Goldschmidt is on fire the last 15 games. Problem is he is another 1st baseman so I think that eliminates him, same with Alonso. Betts would be nice but he already has a mid 90 diamond, but he would still be a popular choice with position flexibility. I think they will go with Story. I know he just got a 91 but you are looking at a 95 (maybe 96 if they go crazy) at 2b. I think most people would take that. If they use his monthly average instead of season he could easily get 90s contact both sides with 110s power both sides and throw in some speed. Yes please.

I've said it before, that as much as I know that the vast majority don't want another 1B, I hope they don't exclude a worthy candidate because of their position. I think they already put enough limits on the POTM card for other reasons so I don't think they should add even more restrictions.

As for Story, I am not sure how you can give him 90's in his contact rating even for a POTM card. Unless you just want the card to be 100% fiction and have no basis in his actual monthly performance. He is batting like .237 for the month of May.

As much as I would love a high Story card I agree he isn't getting it. I think after eliminating 90+ diamonds it has to be Goldschmidt. To me POTM is POTM regardless of position repeats. Also to me high contact cards play better than power cards this year so he would be a beast.

    Who are the 4 Aces?

    Cliff Lee, Halladay, Hamels, Oswalt.

I still think Steve Carlton would be awesome and yes Brad Lidge and possibly Papelbon.

Only if Papelbon's card art is him choking out Bryce Harper

I could see it being Goldschmidt. I would love for it to be Trevor Story if he stays on this tear he's on right now. Love his cards in this game.

As a Mets fan who so badly wanted D'arnaud to be the answer at catcher he is not. He has definitely improved since leaving the Mets but if you look at him as a top guy then I can't take your opinion seriously on players

Literally has the best throw out percentage in baseball this year along with being in the top 5 in advanced metrics for framing and and blocking, is among the top offensive catchers this year. His pitching staff absolutely swears by his game calling ability. Clubhouse leader. But yeah you’re right he’s definitely not a top flight receiver. What a clown!!!

P.S. He also kills the Mets when he sees them!!!

Are you sure the site you get your stats from correct cause according to ESPN and other websites there are about 5 catchers ahead of him in throw out % alone. I've also seen you be extremely confident yet get proven wrong time and time again on these forums so being called a clown by you will be taken as a compliment! It shows that you just look at numbers and don't actually watch the players you speak so confidently about.

"Willson Contreras hammers baseballs. He has upped his average exit velocity every season since 2017. It was methodical at the start; 88.1mph in 2017, 88.5mph in 2019. But then, 89.8mph in 2020, and 91.8mph in 2021. He consistently peppers balls north of 110 miles per hour. This past year, he had both the highest hard-hit rate and the highest launch angle of his career. All-in-all, he logged his third 20-homer season while getting on base at a .340 clip.

    AD – CONTENT CONTINUES BELOW

Defensively, he’s got a hose. In 2019, he logged the third-best average pop-time in Major League Baseball, only three-hundredths of a second off of J.T. Realmuto for the top spot. He plays with runners. If Yadier Molina perfected the back-pick at first base, Willson Contreras is the best copycat.

If the question is Willson vs. Sean Murphy for the sixth spot on this list, Willson’s 29 years old. He’s got a career 114 wRC+ and logged a 109 wRC+ last year. Murphy is a career 109 wRC+ with a 99 wRC+ in 2021. In 2022, with the track record and recent offensive success playing in, Willson is slightly preferred."

Just a quick Google search for best catchers has him In everyone's top 10 list and here is a good explanation I pulled out of why he's looked at so fondly. Also trying to say D'arnaud is a top catcher clearly shows you e never actually watched the guy play.

Maybe I'm way off here but how would this sound:

    Mets receive:
    Willson Contreras

    Cubs receive:
    Mark Vientos
    Jose Butto
    Choice of Nido or Mazeika

    Butto I like.

Vientos doesn’t really fit what the front office has been trying to do, ridding their lineup of swing and miss guys.

I’d imagine they aren’t interested in another C unless it’s somebody like Álvarez and I think parting with him is unlikely for a rental.

I would definitely say Álvarez is untouchable right now. Vientos I understand. Mets have a lot of good looking pitching at the lower levels so if the Cubs are looking for pitching depth I'm sure they could find some guys they like.

    @tonythetiger2k16 said in Halladay stinks:

I just got him last night & sold him immediately while he was still listed in the 41K to 40K range. Those stubs helps me get closer to buying at least 1 of the 5 remaining LS Diamonds I need, which happens to be the 5 highest priced LS cards.

If & when I might really need to get PS Halladay to complete an expanded PS Collection, then I will buy him back at that time & his value would have dropped to half of what he goes for now due to so many others getting that far into the Program & then wanting to sell him.

Buy him back before the collection is announced/dropped or that price will skyrocket
