I was originally going to be making fun of fielding, but after looking way more in depth, I found something that everyone should see as an MLB The Show DD player! It is really disturbing.
So, uh, I was looking at some film from my recent game, seems that I have encountered several problems with PCI placement and fielding! At this point, I don't care because it isn't getting fixed, but jeez the evidence is here, and I think it is cold hard evidence that the game is screwing people for the most stupidest reasons. Probably because we need to cater to casual players that need to win so lets give them a standing chance (AT 500-600 level rating in RS)
First, PCI placement:

The ball was above the top line (where a perfect flyball goes) and slightly right of the center circle. Not by a ton, but not to the extent of where the ball was actually hit. The ball was higher than the PCI therefore, the feedback should show the ball higher, no?

-The PCI is slightly off from where the ball was actually hit and where the PCI was in the game itself. Furthermore, the ball thrown was a straight 4 seam fastball, the thing is not moving like a cutter, so the placement on the feedback is slightly off, and the game registers that instead of where the ball was, top circle middle PCI, which would be a "Perfect Perfect".
Synopsis:
Maybe I am completely wrong about hitting, and this is supposed to happen, just doesn't seem correct to me. I may also be looking at the images wrong or there isn't enough to prove anything. But the two balls hit here are shown in nearly the same spot in the PCI. Jackson's ball was pretty much in the middle of the PCI and was shown slightly off the middle and lower than where it was hit in game. Again, I may be wrong.

I am defending my opponent here, he was camping under it, and Henderson with, uh Diamond Fielding, and as routine as it gets, shouldn't have literally whiffed on this ball. Even I could make that play and I don't play center field. This was absolute SDSBS, and just [censored] this guy over.

- Okay WHAT? How the hell does the first baseman not make the play???? It landed 2 feet behind him! The fielding decided that it would lock as his right fielder, WHO HAS NO BUSINESS FIELDING A BALL THE SHALLOW, and the first baseman easily should make the play. However he looks like a complete idiot and keeps running like "AHHNH AHHH PROBLEM!!!". This happens more times than you think! To me, to my opponent, it doesn't matter. The first baseman or second baseman easily make a play on a weak pop up into shallow right field (that is if they are decent). However, the game decided that the best player to field the ball is the RIGHT FIELDER, who is playing out near the wall.
SDS please at least fix the fielding annimations, they really suck right now and really screw over people in very important games. The game should have been 3-1 or even 2-1 but the game messed up and screwed over my opponent, making him rage. It wasn't a fair win and I feel bad that it happened to him because I literally hate that.

Okay whoever thinks it is okay to go up in the market by 100 or 1000 stub intervals is completely stupid. The market works like an auction, the idea of an auction is to get your item for the cheapest possible!!! WHO WANTS TO SPEND 1000 MORE STUBS?!? Especially when those 1000 stubs can go to another player! Go up in 1-10 stub intervals!

It's been almost 2 full weeks of people complaining. It has also been 3 weeks since fielding has been tweaked (at least that's what 1.08 says). It's getting a little ridiculous and I've completely lost interest playing the game. I keep losing because pitch control and fielding mechanics literally [censored] the bed.
I just want an update that fixes something we are all complaining about, that is all.
I understand SDS isn't at the office and it's harder, but I mean it's also been 2-3 weeks and still nothing. Everyone is at home doing nothing at this point and we aren't going back for at least another couple of weeks, if not months. Can sds just push us out a patch that fixes what we are complaining about?
2 things this patch better at least look at: Pitching and Fielding. Idc if it doesn't get completely fixed because it's a lot to fix and all, but just at least get something moving in the right direction with both of them.. pitching: accuracy; Fielding: realistic animations and locking on. Just some little things they can bring back from previous games.
Idk I'm just ranting at this point because I'm losing interest and feel like I've wasted a lot of money on a mediocre game.
Content is great, gameplay is bleh.

Not a lot of people are going to give away their investments, it's risky. Look for cards that have a trend going up, or flip cards that have big sell now / buy now gaps that make you profit. Good luck.

#1 Fielding
-The fielding, as we already know, is completely broken. It either works, or it looks like a little leaguer is trying to field a ball. I have had so many instances where my outfielders do not lock in to the area, don't even put up their glove to make the play, or over run a ball that they never even made an attempt to field. I also can't seem to catch anything at the wall (if it is going to hit off the wall). You can't really jump and make a catch crashing into the wall. At least robbing homeruns works and laying out for balls (at least for me).
-Infielders can also be really glitchy. I have players that over run the ball, goes right in between their legs, or they noodle arm it across the infield. Not to mention these players are so much better in real life and they just seem like they just made it onto their varsity high school team as a backup.
Now the throwing is fine as long as you use meter, or else you are screwed because who knows where the ball is going (especially with very good arm accuracy)
#2 Pitching
-Okay okay, I know that they said they increased pitch accuracy a couple of weeks ago. To be completely honest, there are still some flaws. The pitching accuracy got better, however, I still tend to lose control when I shouldn't be losing control. I lost a game earlier when Kopech, who threw 5 no hit innings, had a fastball go right down the pipe (I aimed for it to be high and tight). I believe I have very decent command and control on the mound, and I did last year in 19. But I just can't escape the long ball on pitches that literally go right down broad.
#3 Making HR/9 mean something
-People with really really high HR/9, in theory, shouldn't give up 3-5 HR in 4 innings, right? Wrong, in MLB The Show it doesn't matter if your pitcher doesn't give up HRs. It only matters if the hitter on the other end can square something up. For example, someone like Greg Maddux, shouldn't be hit around like a [word that rhymes with long] at a party. He didn't really get hit hard when he pitched IRL, so why should he be hit in this game, especially his All Star season card?
-I believe HR/9 is really over looked. Since there is a new feature in the PCI that shows us the different levels like Flyball, Line Drive, and Grounder, someone with a higher HR/9 should decrease the size and ability to square up the ball and hit it a mile.
Again, just an idea and would be cool to actually see them do something with HR/9, because it really seems like a placebo stat
#4 Hitting
-I believe hitting isn't the same since the game came out. One of the first updates really screwed it up. Hitting seems unpredictable. Early, Okay can go out. Now, I am not discrediting the fact that a dinky little wall-scraper in real life doesn't happen. However, early swing timing, with "okay" contact can go out for a long, and I mean LONG, HR. Doesn't seem right. And the squared up balls always seem to go straight to someone, and the perfect perfects can be anyone's guess on where they go.
#5 Great idea, but..
-I love the idea of choosing your pitcher, it really does give you a true sense of being able to have control of who gets to throw. However, this has led to many games having 1 of the following pitchers on the mound: Kluber, Newhouser, and maybe 2 others. It just has gotten super repetitive and bland. I keep facing the same 3 pitchers all the time. It is okay, but just seems redundant. I think the pitcher regeneration of energy is cool but maybe it should take them longer than 3 games to get back to full energy (obviously depending on how much they threw).
I believe sooner or later we will learn how to hit off them, but we just have to deal with it right now.
#6 BR to Hall of Fame
-It is time to bump up the difficulty, everyone is hitting bombs on there. Every game consists of about 6 HR total and a lot of runs scored. Sometimes you get those games where you score one or two, but again, the first 4 points I mentioned play factors into why BR is a blowout gamemode. It seems like you can't get anywhere in BR unless you are consistently playing good and not getting screwed up by the fielding or the opponents hitting.
#7 Showdown
-Pain in the [censored]. It still has glitches and sometimes it seems ridiculously hard. But it really is a good gamemode for getting Team Affinities done and getting a lot of XP and making stubs (if you can do it without ripping your head off).
#8 New moments
-Jackie's card got botched. It shouldn't have been his veteran card, imo. I believe we should have gotten a better card. And his moments are really hard and it makes me want to scream all the time.
-Some of the other moments are really challenging that are coming out and it just takes forever to do all the moments, but very rewarding in the end.
*Feel free to add or critique. I believe I have summed up what a lot of people have been saying about the game so far, and at least write the ones I agree with. All of the 8 things that could be improved on are what I believe should be fixed at some point in the near future to make the game solid.

It's just a guessing game this year, you can literally be on one game, and off the next.
But if someone has good splits (100 MPH FB with lets say 90 or below every other pitch) it's gonna be hard to time him up if you sit off speed or fastballs. Just the nature of the game.

I completely agree my guy, the fielding hasn't really worked at all in this game. Good fielders drop or make errors on routine plays looking like they never played a game in their life.

I think since they can choose the pitcher, we should be able to see if we are facing a lefty or a righty. I think it would be fair because it would really help set up a line up. I don't even care if I know who it is, but knowing if what side they thrown on would help.
Why should it be implemented? This is what happens in real baseball, you actually know who is throwing and get to set up the lineup however you want since you know who is throwing.. just a suggestion.

You also have to realize they are doing the best they can from their homes. It is completely different working at home from the office. Give them a little slack because they are still pumping updates out.

Ohtani is one of the harder pitchers to hit along with Kluber.
Soto, Olson hit a lot of homeruns.

Okay so lets screw the good players, make them rage, delete the game, and not play the game. Ranked meant to be hard, not easy. If you can't hang in the 700-800 range, then you aren't meant to. Lets not screw over the people who are good and let the casuals get to the point where they can get in the range. I feel like you need to prove you are good and not rely on glitches and bad animations.
