I have seen game developers working before most actually do a lot of work from home and play the game to find the bugs. So the pandemic should not have anything to do with the fixing of coding to fix the bugs. Really they should be able to have remote access which I'm sure they do and can edit the coding in real time. I use team viewer to control my clients computers in labs across the county. This isn't the days of having to send in notes through email and have someone in the office implement them like they did on grandma's boy.

The fact that the players league guys are complaining about the fielding and pitching does make it seem like they will fix these issues. I feel like they should have just kept the engine of 19 and added in showdown and taken out storylines cause 19 was nice. Had its quirks but you could rely on fielding and pitching for the most part.

HR/9 was actually effective at the beginning of 19, but they removed it because it was unrealistic and made no sense.

Basically, a pitcher with high HR/9 could magically stop a ball in the air to prevent it being a homerun. That was universally panned, so they reverted it back to just being a sim attribute again. And that’s where we are today.

I think they can do something like making it harder to get squared up and get hit deep. I think they need to fix the hitting and pitching first, but it would be cool to see them experiment with it and have some beta testing go on with some better players to see if it would work.

I think they should have some beta testers to test and see if things work from the community, but that is my opinion and maybe it wouldn't work.

They did that in the beta before the game came out and it was great. Then they updated and jacked things up. Great idea and i don't mean to step all over your post but thats what the original beta was for and they jacked it with there premature updates

I agree that the problems need to be fixed and SDS needs to do a much better job communicating.
But they aren't pushing out content in place of fixing the game. It's not one or the other.

The content team and gameplay team are two separate things. Guarantee you the content team wouldn't know the first thing when it comes to fixing gameplay.

But you would think that the gameplay team would've had this fixed? Because the fielding was fine last year so I don't see how they could figure something really simple out by looking at past code. It is just really annoying that everyone is complaining and we aren't getting anything in return. I just want them to fix the fielding next update 😕

Trust me, I do too, I've been playing a lot less. I would guess the real-world circumstances are hurting them being able to fix it right now, but these types of issues were known in the Beta, so it's hard to give them to much slack.

But it's obviously NOT a simple fix or they would have done it by now, so IDK.

Just let us see R or L, not the name of the pitcher. Or better yet, one locked roster with one lineup for RHP and one for LHP. Back out and take a loss.

So in the first image, the ball that you got slightly under was a home run and the ball that you squared up was a line drive with similar exit velocity? What am I missing?

Just the fact that you can hit the ball the same way pretty much and one be a "Good Good" and go out and a "Good Squared" is just a hard lineout to right field, like playing catch.

Squared up is always going to result in a line drive. Sometimes you hit it right at a fielder, sometimes you don’t. The ball that was hit for a home run was slightly under the ball, giving it a better launch angle for a home run. Physics is fun.

If you can’t hang with the big dogs, stay on the porch with the pups.
