You need to make some house rules and follow em. All those trades seem totally unrealistic and would never happen in real life. All you're doing is taking advantage of the games weak transactions AI.
I love playing franchise too, but I try to keep it somewhat competitive and realistic.

For instance: The only trades I make are ones offered up to me by the CPU.
I place whomever I want to get rid of or use as trade bait on the trading block and list my positional needs - keeping my fingers crossed some decent offers come in. And... I allow myself only 3 trades during the season and 5 in the off-season.

Free Agency is a whole other matter and if I had more time I could give some excellent suggestions with that as well.

you need to collect four of;

Mickey Mantle (for collecting and locking in live series MLB players for each team, then locking in the rewards from each team and division until you've completed the whole AL [Craig Biggio] and NL [Gary Sheffield]) Trout (his own collection in "Collections" - collect vouchers for 15 of the different available collections, like Rookie players, Breakout players, Home Run Derby players etc. There are a ton of YouTube videos on it if you're unsure). Polo Grounds (reward for collecting all classic stadiums, which you can buy off the market for around 1,500 - 2,500 each) Going 12-0 in Battle Royale (good luck) Getting to World Series (ranking 900) in Ranked Seasons - again, good luck! Hitting rank Prestige level 60 (which you can get to just by playing the game A LOT)

Everybody in the starting lineup of my Old Farts team debuted in the 40s or earlier. Some of the bench dudes debuted in the 50s, and then the bullpen is just the best I could do with the old farts that we have at our disposal.

I'm not sure what's going on since its not specifically a gameplay update, but perhaps there's a stealth one.

I for one have had an awful time hitting since the update. I was able to hit okay on HOF in the previous event and now I'm struggling to do anything with an arguably better squad.

I've managed 3 wins in the event. Two of them because people were doing dailies and the 3rd win was because of two fluke hits and a baserunning error that ended up in my favor where I ended up scoring and the guy quit - understandably considering the fluke hits.

For some reason I can barely make any solid contact. I've also been late on alot of pitches. I'm using a monitor and even moving up my PCI for high fastballs, but still late. Probably some reaction issue on my part, but I didnt have this problem in the previous event.

Happened to me in the one ranked game I played where I couldnt get any hits with my God squad..

I already do this and still I can't find a good match. I suspect it's becuase I'm pretty far down the skill ladder and there just aren't good matches to be had. I'm [censored], sitting down at 397, and my rating won't go down even after a bunch of losses. If I occasionally get a win, it pops up well over 400 and that's about the last thing I want. So I don't play much but I really want to.

My only hope is I'll learn to hit, which is the biggest issue I have. I can hit on All-star vs CPU decently. At least enough to win most of those games. But in RS it's like a different world. Better pitchers, less predictability, and it just seems faster. I'm always late on fastballs and early on everything else.
