Record Breakers

I tried to break all the MLB single season records with my RTTS player in my first full MLB season, to see if it could be done. Stuck it on Beginner (!) to see how many I could do.
Batted .464 (257 hits) with 90 HRs and 216 RBIs, with 73 stolen bases. AL ROY, Triple Crown and MVP in my first full 2021 season.
Does make you realise how ridiculous some of the actual MLB records (Ichiro's 262 hits!) really are!!
Somehow the Cardinals then convinced Detroit to part ways with me despite my historic '21 season and four years of team control at $6.6m per season in a straight swap for Jack Flaherty in May of '22. We're now dominating the NL Central and looking good for the NL MVP in 2022!

Even crazier is that you are about half of the way there in stolen bases, which surprisingly Rickey doesn’t even have the record
-
Agreed. I think Lou Brock's 1974 season is the most impressive. 118 stolen bases in his age 35 season! Did get caught 33 times but we won't dwell on that part...

Most historians don’t count Hugh Nicols’s 138 steals in 1887, as back then a steal was credited every time a baserunner took an extra base on a hit by another player. Iff a player went from first to third on a single, he was given a steal. Rickey’s 130 in 1982 is the true standard for thievery

I broke Bonds' single season HR record in my 3rd full season as a Met (2023). Ended with 80HR, 160+ rbi and .411 avg on Dynamic difficulty that was on "Legend/Legend+" all year.

Someone knows how to get the gold-plated bat in the store?

Doing it on Legend is far more impressive. I was only messing around in the rookie season before he got maxed out on every attribute, after which point it's become even easier. Mis-timing them over the wall now in pursuit of other records.
Single season bests now at;
Home Runs: 178 (2024)
Hits: 376 (2024)
Steals: 161 (2022)
RBI: 339 (2024)
Runs: 235 (2024)Career totals;
HRs: 799
Hits: 2421
RBI: 1810
Steals: 599Slash .443 / .496 / 1.043
Been mixing up which record I go for each year, so although I had one year of 161 steals, I can rarely be bothered to get more than 30 in a year now, so at 599 in the 2030 (age 28) season. The 56 game hit streak looking ominously tough to get near. Every time I got to 30+ I'd seem to get brought in as a pinch hitter and drill one at the shortstop to end the streak. Luckily now being on an AL team the chances of coming in as a pinch hitter are reduced, but Mr diMaggio's record not in any danger, from me, at least.

is that the GOAT bat? if so, you unlock via a collection rather than through the market or the store.
you need to collect four of;
- Mickey Mantle (for collecting and locking in live series MLB players for each team, then locking in the rewards from each team and division until you've completed the whole AL [Craig Biggio] and NL [Gary Sheffield])
- Trout (his own collection in "Collections" - collect vouchers for 15 of the different available collections, like Rookie players, Breakout players, Home Run Derby players etc. There are a ton of YouTube videos on it if you're unsure).
- Polo Grounds (reward for collecting all classic stadiums, which you can buy off the market for around 1,500 - 2,500 each)
- Going 12-0 in Battle Royale (good luck)
- Getting to World Series (ranking 900) in Ranked Seasons - again, good luck!
- Hitting rank Prestige level 60 (which you can get to just by playing the game A LOT)
