    When I Say Packs Suck...
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

When I went back over my packs from the last two weeks, I counted 218 Regular Packs. In those packs, the only Diamonds I received were Wade Boggs Easter, Corbin Carroll, and Sean Hjelle Easter. Combined, they roughly come to about 7000-8000 stubs value. And that's the three I got out of 218 packs, so roughly 1:70 packs. And they're not even truly good ones.

So when Ohtani's going for over 500,000 stubs and Judge and Witt are over 200,000 stubs, it's ludicrous. I play from 3-4 hours a day. Earning packs and stubs is a grind, and then you don't get much reward for them.

Other packs have not been much better. I got a Curtis Grandson out of 17 Headliner packs. No diamonds in 8 Deluxe packs.

While I'm happy for these guys who post online how they got two Ohtanis in one pack, what the game developers are doing this year in terms of terrible card distribution and endless grinding to get those crumbs, it's infuriating.

I refuse to be coerced into buying stubs from them. Those of us who play the game as regularly and consistently as I and others like me do should be rewarded with better card distribution or a more lucrative way to earn stubs. Because this isn't working.

  • Easy Fix for Dashboarding, SDS -- DO IT!!!
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

This seems incredibly simple, and I don't understand why SDS can't fix this problem that plagues the game online. When a player hits a home run, it's clear that the announcer knows it and the crowd knows it, ergo, the program knows it. So just count the [censored] HR and RBIS and Runs from the MOMENT THE BALL LEAVES THE BAT. Don't wait for runners to cross the plate, and let little, stupid, [censored] players pull the plug and cheat people of their rightfully earned stats. How hard can that possibly be to program?

I was playing a Ranked Season game, grinding out points for the August players to both A) get the Mookie card for the current program and B) grind out the last points I needed for the Extreme Program and Donaldson card.

I'm playing a tight 0-0 pitcher's duel, the kind of game that anyone who likes baseball can appreciate. Finally, in the bottom of the ninth, I have the bases loaded with two outs. He throws a 2-0 fastball down the middle and I crush it for a grand slam for Alex Bregman, who needs the points. And this complete, disrespectful, hateful troll of a person dashboards the game, so I don't get the HR, RBIs, etc. What a pathetic sore loser. Makes Billy Martin seem like a grateful gentleman.

I'm fed up with this happening -- as are a lot of players -- and it's high time SDS fix it. I spend enough time on this game not to have to lose valuable player points and do more work to achieve what's rightfully been earned. Fix it.

  • Market Inflation!!!
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

Prices are insane. Packs suck. And earning stubs takes forever. The balance this season is inexcusably way off.

  • Struggling for motivation to play
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

Could not agree more. Pack luck is abysmal and inexcusable. Prices are insane, which, with poor pack distribution, makes it impossible to complete the Live collection. Everything is a slog. It takes forever to earn stubs and points. I've played every day for 3-5 hours a night and STILL have not finished the 2nd inning program yet (should happen tonight, with about 5 days left, but very late considering I got the 30,000 bump from the previous Inning program cards). And once you hit around 100,000 in any Team Affinity it takes FOREVER to move forward with huge gaps between rewards. Seriously not feeling it this year compared to previous seasons.

  • 1st Time Ever Owning All The Cards... Almost
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

So, for the first time ever I own every player card without ever buying any stubs and as a, basically, .500 level player. Well, almost all the cards. I don't, as it turns out, own Matt Harvey or Trevor Bauer -- two players that were suspended in baseball, and, I'm assuming don't have their cards distributed any more in packs. Anyway, I put in Buy orders for both but don't see either of them going through. I guess I'm just going to accept that I won't get those two and declare victory for having gotten all the other ones. Honestly, never imagined being able to do this.

  • account reset fix
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

Did not remotely work. Now my game app on the iPhone and the website show me as having zero stubs and zero collected cards. This is a nightmare.

  • Negro League Players
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

It's insane and kind of insulting that they don't. Ironically, what they're doing, is still keeping the Negro League Players out of the majors. Because if they don't count to your Team Affinity goals, etc., you're going to opt for players who do. It's beyond stupid. They should either just assign a ML team to the Negro League Players or find another way for their stats to count. Otherwise, it's the same segregation all over again. What a perfect way to (dis)honor the players.

  • Pitches Jumping In Weird Ways Online
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

Is anyone else experiencing this? I'll try and throw, say, a changeup low and away, and it suddenly jumps mid-flight and flies over the umpire's head. There's some glitch here. It happens pretty frequently.

  • Can we please get a fix for Manage Squad freezes?
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

Seriously, it's ludicrous this hasn't been fixed yet.

  • What Is The Story With Hitting?
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

Can someone explain to me how and why I seem to be confused by how PCI hitting works. I look at the analytics in the left corner of the screen, and will see that I hit the ball more or less in the center of the circle and right in the middle of the green good zone, and yet the hit was a lazy flyball. Repeatedly. Meanwhile, I'll throw the other team a slider inside about a foot out of the strike zone, and it gets laced for a double down the line. Is this how it's supposed to work? I understand how now and again a "Perfect" hit will be a line drive right at someone (although that seems to happen far too often), but I don't understand how batted [censored] that seemingly fall within the desired metrics aren't hits, and poor contact outside the strike zone repeatedly fall in for dunkers or seem to find every hole in the infield and go for hits. I'd love it if someone from SDS could chime in here, because I'm really getting sick of it.

  • Legends of the Dashboard Event
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

As I posted elsewhere, if the announcer knows it's a HR, and the crowd knows it's a HR, then, clearly, the computer knows it's a HR and should be able to count it the MINUTE IT LEAVES THE BAT. Don't give anyone even a chance to quit before it counts. Simple. Also, like DeleteyourTTVBTW's suggestion, too.

  • Why aren't fielders moving quicker? (Or do I have a setting wrong?)
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

In playing Mini-seasons (and I think Conquest, too), I've noticed my fielders are super slow to react. They almost even seem to break in the wrong direction at first. It's driving me crazy, because I'm trying to move them with the controller, and they're just sitting there for a second before finally moving. I keep giving up hits they should be able to catch.

From what I can tell, I have the settings right. I have it on whatever the computer assist to react to the batted ball. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there something I'm not doing right or a setting that could be wrong? Thanks for any help.

  • Pack Luck
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

It's insane and infuriating. I've had similar pack luck, and it just makes the game exhausting. I've never gone 10-0 in BR, so for those who can, hey, good for you. But players who don't devote their lives to this game rarely do. The crappy packs with low value cards makes it almost impossible to buy the cards, and combined with the poor odds of getting valuable cards, really makes the game a mindless, tiresome grind. The reality is it takes well over 2 million stubs (maybe even closer to 3) to complete the Live series. And without finishing the Live series, you're not going to get to the Rolen card (and even that requires more pack luck or a LOT more stubs). It's ludicrous. And I resent having to play players who have all the 99 cards online when I have little chance of seeing any of them for a good, long time despite playing the game regularly. (And then, of course, you'll encounter those players in something like BR who'll immediately thwart any chance of going 10-0). It's worse than any time I can recall and really diminishes the fun of the game when you have to seemingly grind forever and still not have a shot at completing collections or getting the best cards until mid-season. It's obvious they can control the pack luck, and it's obvious they're severely limiting it. And I refuse to buy stubs. I pay enough to play online each month and having bought the game originally. I'm not giving them any more of my money and resent the attempt to get me to do so.

  • HRD pack worth it?
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

I bought two and got one low and one mid player choices with current sale values of around $10-11,000. So, at least in my case, lost about $40,000 in stubs on the deal. Not super happy about it. But that's the roll of the dice factor.

  • Extreme Cole/3 HR Moment -- WHAT???
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

I think they must have changed it after the update. FWIW, I FINALLY managed to complete it by hitting 3 HRs in 3 ABs, after coming maddeningly close over and over. Finally went Brett, Alvarez, Ortiz. I also finally won the Hall of Fame game, so I've completed all the Extreme Moments and the Conquest Map -- two things I really never saw myself capable of doing. But I think it's made me a better player. I mean, I was able to hit HRs off Nolan Ryan on Hall of Fame Level! What?! I NEVER thought I could do that. The one thing I can't see myself doing is the Extreme Showdown. It sounds impossible by most accounts. As it stands, as soon as I get Wood to his final level and finish the 25,000 XP points I'm working on, I'll have gotten Cano and be at 91 points (and get 30,000 pts for the current program). Then, I think, unless someone convinces me otherwise, I'll skip the Showdown and just gradually grind out the 25,000 XP 3 more times to get to 100 pts. and eventually get Donaldson.

  • AL East and Central legends revealed
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

It just gets boring that they keep recycling the same players. I know they probably need to make license deals, but it would be fun if we saw some new players in these programs.

  • Toxic players
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

If you don't want Pujols or Ortiz to bunt with a man on third, don't play your infield back. That's not a player being toxic. That's a player exploiting your defense.

  • Events
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

Totally agree. Sometimes I'll get on a roll and get 4 or 5 wins in a sitting. But more often than not it's getting one win by enduring 10 losses by guys that hit every pitch not in the strike zone for a single and every pitch in the strike zone for a home run. What I basically do now is if it's clear they're going to hit everything I can throw, I just quit quickly (never dashboard, just quit). That way, they can move on, good for them, and I don't have to waste any more time getting crushed and can move on to a more evenly matched opponent. I'll stick it out in Ranked to earn the innings however or in BR to accrue whatever points I can. They'll mercy quit you in Ranked, but not in BR for some reason.

  • I HATE the new abbreviated counts in Events!!!! WHY has this been added?!
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

What is the brilliant idea behind starting the counts in Events? I played my first game this year and had no idea what was going on when I struck out on the 2nd pitch, and then I saw the new change. I utterly, totally detest this stupid new change! Why did SDS do it? It' s not remotely baseball. It takes away strategy (like bunting, for example) when you suddenly have 2 strikes before you've even set foot in the box. CHANGE THIS BACK!!!! It's the worst change you've ever made.

  • Question for Elite players
  • macdaddy-o_PSNM macdaddy-o_PSN

I think it must have something to do with joystick control. I'm always checking to see where my cursor was after I swing, and it's insane! I'm always going too low or too high, never where I'm intending it to go. I find it very hard to line up the cursor to the ball, in general.
