My first time ever getting there!! And I finally have a winning record 2 games above .500 lol I still suck but I’ve definitely been improving. Not sure how I feel about hitting 800 I strike out a lot when playing on HOF I would’ve preferred all star still lol but any how I made it!!

Started playing MLB the show 21 and today is the first time I hit 800 rating after I won a 6-5 nail biter. I’ve never thought I’d make it this high cause I hate playing on legend but forced myself to get gud as people say lol. I’m sure I’ll get rocked by someone in the 900+ rating soon to bring me back to reality but in the meantime cheers

I don’t get it if your good at zone hitting and you go up against a time hitter shouldn’t you win the majority of those games? Time hitting your relying on RNG where zone it’s all user skill input.

I okay timing cause I’m not good enough to hit with zone. When I okay online I get crushed by people who know how to hit with zone. I’ll get my occasional hit/ home run but it’s rare I’m lucky if I score more than 2 runs a game lol

I don’t see how bringing in Randy as a loser is a dbag move. It’s actually pretty smart to bring in the best pitcher in a close game. Glad that you got a walk off home run on him. His definitely hard to get hits on even in mini seasons on rookie mode lol.

Why you say that your glad he won’t be available for the next 4 games? If he only played 2-3 innings shouldn’t he be available I’m at max after a game considering he has 115 stamina?

I just pulled together a 5 game win streak in H2H and I can’t believe it. I made a thread a month or so back just how bad I was in H2H and haven’t touched online since I was having a horrible experience but since I completed the LS series I figured I have to play online since I’m not chasing Randy Johnson no more.

5 game win streak ladies and gentlemen!! I don’t know if it’s just luck but I’ll definitely take it. I will admit though everyone I’ve faced I’ve definitely had the superior team so I’m pretty sure that’s helped. I just had a guy quit on me after giving up 4 runs in the 3rd inning to give me my 5 game win streak and put me above a .500 record! I know it’s only a matter of time before I get hit with a reality check lol til than I’ll enjoy and brag about it to you folks thanks for listening!!

And oh my god did it make a HUGE HUGE difference!! I’ve had it set to Cinema for the longest and the amount of very late, too late misses I kept having on any type of fastballs was driving me crazy like every fastball literally too or very late even if I was looking for it and anticipated still same result.

Yesterday I faced some 89 ovr pitcher and same result late, too late, etc and he picked up on it and I just kept throwing fast balls. I ended up with 1 hit the whole game with my god squad.

This morning I went into practice mode and set the pitcher to throw me nothing but fastballs, cutters, sinkers and same thing I was very late or too late on everything even knowing what pitch was coming. It was like the ball was warping to the plate literally.

I finally decided change my TV setting to “game mode” and boy did it make a huge difference. Now I’m early on fast balls and more importantly I can recognize a fast ball no more warping to home plate. I did some extensive testing switching back and forth between my TV setting and sure enough I was always late on Cinema setting every single time. It was just my TV setting that was giving me problems not me lol.

Played a RS game and the dude had an above average record better than mine I’m way below 50% in wins but I demolished him before he quit in the 6th inning after blasting my 5th home run to go up 7-1. What I was amazed about was that I only struck out 3 times when I usually strike out over 50% of my at bats. I can see the ball 10x better again no more warping when the ball comes to the plate. It felt really good being able to see the ball and recognize a fast ball.

I know this is a known thing for most of y’all but if you’re having trouble hitting check your TV settings it could be that and not you.

I still suck lol but I’ve gotten a lot better since I made the switch to Xbox series X, started playing on a monitor, and switched controllers with control freak equipped.

I started the year around 15-41 and I’m not at 95-100 now. I know it’s not a great record but I’ve definitely improved. Going from an Xbox one to Xbox series X has made a huge difference and also playing on a monitor. Fastballs were my kryptonite. Literally every fast ball I was very late on but switching consoles and playing on a monitor has made me see the ball so much better. No more teleporting fast balls coming out the pitchers hand lol.

Also I made the switch from the regular Xbox controller to and Xbox power A controller and boy has it made a big difference in pitching. I’m getting way more perfect pitches now. The Xbox X controllers suck for PPP I would only occasionally get perfect pitches but now I’m getting them way more consistently also I bought a control freak to help smooth it out and make it better. I still use directional hitting but I’m slowly learning to use zone in practice I haven’t made the switch 100% yet.

I been having fun playing this game as opposed to when I was playing on an old Xbox cause I’m finally winning so cheers

Really wish they’d add them back in the store. I already chose my pitchers captains just based off of who I want and wasn’t thinking about a theme team but now looking at the Yankees they look super stacked and would love to try them but I can’t cause I have no more captains to choose from. I went to the store and to see they took that pack out completely ‍️

I was honestly gona make a post about this exact same thing. I’ve always used directional cause I’m not that good.

Just completed a mini season mini seasons and won the championship but I was really really alarmed on how very little home runs I got. I got 10-15 at the most and that’s with playing on Varsity & rookie mode.

I thought it was maybe just cause of the players I was using but I’ve also had my big time hitters get perfect perfect only for it to be a fly out on the track. I have multiple hitter with 90+ power so I don’t think rating is the case. It’s definitely SDS doing it. Sucks cause I’m very terrible at zone and enjoy sitting back and just hitting A when I wanna swing.

Last year we had Randy Johnson who was just a nightmare to deal with for quite awhile but this years master Jeter doesn’t compare to what Randy was last year. Sure he looks amazing but I don’t see him having the same impact Randy did.

McGwire and Sosa look good as well but they’re not worth the millions of stubs spending to get them. I basically did the collection last year specifically cause of Randy and seen how dominant he was. I just don’t see the value being worth it this year. Anybody else feel that way?

Quit then I have the same issue. I’m not that good either. My record is below 50% and if I see I’m clearly matched up against a superior player I’ll play a few innings but once it starts getting out of hand I’ll quit I don’t care about my record. I prefer quality games over stressing over my record lol

I got shut out through 12 inning no hits and still won lol. In the 12 inning I hit a deep ball that was caught by his LF and on my next batter I hit another deep ball that was caught by his CF but I was still able to score and win. 0 hits all game and I still won wow that’s a first for me. My opponent had 3 hits all game as well so it’s not like he was smashing the ball either.

Just a weird stat 0 hits through 12 innings and still won. Mind boggling lol

I posted a month or so ago about how I gave up the game in the 9th inning cause I fell asleep and gave up multiple runs.

Well yesterday it was in my favor. The dude fell asleep in the 4th inning and I put up 56 runs. He ended up up to finally get the last strike. Then I won by mercy obviously the following inning. He messages me after the game to let me know he fell asleep and I was like it’s happened to me before playing late

I took advantage of it and obliterated Dallas Kuchely? All my batters averages went up .310+. Scum move yes but it was fun. Now people will think I’m really good when looking at my averages but I’m barely aight lol

Just got Rollins should have Walker by tomorrow.

I got a tier 3 Santana boost + tier 2 Kershaw boost in one of my lineups. It’s turns guys like John Donaldson, Randy, and DeGrom even more filthier + switch hitting boost tier 3 a cross the board. This might be the most OP squad imo.

I also have a tier 3 Suzuki + tier 3 Senga boost combined which makes Otahni and Senga have +25 in H/9, +20 BB/9, and also +15 to K/9 and clutch which turns them into some of the best pitchers in the game with those boosts.

I also got a Yankees Don Mattingly and Whitey Ford tier 3 boosts and just got Andy Pettitte who so far has been my best pitcher hands down cause I’ve been able to dot every pitch with him. Granted I’ve only played 2 games with him ranked but his giving up 3 hits in those two games with an era of 1.42.

It’s been really fun for me building out and trying different teams/ players which in years past I didn’t do.

Understanding the mechanics of the game is the key to being good at any sport. If you don't know much about baseball you pretty much answered your own question. If you weren't heavily into football do you think you would be any good at Madden? The Show online is pretty much shark infested waters.

Continue playing against the CPU for a while and be sure you understand why you're doing whatever you're doing. Check out some tutorials on YouTube. Watch a lot of baseball.

That’s so true about game mechanics that’s why I consider myself a great Madden player cause I’ve played it for so long and know what the game mechanics will do. Right now I’m still getting an understanding of what terms mean in baseball and their rules. I’ve been paying mini seasons and it’s really been enjoyable. Played like 8 seasons already and won 7 championships on rookie of course lol.

That was your record in the previous season in play offs. The teams you played in the play offs will have the same record as well. Happens to me quite a bit. I start off at 6-0 or 6-1 depending on how I do in the post season. Not complaint at all I just started my season earlier at 6-0, less games to play to reach the play offs.
