Bring back the historic Oakland Coliseum

@Sarge1387_PSN said in Bring back the historic Oakland Coliseum:

While I can respect your desire to have it back in the game...there's about a dozen other stadiums that should make an appearance before any others get re-added.

    Tiger Stadium
    Ebbett's Field
    Three Rivers
    Veterans
    Olympic Stadium
    Milwaukee County
    Fulton County
    LA Wrigley Field
    (Personal request) LA Coliseum

    to name a few.

That's right. I'd love to see those stadiums as well.

  • totopapa_82_PSNT totopapa_82_PSN

The Oakland Coliseum deserves to return as a classic stadium in this game.
It’s a ballpark where so much history was written and we can’t just let it disappear.
If The Show devs happen to see this, please bring the Coliseum back as a classic stadium maybe next year.

Although you are correct that you are able to do this… you are unable to do it once inside the franchise save file.

You would have to do that prior to starting your franchise under a separate roster save. Which would mean you couldn’t use Default Rosters with Injures.

I have tried what you’re talking about and it’s not an option inside a franchise save file. This would also solve the problem though!

Oh right, I misunderstood. I forgot it was the "default roster with injuries'.

  • Franchise mode deserves more attention
  • totopapa_82_PSNT totopapa_82_PSN

@victoryphoenix_MLBTS said in Franchise mode deserves more attention:

I play franchise mode almost exclusively; now I'm going to say, Why is it that every other mode has rewards programs other than franchise? I never simulate any games, throw every pitch, or take every bat swing for my team. So playing 162 games then the post season, should get me more than 2500 xp per game, I have never purchased stubs, but other than doing the bare minimum to get icons and batters in Team Affinity, I just don't do Diamond Dynasty. Franchise mode is so much more the 'being a GM' It's managing, playing, and Being A GM. I would love to see the following changes to franchise mode.

XP rewards for playing (not swimming) games: 200,000 for 81 games, 500,000 for the entire season, and the same in team affinity points.

Bring back the sounds of the show. For those who used them, it really helped us create an immersive world.

Fix Stadium Creator adds to the immersive world and allows franchise players to create stadiums for their MLB, AAA, and AA teams.

Allow for configuration for franchise mode, stop the two throws to a base rule, as well as DH, extra runner, pitch clock that are already in the game.

Fix the audio for those who play with no DH to hear; it's surprising they are using a pitcher off the bench; they must be saving their position players for later. Is frustrating

Lastly and most importantly, make franchise files transferrable from year to year like they used to be.

DH and the extra innings runner are already available as options. I love to play with classic rosters, and really wish the pitch clock and pickoff limits could be turned off as well.

  • Audio problem for edited player names
  • totopapa_82_PSNT totopapa_82_PSN

@TheSimplications_PSN said in Audio problem for edited player names:

I have started a franchise using default rosters with injuries (which is a feature I love). Only problem is I am unable to edit the rosters prior to starting the franchise. I typically like to create players (like a younger version of myself) and place them on my team’s roster for a little bit of fun. For me, it’s kinda like having RTTS and franchise all in one game mode.

Because I am unable to import or create players with default rosters, I must resort to editing players already on the team’s roster.

BUG/ISSUE: after editing a default player to my “created player” (including the name WITH matching audio), the PA and broadcast announcers still use the audio track or lack of audio associated with the original player. Keep in mind the graphics and all displays show the edited name, only the original audio for THAT specific player remains in game. Audio changes do not carry over.

I did do this last year and had no issues. I won’t hold my breath for a change here, but it is something that has never happened in the past. I even did this prior to last year and whatever I edited was reflected in game play to include audio. Seems like the audio change is not being relayed to game play.

It’s possible that I’m misunderstanding something, but as far as I know, you can import or create players on the default roster. If you load the default roster from File Management, then add the players you want—either by importing or creating them—and save that roster, you should be able to start a Franchise using that modified roster. Is there something I’m missing here?

@SakAttack87_PSN said in *List of Removed Legends for 2025*:

This part always sucks. With a new season upon us, we bid farewell to another crop of Legends. Some names are more prominent than others, several have been annual mainstays with even a few being one-and-dones after just debuting last year.

The following players are not available in the offline roster which 99.9% of the time indicates they are no longer in the game...

    Mariano Rivera
    John Smoltz
    Rich Aurilia
    Brian Wilson
    Paul Konerko
    Dante Bichette
    Kevin Youkilis
    Johnny Damon
    Vinny Castilla
    AJ Burnett
    Troy Percival
    Tim Salmon
    Mike Schmidt
    Bret Saberhagen
    Tom Henke
    John Kruk
    Greg Vaughn
    Ron Guidry
    Ken Griffey Sr.
    Ernie Banks
    Fergie Jenkins
    Minnie Miñoso

Aurillia and Kruk only made their Legend debuts just last year. Wow, such a short run!

  • Can someone from SDS please explain why default rosters are neglected
  • totopapa_82_PSNT totopapa_82_PSN

Is it intentional change in this year's game? Many users are still wondering whether this is a temporary bug or a deliberate design choice starting from this installment.

@WeekendLandon_NSW said in Pinch Hit Glitch:

So just for the future, should I not use quick manage to pinch run or anything else on there?

You can use it. From what I've discovered, if you switch from qucik manage mode to normal play mode to make a substitution (such as a pinch hitter or a pitching change) and then return to quick manage mode, that bug does not occur.

  • Pinch Hit Glitch
  • totopapa_82_PSNT totopapa_82_PSN

Did you pinch-hit in Quick Manage mode?
Sometimes when you pinch-hit or make a pitching change in that mode, the box score gets messed up.
This has been a chronic issue in previous versions as well.
I’ve reported this bug to SDS multiple times, but it still hasn’t been fixed.

  • Franchise mode player ratings vs advance stats - player evaluation
  • totopapa_82_PSNT totopapa_82_PSN

@Dime_N_3_Pennys_PSN said in Franchise mode player ratings vs advance stats - player evaluation:

I would like the option to not see any hard coded player ratings in my franchise. If they are still needed for the backend or for other modes, that's fine but I don't want to see them in my franchise.

I'd rather see a bigger emphasis on advanced stats to make player evalution more realistic and performance based.

I get that the show is built upon this rating system and would probably take a big overhaul, but the game is like 20+ years old now and doesn't match up with the emphasis of advanced stats in today's game.

    Instead of:

Contact: show me contact%, line drive% and babip
Power: show me hard hit rate, barrel rate, slugging%
Vision: show me strikeout rate, whiff rate, and chase rate
Discipline: show me walk rate and obp
Fielding: show me outs above average
Potential: show me the 20-80 future value grades instead of a generic letter grade

    Etc etc for the rest

This would make evaluating and acquiring players more about recent performance and less about hard coded stats that you can always bank on because you know certain ratings always play or sim well.

Even if all these advance stats aren't possible in the games current state, I'd like to be able to turn ratings off and make my personnel decisions based on player performance.

    I love your idea.
Not sure how much SDS—especially the devs—would be into it, but maybe it's worth submitting as feedback?

  • Rain outs and double headers
  • totopapa_82_PSNT totopapa_82_PSN

@PAinPA_PSN said in Rain outs and double headers:

    Sounds interesting,until it happens.
and it's rained out in the 2nd inning, and the starter for that game pitches the day before the doubleheader,so you have to use a bullpen game or burn another starter(whose stats get messed up cause it counts as a relief appearance)and then it's a slugfest on both sides and you end up going through 5 bullpen arms and still have a 2nd game to play.

That's baseball. Things like that happen.

  • Retired numbers in franchise mode

@Bhoward1_MLBTS said in Retired numbers in franchise mode:

Start your franchise with CPU Control on and then you'll have the export feature available. Just go through the process as if you're going to export the player, you dont even have to complete the entire process, and the number will revert to the number you want. Just have to turn on CPU roster control when you start your franchise

Much appreciated. It worked! Did it work in old versions as well?

  • Making custom roster building smoother in The Show – some thoughts
  • totopapa_82_PSNT totopapa_82_PSN

As far as I know, a lot of players enjoy this game by customizing rosters—whether solo or as a team—like Fictional Rosters, Classic Rosters, and so on and it’s tough every time a new version drops, especially for roster creators.
Roster building takes a lot of time and effort, and bringing that work over to the new game basically means starting from scratch. Because of that, some players end up sticking with the older version instead of moving on to the new one, simply to avoid the hassle.
I really think it would be great if SDS provided a year-to-year roster migration feature, and ideally, even a way to merge two rosters together.
That would save creators a huge amount of time and keep more people invested in the latest version of the game.

  • importing players to your franchise in franchise mode
  • totopapa_82_PSNT totopapa_82_PSN

What you said is probably something a lot of Franchise guys have been wishing for over the years.
My guess is it’s just a limitation of the current game engine. I mean, people have been asking for this for ages and it still hasn’t changed.
To be fair, I do think SDS tries to add what they can within reason — and honestly, they’ve listened to a bunch of stuff over the years.
But yeah, the feature you mentioned (which I’m also really hoping for) still hasn’t made it in, sadly.

  • Retired numbers in franchise mode
  • totopapa_82_PSNT totopapa_82_PSN

@fubar2k7_PSN Interesting... The most recent method I’ve found is that if you export a created player from the roster editor before entering Franchise mode, the game assigns them a retired number. For example, if you create Randy Johnson, he might initially be given 52 or 53, but once you export him, he’ll be assigned 51.
The problem, though, is that once you start a Franchise with that roster, the number reverts back to 52 or 53.

  • Retired numbers in franchise mode
  • totopapa_82_PSNT totopapa_82_PSN

    Hey guys,
As far as I remeber, the retired numbers could be used in Franchise mode through certain methods, but it doesn’t seem to work anymore.
Has anyone found a way to assign retired numbers to players in Franchise?

    Thanks!

He was wearing a Yankees uniform in the trailer, but judging by his in-game appearance, it seems likely that his Boston-era self will be added as a legend.
I’m guessing it will be either '86 or '90.

@NiteLordz said in Created players nominated for ROY with several MLB service years:

I just created Miguel Sano, with 7 years of service time. Added him to a roster, and he shows as a Rookie. I am curious if there is a way to have him not be a rookie as well.

    That's exactly what I want.
It seems like they use logic to only check the number of played games that meet the rookie eligibility.
It would be good to change the logic to double check not only the games played but also the service time.

  • Created players nominated for ROY with several MLB service years
  • totopapa_82_PSNT totopapa_82_PSN

I've been playing franchise mode with some favorite legends. I created them and added to my roster.
I found something awkward that they are nominated for Rookie of the Year despite giving them several MLB service years.
Is there no way to prevent them being nominated for Rookie of the Year even though they were given several MLB service years?
