I find that when the ball comes off the bat, you can tell if it was hit well or not, but the feedback doesn’t always match what I see off the bat. For example, I see that I hit under the ball and too much to be a HR, but my feedback says it was almost dead center. It was still a flyout, but the feedback just seems off. I can’t say its 100% of the time, but often enough to leave me curious about this

Nah... this is ridiculous and completely ignorant!! You’re probably referring to that pitcher who is suing the Astros, who had a career era over 6 anyway, who was a terrible pitcher and blames the Astros for ruining his career when he just wasn’t good.

If people actually just looked at the stats and how this effected what happened on the field, you will quickly realize that the only negative effect it had was on the Astros hitters.

Everyone has accused everyone for about 3-4 years now. Just HOU is at the forefront. Lance McCullers was calling things out in 2018 and said the word EVERYONE. But with sports "scandals", there's never ever going to be a league wide investigation when it comes to whole franchises. You can't kill interest in a sport with a rogue villain; you can when it's league wide.

The thing is, I’ve always thought sign stealing is bush league, but its been a part of the game for a very long time.

Even as the Astros have clearly been heavily involved, the stats have shown that it not only hasn’t helped their performance, it has actually hurt their performance. Doesn’t excuse anything, but this narrative that they “stole” the championship is just not supported by actual facts.

But you’re right, and that is my thought, Manfred pegs this all on one team rather than the whole league, he can save face for the MLB as a whole

The content really carried the game this year, hopefully in 20 its the gameplay and content working together that keep us playing for a long time.

Honestly, I switch back and forth from 19 and 17, but usually have more fun on 17 tbh

Most of us will pull mostly common FAs and bronze RP, but every now and then you’ll get that sweet diamond. I actually pulled my first diamond via a twitch pack. Wasn’t til July or August iirc, but was still a nice 17k at the time.

If you have the chance, definitely watch, or at least have it running while you do other things. Especially early in the year, these packs will be very valuable

I guess you can look at me like that guy you come across in RS who has some absurd record that indicates he has played an insane amount of games, and you’re left thinking “Get a life man!??!” I’m like that guy, just my record is my kids

I haven't used his SS card yet, but his AS card was a beast for me. He didn't leave until I had Griffey in my lineup. I'm super excited for his SS card.

Is he worth it?? Definitely worth the 25 event wins I would say. If you are looking to get him off the market, wait another week or so and his price will be even lower

The Astros cheated, that is very clear... What really catches my attention is that they ultimately chose to cheat and it resulted not only with them getting caught and in trouble; but it not only did not benefit them one bit, it actually made them worse at the plate.

Even looking at Marwin and his splits, he significantly hit better on the road than he did at home. The Astros had a better record on the road than they did at home. It doesn't excuse them and what happened, but the correlation of a better performance and them cheating is not there.

It definitely is strange that even with cheating they were still better on the road, but who’s to say they wouldn’t have been even worse at home without cheating? We’ll never know because there’s so many small details that can completely change a baseball game. One call can potentially alter who wins or loses, one inch can be the difference between a hit or an out, etc.

Not arguing with you, because you’re right. Just saying the cheating could’ve still possibly benefited them at home.

Marwin’s road BABIP was almost 50 points higher than his home BABIP in 2017, so he was certainly getting luckier on the road than at home.

Years ago, I had a coach tell me one time that my problem was I thought too much. I was analyzing everything and it slowed me down. He told me to stop thinking and just react. That is why we practice and train, so our bodies can react to the way we want it to in a game situation. Professional athletes can do this at a far greater success rate than anybody else.

That is the idea I base my theory on and why their splits were worse at home. The cheating was making them think too much, instead of just reacting by how they have trained their bodies to see the ball, hit the ball. Sure, there were moments of success they had, but the Astros have all the talent to be a great team. That is why they drafted their team, not because they were great at stealing signs, but they were phenomal athletes and baseball players. Then they tried to get cute, and it has hurt them in many ways.

Anyway, just my theory, that's it. There are probably holes in it, but that's what I got for you.

I’m an underdog fan, and with the 50:1 odds, I feel like Tipps has a shot. This is his year!!! (This is the same way I feel about my Mariners every March btw... Its kinda sad)

I think you are on to something... I love baseball, and this is essentially the only game I play. Proof is that my top 3 games played according to sony this year were all MLB the Show going back to 17.

However, it has become stale pretty quick. I mostly play offline, but I really wish I could have gotten into Online franchise. I never knew what it was until they took it out. Now more than ever, I wish they would bring it back.

I like your ideas, and like you said, looks as if some of those things might be coming. But well said!!

My hope is that with this new merger happening with Microsoft, that they will be able to bring it back. I never played it, 17 was my first year back since 09. After reading up on what Sony and Microsoft are teaming up for, it sounds like a perfect opportunity to bring ot back
