Love how they did this! Last year I was always frustrated during events when you couldn’t use prestigeable cards, but this completely fixes it.
Also pxp encourages lineup diversity. It’s a win all the way around.

They should set it up somewhat like mto where you get to choose your difficulty and have a different amount of TA points depending on your chosen difficulty. Here’s the kicker, make it actually play like the difficulty you chose rather than messing with the sliders.
The worst part about showdown is the sliders are not the same as other parts of the game. I just lost to king Felix...I had his pitch count up to 75 and he still had well over half his energy remaining. I know he has high stamina, but that’s b.s....Showdown is by far the worst part of this game.
Plus, it doesn’t even allow you to use the players from your own collection that you work hard to collect. I still have yet to beat a division showdown, snd I’m not looking forward to grinding boring m2o to get Ta points.
They need to revamp parts of this game rather than just adding gimicks Like moments, showdown, and m2o. I think they need to add an “offline ranked season” mode where you play the CPU as they get tougher and tougher. But that makes too much sense.
I believe almost all the below comments are implementable for 2021 since most are merely tweaks or thoughts on planning.
1.) All offline difficulties should be the same. Please don't adjust sliders for things like moments or showdown.
2.) Moments - Delete these. They are truly awful.
If you must make them, make all of them accomplishable to the lowest level of player. Keep in mind moments were in response to the level of grind required in (I think) 18 yet many moments have become a grind unto themselves. At least make every AB against the batters strong side of the plate. No penalties for walks or beans. Allow us to control the runners.
3.) Showdown - Please make the difficulty reasonable. Remember how frustrated people got in the first few months.
You fixed this for stage 3, but please have every game start with the lead off batter. Once someone beats Showdown, they post a review so we know who leads off. It's just a waste of time.
Please fix the reward gate or allow a buy back / mulligan for stubs. Showdown takes somewhere around 2 hours to complete, and it's pretty disheartening when you walk away with almost nothing to show for it.
Enough of get 3 xbh and 2 runs in 2 innings. Should just be about winning or getting out of an inning.
4.) TA - Enjoyed TA for the most part. Why do innings reset from one stage to the next? Makes no sense. Please update.
5.) XP reward path - (A+ on this). Please make it repeatable and everything sellable. There is something unsatisfying at prestige 100 where you don't feel like you are making progress after games.
6.) Prestige - I enjoy this aspect. I'm even fine having it online only (not opposed to offline at a minimum difficulty), but please make the requirements lighter. There are over 100 players to prestige, let's just say there are ~80 batters and they need an average of 75 hits per person (not to mention other stats), that's 6k hits with the right guys. Plus, people dashboard (pls fix). Not to mention, for the first month of the game, there were only 3 prestigable players...So it's not like you had a full game cycle to get those 6k hits. Do the math and put some thought into this.
7.) Events - I enjoy events although I can't buy a win tonight.
Don't do Dead Ball Era (such a terrible event). The Giant event was also quite bad.
As for the timing of events, please be more thoughtful. Moonshot was most of June and the first week of July. At that point, we were in inning 4 and had 9 possible batters to prestige in that event (assuming you bought all of them). Then you released stage 3 TA in early July. Next time you do moonshot, please make sure there are plenty of prestigable players available. I think moonshot about a month after stage 3 TA would have been ideal. If that means releasing stage 3 earlier, that's fine.
My second point on timing is the prestige event needs to start earlier.
Event matchmaking - We have new players joining us this year with the addition of Xbox (and I can't buy a win today). These new players (and I) are gonna be getting our cheeks clapped against WS and BR 12-0 players left and right and it's pretty discouraging. I think RS highest ELO should be a factor in match making. We'll have a larger player base so this will be more feasible in 2021. When searching for an Event game, it should start the search with your highest ELO achieved and the number of wins in your run. This matchmaking set up will make games more competitive without the need for substantial RNG(I understand that the card ratings are RNG in and of themselves)
Event difficulty should never be higher than allstar, unless both players agree to HOF or Legend. (I imagine that if you look through the statistics, you'll see HOF and Legend Events have fewer players.) This would be a simple mechanism, on the events screen, you select your preferred difficulty and if your preferred difficulty matches with the other player, then you can play on HOF or Legend. This would lend itself well to the match making concept above because WS player would be playing against each other more frequently.
Please don't do stadium lock. If you want to play at a specific stadium or don't want shippet, you can home hunt. But nothing is more boring than knowing for a fact the next game will be at Wagonman or Forbes. I would be supportive of you randomizing the stadium for some events (keep in mind the lag at Pro stadiums).
8.) Cards - Increase supply of cards. It's kinda ridiculous when you can't even buy a card if you wanted to because there are a ton of orders in for it.
9.) QoL - Allow us to save Event lineups
Allow us to trade in multiple Showdown vouchers at a time in TA rather than one at a time (I legit think this is just an error because we have the option to select a bunch at a time)
On the market screen, please include 2 additional columns: Owned and Sellable. So we don't have to go into each card's buy / sell menu to see how many we own.
When we complete something, please move it to the back. For example, in conquests, once we beat a conquest, put a "Completed" icon on it and put it at the end, so we don't have to sort though 30 team conquest maps to figure out which ones are still outstanding. Collections menu has the same problem. I have completed the inning collections, please move to the back and signify that they have been completed.
10.) New offline version of ranked seasons where we play the CPU's best version of teams and difficulty increases as you win. You have a smart team...Shouldn't be too crazy to figure out. (innings should count towards TA).
11.) RS - Allow more people into WS. What is the percentage of players who make WS each season? Top 1%? That's not enough. Adjust ELO to allow more players to get in. CS rewards are pretty lackluster.
Looking forward to hearing thoughts.
My two issues with showdown are the sliders/advertised difficulty level and that you can't use your own DD team. If they advertise a showdown level at veteran or all-star, then it should play at veteran or all-star...Otherwise, just say it's at Hall of Fame difficulty and they would get much less heat because would be setting the proper expectations.
Second, I wish you could use your DD team. Right now, if you want to play offline, the only two modes where you use the team you work hard to build are conquest and play vs CPU. This seems like a wasted opportunity by SDS because they want to encourage people to spend money on micro-transactions and if people (like me) are having trouble on showdowns, then maybe they will spend money for better players.

Will there be anymore content releases for The Show 20 in the near future? Maybe a new conquest map to keep us busy?
Forever event. Unprestiged cards or golds are eligible. Every 10 wins is an event rewind pack and every 25 wins is a BR or WS pack.
I would have gone with more wins per pack, but I didn’t think the forever event would start this late.
I would love to see Delgado in the game. Loved him as a kid.
Anyone else think that the player program announced on the stream today “to help you get some more stars in the 8th inning program” was code for “uh...we knew people would stop playing our game when madden dropped, but we didn’t expect it to be this bad. I guess the dead ball event which many people despise is driving people away from our game.”
I can only speak for myself, but I’m only at 178 stars because I have cut back my time on this game significantly. Furthermore, the way they have the extreme set up pretty much insures that I have no incentive to get back into the game in a meaningful way. I mean I’ll enjoy conquest extreme, and maybe I’ll luck out and beat showdown, but I’m not going to waste too much time on it. I jumped into the Gehrig moment and it doesn’t really look like that’s happening so no reason for the time sink.
I also like the new update

I still don’t understand why prestige players are relevant to strictly offline gamers. I’ve said this before but is that +3 attributes really needed to battle the cpu?
Some people like to collect all the cards.
Yeah, I get that, but it kinda doesn’t make sense to me if you’re not ever going to use them against an opponent.
Everyone plays the game for different reasons.
That said, I did have a somewhat enjoyable time playing moments this year and I probably wouldn’t have played if not for prestiging. The good thing about prestiging is a lot of people quit because they were trying to boost, so that free win was very nice (I know a lot of people complain about the prestige boosting online, but I take my win and move on).
I’m generally not in favor of removing certain game modes and reducing ways to play the game, but please don’t put them in 21. They are so bad.
I love the irony of how they came about...people didn’t want to grind stats so they made us power swing for 3 hours instead. What a joke!
I honestly loved the stat grinds from 18, it always gave you a reason to play and use new players.
Can't hardly buy a win in this event. I'm stuck on merely 6 wins, and it has been brutal. I know they are giving us 3 weeks to complete, but much of this event takes place over the thanksgiving / christmas holidays and I will be traveling (I know it's against COVID guidelines, but getting tested on Wednesday).
I know people have talked about pitch framing on this site, and maybe someone has already put this idea forth, but I think the attribute should slightly affect the size of the strike zone. A catcher with 99 framing would show a larger strike zone and a catcher with low pitch framing would show a smaller one. Nothing drastic, and maybe it’s offset by a combo of vision / discipline. It would certainly make defensive catchers more valuable.
Thoughts?
@dingers4days14 and @raesone
Here’s the thing, I don’t think it’s a dice roll at all. Before the pitch is thrown you can see the expanded strike zone so there are no surprises. It’s the same as how Judge and Rollins have different size strike zones.
Jumped into the miggy tops now moment to see if anything has changed since last year. Before I saw a pitch the pitcher threw over to first to try and pickoff the runner...most of the time, they listen to feedback, but curious to see if they listened to community feedback on this mode.
And I’ve been walked twice in this moment

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Braun as a program card. He just announced his retirement a day or so ago. They might do a send off program.
I would love to see a 42 pack somewhere in that reward path…haven’t seen one of those in what seems like months.
Not a fan of this quick count event at all, it rewards players who don’t normally work the count.
