Packed an Ohtani during the flash sale waiting for my son’s high school game to start. Then he scored the walk off run in the 10th. I figured I ought to do something I never do and I bought a lottery ticket in the way home and hit $100 on a dollar scratch off, it’s one of those days.

Some of us have been playing the show longer than many of the younger crowd has been alive. Also, imagine a world where your phone was attached to the wall and you didn’t even know what the internet was and over the course of a summer you played over five hundred nine inning wiffle ball games and a full little league/all star season at the same time, and your parents never watched a single practice unless your dad was the coach. But on a rainy summer day you and your buddies played rbi baseball until your nes could heat up a cup of ramen. That was what us 40 year olds remember. That and chasing a ‘89 upper deck card card #1.

They have absolutely dropped the ball on storylines. The Negro League segments are extremely informative and have actually led to my son and I taking a trip to the museum this year. I’m a 40something white dude and I want a homestead gray or Crawford hat like you wouldn’t believe. I just think it would be weird if a middle aged white dude wore one.

I’ve always known about the feats of the negro leaguers and listened to Kendrick’s podcast a lot. But the storylines are just so well done and have a nice reward at the end. Too bad they don’t have a TA program for them. The cards just exist. Biz Mackey was my end game catcher last year and I had every single card in the game. This mode could be soooooo much more.

On my drive to work this morning I hit three red lights! The odds are that I shouldn’t hit more than 1. Fix this!

The three of the same card is complete BS. SDS can easily fix this. Any jr high coding student could fix this. The lack of pulls in a 50 pack is disappointing but typical. But the 3x repeats is unacceptable. This happened to me a few times now on packs I purchased.

I love the people who show no empathy on here. I’m currently playing the show with one eye. I had Retina reattachment surgery and have an oil bubble in my one eye until at least August. It has made getting above WS nearly impossible for me, but I still enjoy the game. Some modes I don’t mess with because of the difficulty in hitting consistently with precision. I like the suggestion of making the cards sellable and repeatable for folks. It hasn’t locked the dq cards up or ruined the market in that mode. How much of an impact could doing the same thing to showdown have?

I absolutely think the Show needs to continue the live series collection rewards. The argument that no other sports game does this is EXACTLY why they need to continue to do it. I play several other “Ultimate” team games and they are money grubbing modes. I’ve always enjoyed the balance that the Show has struck between content for NMS players and the whales. Last year I had the LS done after the first roster update NMS. Good luck having the meta that early in any other game NMS. Keep the Show different.

Let’s make this real simple. If you don’t like investing stay out of this thread and go post somewhere else. Disparaging people and calling them lazy, mentally suspect, losers does nothing to advance the conversation in a positive manner.

I spend a lot of time at my kids ball games. There is a lot of downtime. It takes me all of five minutes to put orders into invest. I don’t do social media of any sort. So when others are doing whatever it is on social media, I’m investing. I sell off when someone gets a rough outing. I buy up on guys I like. Mason Miller was a classic example last year. I saw him pitch in college at a local game. Was rooting for him. Started buying his cards. Made a mint. Never sat aimlessly in front of my tv on the show doing this. Did it all in downtime during my daily routine. I’m not lazy, I invested my time in something that mattered to me, instead of algorithms that numb the mind. I don’t get the vitriolic take many have about investing. I guarantee I played more hours than most last year. I also had every card I ever wanted due to investing.

Apparently DQ was too profitable for the players. I’m sure the excuse will be “we received feedback from our players that it has become an online exploit” or some garbage like that. All this is is a thinly veiled attempt to nerf a known stub making method. Throw on top of this that I have completed stadium challenges five times on GOAT and received no rewards, not even a standard pack. When I emailed them a complaint I received the same copy and paste email stating that “they can’t do anything about it” and essentially to go pack sand. I don’t need to farm stubs this way, but it is discouraging to know players have lost a method that worked. But it’s their business to run.

I don’t buy the whales/grinders/no lifers. I can literally complete a single stadium run in under 20 minutes. I’m non of the aforementioned folks.

I highly recommend reading this on X. Hilarious to read through a few people on the streamer’s X feed. I’m assuming the older female is his mother. It’s worth a read.

That's a ridiculous response but one expected from the fan boy section.

Why don’t you answer his question? That is how discussion occurs. I know our society is gearing towards just shouting down your opponent, but your slapping him (of all people on here) as a fan boy is both misinformed and lazy.

@JoeSelser_PSN They could make these parallel cards so much more fun and engaging. In the card collecting hobby there are 1/1s to 1/♾️s. Why not mix that in to the game in some way. Also, change the card art more than just the lower corner. Give us black border, blue border, cracked ice, etc. it’s a little thing in the grand scheme of things but many of us enjoy collecting as much as playing.

But remember the thousands of hours I played this game in the past weren’t enough and that the market is healthy!

I like the Allen and Ginter-esque font. Looks cool. I’m almost as excited to see Brian Reynolds (as a Buccos fan) get a card as I am to see Griffin debut tomorrow.

What doesn’t have me excited is the thought of pulling a diamond in a standard pack in August and it being one of these cards.

I feel bad for @sds_joek_psn he has to come on here and dampen the fires created by a TEAM of people and is at most a singular voice in the decision making process. I really wish SDS would allow for some zoom calls with some of us REAL game users and not their influencer cabal. Get some real feedback from real players. YFK doesn’t come close to representing me and most of the folks I read on here. Yet his voice means so much more to the SDS team. It wouldn’t be hard to look at our posts on here, view our playing data and reach out to schedule a zoom call. It wouldn’t cost them anything more than man hours and could gain feedback. If someone acts like a fool then SDS can hit end call. Won’t happen, but a manchild can dream.

She struggled getting a word out clean. I am a color commentator for my high school’s football team and sometimes sit in on the baseball games. There are words I will not use on air because I don’t want to stumble on them. Ashley HAD to say the word Negro all stream long. She was in a very very tough situation. As I stated above her performance on the streams annoys me at times. However, she does deserve some criticism but not the sexist comments, undeserved blame, and now this great big nothing burger.

@Dolenz_PSN I get that many people hate DQ, but I can at least stomach it. I hate the showdowns. I’ve never been good at them (my problem), but locking cards that are needed for the collection rewards behind them and not allowing those cards to be sold on the market is a major pita. It took me much longer to complete Jon Don than it would have if that Spring Breakout wasn’t showdown locked.
