Can I throw Lou Brock in the mix here? 125 contact vs RHP, 99 speed and 99 stealing, plus diamond level fielding. What more do you want in a leadoff guy?

Someone knows how to get the gold-plated bat in the store?
is that the GOAT bat? if so, you unlock via a collection rather than through the market or the store.
you need to collect four of;
- Mickey Mantle (for collecting and locking in live series MLB players for each team, then locking in the rewards from each team and division until you've completed the whole AL [Craig Biggio] and NL [Gary Sheffield])
- Trout (his own collection in "Collections" - collect vouchers for 15 of the different available collections, like Rookie players, Breakout players, Home Run Derby players etc. There are a ton of YouTube videos on it if you're unsure).
- Polo Grounds (reward for collecting all classic stadiums, which you can buy off the market for around 1,500 - 2,500 each)
- Going 12-0 in Battle Royale (good luck)
- Getting to World Series (ranking 900) in Ranked Seasons - again, good luck!
- Hitting rank Prestige level 60 (which you can get to just by playing the game A LOT)

I broke Bonds' single season HR record in my 3rd full season as a Met (2023). Ended with 80HR, 160+ rbi and .411 avg on Dynamic difficulty that was on "Legend/Legend+" all year.
Doing it on Legend is far more impressive. I was only messing around in the rookie season before he got maxed out on every attribute, after which point it's become even easier. Mis-timing them over the wall now in pursuit of other records.
Single season bests now at;
Home Runs: 178 (2024)
Hits: 376 (2024)
Steals: 161 (2022)
RBI: 339 (2024)
Runs: 235 (2024)Career totals;
HRs: 799
Hits: 2421
RBI: 1810
Steals: 599Slash .443 / .496 / 1.043
Been mixing up which record I go for each year, so although I had one year of 161 steals, I can rarely be bothered to get more than 30 in a year now, so at 599 in the 2030 (age 28) season. The 56 game hit streak looking ominously tough to get near. Every time I got to 30+ I'd seem to get brought in as a pinch hitter and drill one at the shortstop to end the streak. Luckily now being on an AL team the chances of coming in as a pinch hitter are reduced, but Mr diMaggio's record not in any danger, from me, at least.

Couldn't agree more. The second worst 99 reliever, behind Nick Anderson's "Finest" card...

I've usually been an avid DD player, and whenever I've done Franchise I've picked a team, traded the whole farm to win in Year 1 then got bored, or turned money off and just bought the best players. As a Red Sox fan I thought I'd actually do it properly, and see what our GM is working with... an over-priced payroll of aging veterans, with a handful of good prospects but not much else to shout about.
I've thoroughly enjoyed playing around with front/back loading contracts to give myself some financial wiggle room, and getting guys like Eovaldi, JD Martinez and Pedroia off the roster has helped me actually go after some decent players too. Lots and lots of trading (made AJ Preller look pedestrian) has also helped, always trying to max out the 'value' I get from a trade even with mid level B or C rated players knowing I can spin them on for someone I actually want afterwards.
Now in the 2022 offseason having won the World Series in 2020 and 2022, and losing in the ALDS in 2021. Now with a 90+ potential prospect in every position behind an 85+ starter, I couldn't be happier with how the roster is shaping up. Managed to get Bellinger off the trading block (!!) from the Dodgers, albeit had to cough up Max Muncy (who I'd traded for the year before), Benintendi and a top infield prospect to do it, Eloy Jimenez in exchange for Teoscar Hernandez (90 rated at the time) and two years of Chris Sale, and then got Yelich in free agency to create a star studded team.
Have been lucky with a couple of trades I've been offered, I think. Orioles sent me Adley Rutschman for a 22 year old relief prospect, which I doubt would happen in real life given he was the first overall pick, but enjoying properly scouting players and actually trying to make sensible short and long term decisions, rather than just buying the best team and force trading Mike Trout for Jackie Bradley Jr. like I have in the past!

the problem with being a UK player is these packs/bundles usually drop in the afternoon/evening US time while we're asleep - woke up this morning to Sell Now my Ortiz for 21,000. Hardly as exciting as the 200,000 he would have been worth before the packs dropped!

'Rockers' sounds cool, until your pitchers get rocked!
Doubt they'd go with it given Colorado's name. Can't imagine the Rockers playing the Rockies!
-
I've only started to dabble with him recently as I try to prestige him. Find him very mixed. Last start was 5.2 scoreless, 9 Ks. Start before he didn't get out the third inning, so definitely not 'reliable' in that regard!
-
As above.... MVP Joe Morgan.
123 C and 107 P vs righties, 92 speed and great defense. What's not to love?

OP do you pick these topics out of a hat before you make these threads? Lol
I swear he has a journal that he writes these ideas down to save for later
Not at all. I think of something and I immediately make a post about it. That simple my guy.
I have thought of a bunch of ideas. I want to post them, but I never do...…….
If I did, I would have WAY more topics, and dumb ideas. lolPost what you think is your dumbest idea RIGHT NOW.
thinking Finest Nick Anderson can come out of the bullpen and get me out of a bases loaded mess.
-
Agreed. I think Lou Brock's 1974 season is the most impressive. 118 stolen bases in his age 35 season! Did get caught 33 times but we won't dwell on that part...
-
the same reason on the Duvy x3 moment with Adam Duvall that sometimes you come to the plate and he's 0-3 despite having already hit two home runs in the real game prior to that at bat!
-
Whenever I'm trying to get holds, I use the guy I want the hold with as my third pitcher to ensure that he's not going to be in line for the win instead of the hold. For instance, if I take a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning, I'd go:
1st inning - Starter
2nd inning - entering with the lead - Reliever 1 (gets the win) gets two outs. Intentionally walk the third guy, then bring in Reliever 2 (enters in a hold situation - only needs one out to complete the inning and register the hold). -
can't be as bad as Finest Nick Anderson. The guy gets lit up every single time!

I tried to break all the MLB single season records with my RTTS player in my first full MLB season, to see if it could be done. Stuck it on Beginner (!) to see how many I could do.
Batted .464 (257 hits) with 90 HRs and 216 RBIs, with 73 stolen bases. AL ROY, Triple Crown and MVP in my first full 2021 season.
Does make you realise how ridiculous some of the actual MLB records (Ichiro's 262 hits!) really are!!
Somehow the Cardinals then convinced Detroit to part ways with me despite my historic '21 season and four years of team control at $6.6m per season in a straight swap for Jack Flaherty in May of '22. We're now dominating the NL Central and looking good for the NL MVP in 2022!

Currently on my 7th golf lesson. Been trying to get to a single digit handicap. Play three to four days a week but can't quite get over the hump.
Consistently playing to a high level, but despite hard graft and good results never quite seem to get where you're hoping to:
Signature Ted Williams
(most 2nd place MVP finishes in history with four)

I've had food poisoning from McDonalds 3 times in the last year, and yet I still go to McDonalds
Keep going back even when you know there's a reason the last three trips didn't work out. You're Rickey Henderson.

Contact effects the PCI size. Vision effects the timing windowYou’re technically correct, but vague and it’s not the whole story. Also affect (sorry lol, habit)
@Freddy_Sez has it correct. I’ve tested this and found what he said to be the case. We do not know how exactly vision and K/9 affect timing windows.
I was just about to comment on how the incorrect use of 'effect' was affecting me. Glad I'm not the only one!

I'd use those 100k to get the Dodger exchanges done and get Mookie Betts Finest in RF, personally, if you don't already have him. I'd say he's a better bet than DJ. I also personally don't rate Walker (but know some people really like him) but if you get him for free at 500 stars then he's fine, but wouldn't go out of my way to spend stubs on him (in hindsight). The 200k+ I spent on him back in the 5th inning was a regret. He's hit .242 for me and done very little exciting since about September!
