the api is just really a link to the source data being the boxscores, card data etc. being that you can pull it up inside the game itself that means the data is there.... just the access to it through the web is down. gotta be just a broken link somewhere. but i do know that prior to the ultimate "turn off" that the boxscore and api access was dog slow for a few days. that's why i had guessed that there is some resource hogging that was relieved. I could be way off... but i beleive this is why the leagues get deleted after 40-60 days as well. to free up resources. sounds like some tech upgrades are in order.

So being that the API says it's been disabled, that means it was an intentional "turn off". Was this to free up resources in some way? I am able to get game history on the show itself and guys are currently forwarding screenshots of boxscores but it's a horrendous approach. I gotta be brutally honest here... every year we keep buying the game and putting up with custom leagues dissappearing... no league leaderboards, just really the dark corner of MLB the show. I realize you guys gotta prioritize resources to the main areas of the game... but the custom league community should never be taken for granted. Guys playing in diamond dynasty leagues specifically are motivated all year long to grind and buy content for our leagues and that puts money in SDS's pocket. I think if this API turn off was intentional... at least some transparancy would be appreciated so commissioners of these leagues can convey the message. it's a bigger deal than it sounds i'm afraid. a game crash in Ranked would have a fix within a day... we're just asking for some clarity on whats up as this is really the first time in years i've seen this happen. @sds_joek_psn Sorry not trying to give you a hard time... but i am trying to give you a hard time ... lol for our guys that love custom leagues. i'm sure you'll agree @xxoctobernyyxx_xbl @derekf20_psn @dolenz_psn @airdangus23_xbl

We can't rely on the standings in custom leagues because half the games flake out due to connection/server and custom leagues get routinely deleted without notice. for games that crash out i have to combine two-part games together in separate record keeping. so really hoping this is temporary and not something that has been sac'd for the game to run smoother. @sds_joek_psn

Since you decided to weigh in I will reply. Good suggestion. SDS should pair people better. But since they don't do it perfectly yet... If you're throwing at heads... This IS about you. Nobody needs that nonsense. Nothing to do with popularity... is about making the game playable. Also, you say to blame it on SDS instead of take it out on players... doesn't that defeat your whole comment? take it up with SDS before throwing at heads. I get the frustration for guys stealing and bunting with a massive lead gap.. it's bad taste... but hitting homers? What would you like players to do? You swing and things happen... I mean they could sit and watch balls go by and get k'd if it soothed your ego?.. nobody likes a toxic environment except the toxic. Throwing at heads serves nothing for nobody. It only helps you feel better. Ranked play is about improving your rank and people will play to their ability. So getting pissy when people overpower you.. sorry that's just a pride/ego thing. get better until SDS takes your suggestion and does something about it. As you know... they do pair ranked levels together ... but any of those guardrails can be bypassed in creative ways. The moment you throw at my head... You get that 1 out of 5 in sportsmanship. And you get stuck with guys who like to throw at heads. Simple as that. Willing to bet the majority will love that vs hate it.

@Jeff7407_PSN pretty cool. as wacky as it sounds why not give back to the gamers. they could also run a full set of historic players. even mid-level guys people never think of.

very nice. i import all boxscores into AI routines and it autopopulates all stats, league leaders, rating systems and matchup previews. boxscores are kind of a big deal

Our custom league depends hugely on the online boxscores to stat keep and set up league leaders each night. It's been really quite wonky for 2 days and now totally unavailable. Can we expect it to return shortly? Thank you

So it's no secret that playing ranked is one of the most toxic environments there is. It's almost unplayable at times with guys just pulling their ethernet cords the moment you hit a bomb so they can possibly protect their ERA or records. SDS you need to develop a toxicity rating.. or call it showmanship rating i don't care. but guys gotta be called out for bad behaviour. the report button is def not enough. Give people the insentive to play more fairly and with better attitudes by assigning a rating similar to what facebook has on marketplace. the higher the rating of the seller (the player) the more you're likely to play them. Show the rating pre-game and let people decide if they want to waste their time on some kid who will spaz after one bomb. would make the game a LOT better. my 2 cents

Will we see MLB the Show '27 full of legends? or are they also banned? or maybe hold open tryouts and get a bunch of average joe's to fill the gaps in the meantime haha i'll suit up. yes. SDS seems to do this regularly. I typically get about 3 months out of our leagues before they get deleted. drives me bat $#% crazy as we have a lot of invested hours of gameplay with dedicated players. the best work around is to split your season in 2 and create a second half custom league. depending how long your leagues go on for
