept out of this game. They add nothing but cheese (I don't care if they exist in real baseball - this is a video game, not real baseball).

Well like I said, this outfit is owned by the Sony Corporation, unlike EA sports or some other specialty company that only develops and sell video games. Sony is a monster and don't need the cash.

ETA: what they really need to do is fix their issues with being able to manufacture enough PS5 units to supply the market. That is a real embarrassment on their part.

I am still on The Show 2021 (going to upgrade soon), but I will say Wander Franco is amazing. I still have to go with Joe Morgan. His hitting is elite (contact and power), his baserunning is elite, and his defense is off the charts!

I can't recall seeing a bad thing said against him by anyone (other that his teams kept coming up short). Well deserved for a classy guy!!

After just having 5 garbage Ranked Seasons games in which the other guys got all kinds of breaks, and I seemed to get next to nothing (playing on MLB '21), I am really thinking WTF is the point of even grinding to put a team together in the newer version. This game is a total garbage heap year after year. Well I only paid $15 with tax and shipping but it just is not worth the time and frustration anymore. TOTAL TRASH!!

That could be half the online community. I played a guy yesterday in events that the leadoff guy got on took the big lead, then when I tried to pick him off called time out. Immediately went to the big lead, I tried again, and he paused for almost the entire clock. My starter seemed to have control problems, and I walked the next batter.

Again he takes the big leadoff, and the pause stuff begins. I eventually picked both runners off because he kept pushing his lead. I finally come to bat in the bottom of the inning, he walks my leadoff batter, throws over three straight times despite me not taking a lead, beans the bases loaded (but got no warning), and I eventually got one run out of it. If I was a better hitter he would have been toast.

I held him down the next inning and again he beaned me a couple of times with no warning from the umpire. Unfortunately, he popped a couple of homers on me, highlight reeled them both, so I beaned his next hitter and I got the warning. WTF.

Anyway, I ended up losing to a guy who was angry because I stopped him from trying to cheese on me.(he tried bunt cheese several times during the game too). I really wish SDS would monitor their online play and banish the cheesers, aka cheating exploiters to their own division where they could ply their dirty tactics on each other all day long while normal humans could play and enjoy the game in peace.

I keep thinking that if you just rely on nonsense and manipulating 'animation glitches' or whatever, then what is the point!! Why not switch to a different video game where you actually have some ability (or chance) to win the game the way it is SUPPOSED to be played. It's called baseball, not buntball for a reason. Like they always teach the youngsters: 'be a hitter'!

I wish they would make it possible to separate the player stats from H2Hv online and versus CPU.

They did Mauer two years in a row so Ohtani could be it in a new uniform. (hopefully not, one can hope) They've never done a pitcher. Strider would be cool, but not with Acuna on the same team. I like Acuna for it. He's hot right now. Will probably win MVP. Good looking enough to put on the cover. Don Mossi would never make it.

Trout would make the fourth Angel, but his year has not been very good. (for him)

I think the most fun would Be Vlad Jr and Sr, back to back, swinging for the fences. The Angels and Blue Jays alternate uniforms would contrast very nicely.

If they do Acuna Jr or Vlad Jr they could do a family theme next year, instead of bosses it might be something like fathers (Dante, Vlad, Tatis etc) theres a lot of 2nd generation players playing right now.

I don't even think they'd have to be current, father/son, or MLB. Yastremski, Hunter, and Gwynn would all be awesome. Plus, I'm sure there are even more I don't know.

Call it the Family Tree Edition or program. Bigger than the father's day program at least. Like one season this year with two programs, you could have Senior Cards like Yaz, Torii Hunter Sr, and Dante Bichette. Then a Junior Card like Mike Yastremski, Torii Hunter Jr, and Bo Bichette.

Good point about Carl Yastremski - highly overdue to be added to this game (along with Dimaggio and Koufax).

Guidry (CY 99 ovr) going for 12-25k stubs
Albies (2020 PS, 98 ovr) going for 10 -20k stubs
Trea Turner (Topps Now 99 ovr) at 10-22k stubs - speed to burn so a good bench guy for pinch running if nothing else

not under 40k but Griffey (MVP 99 ovr) is going for 143-180k stubs - very good player for the price considering how many are sitting there with 1 million buy offers waiting to be accepted
