    ANOTHER PS Stub Sale

worst part is in the uk we only get 1 out of 5 stub sales, So the market keeps inflating and even if i wanted to i couldn't buy stubs so we get punished by card prices going up without having the option to buy cheaper stubs not that i would.

I'm upset I don't have ability to buy something at a discount that I don't want to buy... ooooooookay.

Just consider it a tariff, chap.

No it’s a cheese move I’m talking about where you have nobody guarding the bag and they take a lead and then you would go to the quick menu and cover second and then throw it’s a broken mechanic they need to fix

For those not aware this is cheese because what happens is the game teleports the player to the bag while unpaused. What should happen is after you unpause the MI walks over to the bag.

But essentially, you lead, quick menu cover bag teleports guy to bag that wasn't there, likely instant pick off.

If someone does this to you, you have two options: 1 start mashing R1... or 2 immediately send your runner to 3B because the guy is going to throw behind you to 2B, need 90+ to do this and you'll catch him so off guard.

There's actually another option... send the runner then stop with R2, the player will likely throw to 3B immediately in panic and you can then get back to the bag.

I didn't ever notice a guy teleport? I'll just do my regular pickoff and it gets them every time ?
Interesting. I mean it's obviously a flaw either way, but was not aware of the teleport thing?

It happens when you are in situation with no one covering 2B. No one covering, runner rightfully takes extra lead. But if pitcher then hits the quick menu to change the shift to Cover 2B, your infielder teleports to the bag, you can't change your lead in the menu, so pitcher exits and immediately mashes pickoff to catch you.

Next time you are pitching even if no one is on, go into quick menu and change your shift, you will notice players on the field just magically move around.

Or maybe a Reggie Stocker with this gigantic head and bloated muscles right next to art of "Bonds" when he was like 185 lbs

Mock them all you want, steroid era was the most entertaining baseball of our lifetimes... gametimes have gotten longer and not returned under 3 hours since.

10 runs per game in 2 hours 50 min... now we got 8 runs per game in 3 hours 10 minutes... 20 more minutes and 2 less runs on average. Yuck... league average batting average has tumbled from 270 to 242... stolen bases used to be 50% more than what they are now too, so less scoring, less hitting, less running, longer games... ugh.

I honestly don't care about card art, makes no difference to me on owning or playing any cards... but... this series is so lame and awful, this guy is like the laziest comic in the world. Dude just draws a cape and popped collar on everyone lol. So lame.

Oh, and to answer the OP question. Here's my path.

1- Got a job. Was pretty good at it
    2- Make a F-Ton of money
    3- Buy missing cards.
    4- Get Brett

This is the better path. Grind your work, make lots of money, buy stubs with disposable income.

If defense matters, then Betts lead in that aspect too.

Defense is the reason Betts leads in WAR. I don't know if Goldy had a particularly bad month but he got slaughtered on defensive ratings in May

    According to Fangraphs

    Betts
    18.1 Offensive runs above average
    1.8 Defensive runs above average
    2.6 WAR

    Goldschmidt
    22.6 Offensive runs above average
    -4.0 Defensive runs above average
    2.4 war

It seems like they rated Goldy quite a bit higher offensively and Betts much higher defensively.

But does MLB player of the month count defense or do they only look at offense? Who knows.

It's a moot point, neither is likely to get lightning or even get a card for that matter.

Regardless of how they play defense good or bad the full season positional adjustment of 1B is -12.5, the adjustment for RF is -7.5, so Goldy starts out -5 behind Betts just from the position they play regardless of how they preform.

Betts WAR tipped Goldy by 0.2...

Also using decimals of WAR to differentiate two players is the incorrect use of the stat. It's an estimate not meant to have hairs split over decimals.

"Martin Perez or Hader will probably get it to mix things up.

"Goldschmidt hands down if it is a hitter and it's not close. Betts only has a higher WAR due to the positional adjustment."

Not sure where you are getting your information, but both players were very close in basically every hitting category during May. Furthermore, Betts lead Goldy in not just WAR, but also in Home Runs, Runs, and K%. If defense matters, then Betts lead in that aspect too.

I'm getting my information from statistical facts.

Goldy leads Betts sizeable, not close, in AVG, OBP, SLG, and thus OPS... we are talking +62, +60, +71, +131... he slaughters him outright. Sure, Betts hit 2 more HR but Goldy topped him in XBH and TB... +6 more RBI. Betts got driven in more by his team mates and scored more Runs.

Goldschmidt had a 251 wRC+ for the month, Betts was 3rd behind Goldy and Devers at 216... it's not close. Another sizeable win for Goldy.

Betts has a better WAR due purely to positional adjustment and that's it.

Had to do with "saved" event lineups this year even if you don't have an active entry. Need to go to create a lineup, pull him out, back out.

Always has been the case. Even without the saved lineups. If you had a card event eligible and it was one of your top cards for the event it will get auto put in the lineup.

No it's different this year. In years past it was only for an active entry. If you had no event entry it would not occur. This year because of saved lineups even if you forfeit your entry to close it out and have no active event entry it will still recognize the player as in use due to the "saved" lineup entry in the background for when you submit your next event lineup.

  • Trevor Story - May POTM
  • notoriousHEB_PSNN notoriousHEB_PSN

Right now it is Aaron Judge by a landslide.

It won't be Story, he's only hitting. 237 in the month of May.

Judge leads MLB with 11 HR ... hitting .333 with 1.187 OPS to boot.

On the other hand JD Martinez is hitting .425, just not big power numbers. Acuna could get it for hit return from injury.... Martin Perez and Verlander in the mix with ERA of 0.64 and 0.70 WHIP of 1.02 and 0.74... unconventional but RPs Taylor Roger's and David Bednar are dominating with 10+ innings right now in May.

Right now I would say Judge and that card would be cracked.
