LoL... at even casuals can complete it. I would love to hear your definition of a casual. I consider myself somewhere between a casual and hard-core playing an average of 8-12 hours per week and I haven't even completed close to half the programs/content released this year, and I have no issues with difficulty. If you are somebody who can keep up with all this content all year long... you are so far from casual, you can't even begin to understand what casual is. Hardcores have no reason to complain about "too easy to complete" in this game, because you need to play this game like a 40 hour a week job to keep up with it even if you are awesome and can play on legend.... that alone is hardcore and extreme. No casuals are playing all this content on HOF and I can promise you that. Casuals are not even going to try... so relax and go get some fresh air.

Do you mean only 4 cards to collect for all set 1?
-
I haven't spent a dime other than buying the game this year, and still feel like I have a good team and no worries playing H2H with my squad. I will say though... they definitely did change direction this year with how the collections and top cards are distributed. Unfortunately it's the new model for most video games today to urge users to spend money on content. This game used to be much easier to aquire any cards you want without spending at all and it's definitely not this year. It has been more time consuming to earn stubs and most of the top end cards are only available in packs, and cost 100k+ to buy them in the marketplace. I don't blame them at all wanting to make max profit, and that's what any successful business should be doing. This game is still much less of a cash grab than Madden.

He's a content creator and a big Angels fan. It is his job to do this and this exclusive will get him many clicks and views.
He told me that one time I asked what was the rush to unlock a card first earlier in the season. I understand, but dayam. Less than 6 hours after June POM dropped?
Also, Shohei is leaving the Angels anyway as a FA.You think he'll be a Met? Should be fun to see where he ends up.
I think he's going to stay with the Angels, he got that loyalty thing like Trout and Judge. The Angels are not going to give up one of their most prized players tho I will laugh if he goes to the A's before they go to Las Vegas
Trout and Judge got 2 of the 3 biggest contracts in baseball history... is that what loyalty looks like??? Do you think if another team offered a bigger contract these guys would have rejected and stayed loyal??? The truth is the Angels likely won't be able to pay him what he will get in FA after paying Trout. He is going to be the biggest prize ever... he is going to get paid more than most MLB teams entire roster.
I know Shohei isn’t all about the moolah but no way he’s staying with the Angels unless they pay and they are notorious as an organization when it comes to horrible decisions. I say Western team 150% and 92.375% certain it’ll be the Dodgers.
He could stay with the Angels, but realistically he won't because he should definitely be the highest paid player in baseball next and deserves it. If the Angels spent that kind of money to keep him, they still are where they are right now and having 2 of the highest paid guys and not winning would be absurd. I think he gets offers from several teams, and think it will be interesting where he ends up. I could see Dodgers, Yankees, Mets, and Red Sox all paying him a massive amount of money... but will have to wait and see. I would trade him and get multiple top end prospects for him if I was the Angels GM. They haven't won with him, so might as well fill out your roster with young talent and start to build a complete team using him as an asset.

Remember it happening more often in years past, but haven't seen it this year. At times when there has been enough time to get it back in... nobody even covers first. It must be very rare.

Yup some games on HOF 102 is hittable sometimes it's 135 mph .
Seriously, I hope next year they really focus on this because the masses are leaving early this year even with all this content. People really do care about the online experience what's the point of grinding all these cards when the network connection ruins all of it. The fact in the matter is SDS needs to get it right, if not EA MLB is just right around the corner...
If you want a good online experience it begins on your end. Good equipment, sufficient bandwidth, not gaming wirelessly, and good condition of your household wiring.
This is not true at all though... you can have top of the line perfect internet, but if your not the host (away games) and your opponent has lag, you have lag as well. This is why a lot of top players home hunt... so they are guaranteed a smooth connection. This game online is equal to most games 10 years ago... it's really bad in comparison to the few other online games I play. I played well over 200 games of MUT and hours H2H in GT7 this year and never had even a slight issue with lag.

Honestly, you are probably already at a point where you do not need to update your team.
A couple of points:
First, many people will need to update their team before all of their Set 1 cards expire in a month.
Second, you absolutely can't use yourself as an example. Your profile shows 462 hours played already. The game released 10 weeks ago. So you have basically turned it into a full time job, averaging more than 40 hours a week. Of course double XP is going to benefit you more with that kind of playtime, but don't make the assumption that others can invest that much time into the game. I would assume you are in the top 2%-5% of players as far as time played.
And that is not a knock on your play time. If you have that much free time and you enjoy the game then more power to you, but most don't have that much free time to invest.
I have 1435 hours logged. I leave my console on and logged into the game all day every day. I simply forget to turn it off. I play maybe an hour and half a day, MAYBE two hours on weekends.
I wouldn't use time on the game as a reflection of how much time people actually spend playing the game.
That is strange. You would think that when the game disconnected you from the server for inactivity that it would stop accumulating hours, especially in DD.
I have a 6-4 ranked record and something like 20-25 coop games played with a friend. My son and I have done a bit of MTO and RTTS. I did do mini seasons during TA1. None is this comes close to accounting for 60 total days of nonstop game play which is what 1435 hours equates to. 60 days and the game has only been out for 69 days so which is more likely?
I don't think anybody is insinuating you played 1400 hours. I was only saying you definitely are not "caught up" with content playing 1-2 hours a day... it's just not possible.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN said in They're definitely messing with the way you can make stubs.:
Yeah usually it will disconnect you from the server. Those that claim they leave their console on seems kinda like an excuse to cover up how much time they actually play the game. No matter how you slice it there is no way you are keeping up with all the programs playing an average of 2 hours per day. We all know many players log 10-12 hours per day on the regular. I don’t care how you choose to spend your free time but at least be honest with it so people aren’t misled into thinking they can accomplish in 2 hrs what takes people 10+ hours to accomplish. Turning on and off the console takes 2-3 seconds tops.
Exactly... the servers will boot you after a while of inactivity. It's been this way for years. Anybody claiming they can keep up with ALL this content by playing an hour or two a day is full of it 100%... I play at least 2 hours a day on average, and I'm not even close to keeping up with it. There's no way your convincing anybody who plays this game regularly you are keeping up with all this as a casual 10 hour a week player. It takes a ton of time to just complete the team affinity alone... nevermind the countless other stuff. You could be a God skillwise, but you still need to play the games and PXP 100's of players to be caught up. The people who have EVERYTHING done right now are hard core players, and simple as that.

When WS players won’t play away games for three years, egos are most certainly on the line.
I don't necessarily think home hunting is due to egos. It's really a [censored] shoot playing away games, because trying to hit a baseball with lag is unbearable and not fun at all. I don't have any ego regarding video game performance, and have only played maybe 6 RS games all year due to all the content to grind offline and limited time to play. When I play ranked or BR I will back out if I see lag in the select pitcher screen and has nothing to do with ego or having an advantage... I just hate playing H2H games with lag. Honestly I don't blame anyone for not wanting to play a laggy game, and SDS should have done something to correct this issue a long time ago and they haven't. This game is literally the only game I play that I have ANY issues with lag... it's a major negative for me in this game... it's ridiculous.

Agreed.... it's not about "keeping it fresh" it's about keeping the whales spending money all year. It only gets worse every year in ALL online games now.

Do you [censored] and moan when something doesn't go your way at your senior software engineering job too??? Good riddance if you're actually an adult making multiple threads pouting about a video game.

For some odd reason... I have always hit better in conquest on All-star than I do on veteran. If you are struggling, hop into practice on HOF and then go play conquest on All-star... I think you will do better than playing on veteran.

Nice thread.... thanks for sharing. LoL

It seems to get a little tougher every year. It's not viable for everybody... but the margins are a lot bigger in the early morning. I've had some good mornings this year when I have had the time to pull out my phone at work.

This is how I feel about LS collection as well. Billy Wagner may be the only one I continue to use.
Sosa and Jeter are great.Mark might be the worst 99 I have ever used
Wagner, Sosa, and Jeter are all very good... but with all the buyable 99s this year, they aren't 3 million stubs good.

Seems like a lot of content this year. I can't even come close to completing it all. There is nothing wrong with pleasing the hard core players, that play like it's a full time job. My issue is the limited time our rewards are relevant. All this grinding is way less rewarding knowing that I only get to use these cards for a few months and then useless. I'm sure a lot of people love this new "keep it fresh" system... but for me, it has only killed my motivation to grind as much as years past. Looking at a huge collection like set 1 and knowing the rewards are only usable for a few months, takes all my motivation away from trying to complete it. That set is a massive grind for cards that you can't use all year if you like them all.
