When I Say Packs Suck...
-
When I went back over my packs from the last two weeks, I counted 218 Regular Packs. In those packs, the only Diamonds I received were Wade Boggs Easter, Corbin Carroll, and Sean Hjelle Easter. Combined, they roughly come to about 7000-8000 stubs value. And that's the three I got out of 218 packs, so roughly 1:70 packs. And they're not even truly good ones.
So when Ohtani's going for over 500,000 stubs and Judge and Witt are over 200,000 stubs, it's ludicrous. I play from 3-4 hours a day. Earning packs and stubs is a grind, and then you don't get much reward for them.
Other packs have not been much better. I got a Curtis Grandson out of 17 Headliner packs. No diamonds in 8 Deluxe packs.
While I'm happy for these guys who post online how they got two Ohtanis in one pack, what the game developers are doing this year in terms of terrible card distribution and endless grinding to get those crumbs, it's infuriating.
I refuse to be coerced into buying stubs from them. Those of us who play the game as regularly and consistently as I and others like me do should be rewarded with better card distribution or a more lucrative way to earn stubs. Because this isn't working.

I went through my packs today. I haven't opened anywhere near what other players have—only 77 regular packs—and I have not pulled a single diamond from those packs. I have only one live diamond—deGrom—from a gold card pack on early access opening night.
I know I have to play more to get more packs, but that's a whole other issue.

Totally agree and it’s a big reason I’m backing away from DD. It’s a joke.

I think most people’s pack luck is about the same as it usually is, some years I pull a lot and some years nothing. The problem is the gate keepers keep getting more expensive and there isn’t a way to play this game to make up for it. Getting rid of event and br rewards and making it all in one, kills stub making. I think diamond quest has actually killed the market in the fact that you earn a lot of bronze, silver and golds, so everything but the gatekeepers and chase cards are at quick sell value. With no other real avenues to grind and make Stubbs, it makes it feel like your pack luck is worse, especially when you’re grinding and the gate keepers keep going up and even when you do pull a diamond and it’s not a big boy, it’s essentially worthless and feels like a let down.

I still have 12 Conquest maps to play.
All City Connects, all USA, Jester, Grapefruit, Cactus, and Horse Sh__, but feel the packs I earn will be duds as well.
The lack of even 1 gatekeeper is just absolute BS.
Something has got to change. Juice the packs if that is the answer.
Some of us are ready to storm the SDS offices. Forget the Elly takeover. We're ready to take over SDS coding and juice the dang packs ourselves 🤪
Just kidding, of course but dang.
I don't mean to whine, but spread the wealth. -
I had felt this way myself, but tonight I pulled back to back jrams in a regular pack and a headliner 1 pack, which since I already had him at parallel five, was 300k profit. I was so fed up with BIAH odds I started teaching them manually. After 37 packs I got a Wade Boggs. Sometimes you just hit a dry spell.
-
At this point the pack odds are absolutely meaningless. I pulled judge like 3 weeks ago and since then I’ve opened maybe 20 BIAH packs, 20 headliners, and about 200 regular packs just to live series Freddie freeman who is worth like 5k stubs. I even bought the premier and deluxe packs as much as possible to try and pull Jorge polanco and nothing but repeats

I just got Ohtani from a regular pack Saturday. It was on my last live stream on twitch. Uploaded to YouTube.
I fell off my chair.
I sold it because I saved up the stubs to buy it.

I play a lot...A LOT. I've completed every program. All but 1 conquest map, all the showdowns, all Diamond Quest maps but 1, completed 2 mini seasons, and have every TA team up 160 000. That's a lot of, A LOT of free packs. The amount of diamonds to packs is pathetic. The amount of quality diamonds even more pathetic. Even golds are more scarce than I remember. I get it, good luck and bad luck and I've had a roller coaster year as far as luck but outside of Trout and Tatis Jr it's been pretty lame. Nothing like pulling Snell and Merrill 5x each.

Yep, and I’ve heard this same thing numerous times and been thru it myself this year. It’s more than just dry spells it’s clear they have made the gate keepers extremely scarce to drive up prices, slow the power creep, and force people to spend money or go without.

I haven't pulled a live series card in four weeks. It's amazing to think Sony or SDS thought that it would be a good idea to do this. Everything I've read online is that this is motivating many people to play the game less, including me.

Ive pulled Trout and Mookie, but other than that only 95s. But I also know that if I keep playing I will complete LS eventually.
My biggest annoyance was getting a premier egg hunt pack, and getting the only 3 cards i already have. Then my next 3 single cards were of the same guys as well. I have yet to see a mid or rare round from either a new thread or egg hunt
I know this stuff is all fairly cheap, but I prefer using my stubs on stuff like the weekend classic cards that are for all intents and purposes unearnable for me

Earned 18 regular packs today, 5 Headliners, 1 Ballin. Pulled Adley Rutschmam and Gunnar Henderson . A couple of golds.
