I know what the glitch is and I think it is minor. Let's say you replace Ripken with the best version of Ripken. Is Ripken the best card you could have used at third and still got a bonus? Nope, but you saved a bench spot. If you had to swap you would likely get a better starter than Ripken with a better swing and only use a bench spot. Are the team attributes different in either scenario? No. So the only loss is a bench spot and yet people are acting like the world is falling.

I don't like the getting screwed argument. Let's say contact goes up by 10 verses R and L. There are other cards that can be used that are about as good. I think it limits flexibility to some extent, but I will say it again... the attribute boost is not broken for you if you start Captain Ripken at third and immediately replaces him with someone on your bench as soon as the game starts. If you blame your losses on another person utilizing a captain boost and you are not utilizing one, that is on you. You do not have to cheat to utilize the boost as coded. There is no ban for starting and immediately pulling a captain.

So if you bought a hat when the rights to do so from the vendor were there, and then the vendor loses the right to sell the hat later, you have no rights to wear the hat? SDS is not allowed to profit off of the WBC now, but that doesn't mean that they have the right to take your card back. They can't sell it in a pack, but the free market can still sell the item that they own.

So lets say 20% of the online players used the Captains glitch. Don't you think that it would be bad for business for SDS to ban 20% of its online player base? Also, where do you draw a line on the bans? Did the player do it once online, did they do it for 45 staraight games? What is that cutoff? If I am in the business of making an enjoyable sports game the word enjoyable matters. Getting banned sucks, I was banned for reversing one stub purchase immediately without using any of the content. FOr 10 years I never request a refund, hundreds of $5-$100 purchases if not more than a thousand. Playstation support offered it up without a request on my end and SDS banned me citing PS banning me. PS says I was never banned and they didn't know what I was talking about. I am still banned on my SevisonJN account.
I have been a heavy SDS supporter, but I cannot condone that behavior. Plus as a software tester for a living, when I look at bugs I look at the loss of functionality or the exploitability of the bug. In the case of the Captains boost it works as designed until you swap players, but that only gets you a bench spot since the functionality as designed was to allow the Captain to be swapped out immediately after the game started and still keep the boost. So the guy who isn't exploiting the glitch ends up with the same perks minus an extra bench player. That is the reason why this glitch is low for me as far as importance. Now, if the code was designed so that the Captain had to stay in the starting spot to get the boost and the glitch allowed you to gain attributes and not have the negative attributes of the Captain card that would be a bigger issue IMO.

They break even or take a loss to sell a game like MLB The Show. They make money off of the micro-transaction. People can complain about them, but they are one of the major reasons why games cost $70 and not $120. In 1988 Nintendo games were upwards of $50 to put things into perspective.
Can someone post the agreement that gets signed? Not the forum agreement, but the in game agreement. I found this when doing a quick search and the only thing I see that is even close to a problem in this case is "You may not engage in deceptive or misleading practices". This year alone we have had the Ohtani glitch, the Captain glitch, and wasn't there a stamina glitch? Can anyone name any more? All I am saying is that not all glitches are created equal and not every glitch impacts game play. The reason that the captain glitch doesn't bother me is 1. everyone can do it, 2. the functionality as directed basically allows for the same thing and 3. the players you would replace boosted players with at this point in the game are all end game cards.

People do glitches every year that do not get as much flack as the Captain glitch. You know how easy it should be for SDS to fix the bug that occurs every single time that it is used in the same order. Repeatable, check. Easy to implement, check. And let's be completely honest here, the glitch frees up one bench spot, that is it. If you start Captain Ripken on the durability squad and then remove him from the starting lineup right away you keep all boosts. So this isn't some top-of-the-line exploit here and that is how SDS designed it on purpose.
I have opened a lot of packs, but outside of chase packs being in the show shop, I previously pulled Trout X2, Tatis x3, Mauer x3 (maybe 4), Mantle x2, Ohtani x3, Harper x2 (maybe 3), and deGrom. I really didn't open many Reggie chase packs. I bought Randy and never pulled him. I also tried like a million stubs to pull Cruz and never did. I think there it is just a matter of playing the odds and looking at 1 in 50 odds like they really are, poor.
Always hated this portion of how SDS does things. Banning a streamer for taking advantage of flawed code makes no sense (for those arguing for a ban). Nobody should be banned for using what SDS missed in testing. This flaw was/is available to everyone. Just announce the flaw, state if the flaw if going to be fixed in a future release or not (acceptance), and then make it so every player knows of the flaw and how to use it. Then, everyone will be on an even playing field outside of the cards they own that can be boosted. I do not see what the problem the problem is here.
It would be cool if the final Finders Keepers reward was a Captain card that boosted all Negro League player attributes. You can make that Captain Jackie Robinson.
I think there is one more World Series reset right? When that happens maybe Kaiju and those Captains are added. I can also see them doing one last flash sale and making those packs available.
The odds of pulling a Chase card out of a Chase pack are worse than 1 out of 15.
If this is the last season I would guess that TA6 would drop cards in the same format as previous seasons. They might have us complete a TA6 and get all the cards that have not been available for a long time in preparation for the final collections. What do you think they do?
Retain... I got suspended by SDS for an action that PlayStation support volunteered to complete. Reach out to MLBTS support and they say PS suspended me. Reach out to PS and they say that never happened.
It will not let me put more than one player from season 1 into my squad. I can't get more than one season 1 player to go into any mini seasons squad to include classic mode. I understand the wildcard spot, but why is it being enforced against Play vs. CPU and classic mini-seasons? Anyone know a way around this?

But even if they did get back to you they would not move your cards over to a new account. That would defeat the purpose of the ban. At that point it would probably be easier to just unban you.

You can’t fix that via chargeback. It’s a terrible way to handle it. Most businesses will ban you if you do that.
PS recommended the chargeback to resolve the issue since their refund policy is that a claim must be submitted within 14 days of purchasing the item and the item cannot be redeemed. I am banned in what seems to be a very odd loophole.

There has been nobody for me to provide factual evidence of what happened and if SDS will not talk to PS and PS will not talk to SDS, how does this ever get resolved.

Yes and PS has a site where you enter your information and it will email you if banned. I did that twice and I got no email. I have spoken to 7 agents and 2 managers at PS and they said that I was never suspended or banned by PS. They keep saying work through MLB The ashow support, but outside of their initial response a few days after they banned me to say that I am banned because PS banned me, there has been no update.

I believe I did via logging into theshownation site on my phone. From there you can click in a link that brings up a drop down menu that has a selection for 'stubs'. On that page it defaulted to the PS4 tab, but there is a PS5 tab right next to it. I didn't catch that because it makes no sense for it to be there if PS4 and PS5 stubs are the same as some gave said. When I purchased the bundle it said something like "Redeem PS4 stubs". I never did and called PS right away for support. They offered the refund and I got banned by SDS. I am so disappointed.
