Took me probably 4 attempts last night. Dinger and two singles finally.

Problem is incomplete information.
we have here 2 ratings 15 and 10.
now we know 15 is the absolute best cause the devs said so.but they never said anything about any of the others numbers.
10 could be 90%as good as 15, it could be 30% as good.the only ones that know kept their mouths shut.
the only thing "I" know for sure is i never look at the feedback or the ratings and i never get upset or angry, i enjoy the game and have fun.Where do people get these numbers from?
If you go into batter analysis and do some hunting you can find "hitchance", which basically tells you the quality of the contact and the relative likelihood that contact will result in a hit. 15 is the highest rating.

It takes me awhile to focus and adjust if I'm being honest. Also, most people pitch in a pattern and eventually I figure it out. I'm no hitting guru though
This is also true. I almost always go into a game with gameplan A, B, and C with respect to getting guys out. If they're squaring me up on gameplan C, they're just [censored] good with the PCI and I tip my cap.
yeah, there are some seriously good players out there. I don't believe the PCI feedback for the opposing team is broken at all, because I played someone in events earlier today who squared up every pitch no matter where I put it. The results on the field didn't lie and the feedback said he got every single one on the nose. Crazy good hitting because I wasn't pouring it down the middle at all.
Life is so much better when you accept that there are other people out there who are better than you at a video game.

I feel like if I'm going H2H against someone and they quit after the first inning why should my pitcher lose all his stamina? I understand for the guy who quit. But its like you get punished too
This. I feel like last year's version didn't do this.

I just have to strongly disagree with anyone who says pinpoint is better. Analog is just as accurate and less margin for error. You a millisecond off with pinpoint and the ball just goes anywhere it wants. Analog you mess up it atleast still ends up in the vicinity.
As a pitcher, I spend way more time trying to mess with people's timing than location. I stick with analog because if I make a mistake, it usually doesn't end up middle-middle and the timing can still screw someone up.

There are honestly times when it feels like the game is giving me a boost. If I'm just getting carved up in a 2-0 game, I can almost always guarantee that I'm gonna get a couple of fat ones in the later innings and that I'll get a good/early bomb or something. You can feel it when it happens if you're being honest with yourself.

They are being the DB.... just decline it and then let them quit. It’s a bush league move...
Only acceptable times to do a FQ —
Same pitcher.
People make that argument all the time. I wouldn't accept a friendly quit if my opponent has the same hitters as me, so why would I accept one for us having the same starting pitcher? Does your logic apply to the bullpen as well? If I bring in Mariano Rivera, and then they bring in Mariano River in the next inning should one of us send a friendly quit? We both have the same pitcher on the mound.
It makes no sense.
I like playing games like this. Makes it feel more like an even tilt and a test of skill/strategy.

Sometimes if you don't accept it, you end up regretting it LOL. If any pitches are thrown I won't accept it, but if the game hasn't started, I accept it all day. It's only a game.
I should clarify - I'm talking about when I'm up 5-0 in the fourth inning after a couple of dingers. I will absolutely give someone an FQ if we haven't started yet.
-
Can someone help me understand why everyone asks for a friendly quit in Ranked Seasons before they hard quit?
I'm not trying to be a DB, but I'm in RS to try to get wins. I get quitting out because who needs to waste their time on a game they're gonna lose, but come on.

He is my favorite player of all time and it drives me crazy that his swing is so problematic. Especially ironic because dude tinkered with his swing CONSTANTLY through his career.

Cannot emphasize enough the importance of pitch selection. Early in your game, see a lot of pitches, start to get a feel for the timing and break of whomever it is you're facing - and in an online game, you might have minor lag issues as well. Also, every time you swing, you give information to your opponent - what areas you like, what you'll chase, etc. Pitching isn't super-easy either, and if you're patient you will usually get a pitch to hit without having to move your PCI too much.

People like this deserve to be banned.
Why? They're doing nothing to impact online play, and they're not glitching/hacking or doing anything you're not already allowed to.
It impacts online play for people to have cards that they really shouldn't have. I don't blame people for doing this given it's available - I think it's [censored] that SDS hasn't solved it given it's a relatively easy fix:
- no xp earned on quick counts (or at least limit it appropriately)
- no xp earned with fake rosters
- etc etc etc.
Bottom line is, they should be incentivizing playing the game the way it's intended to be played and having skill matter.

Got him out of a headliners pack along with a Machado in the same pack. Might have been my greatest rip of all time.
-
As with many things, they tuned it way too far up. It needed to happen that check swings were more frequently unsuccessful, but now they basically never hold up. It's always about finding that balance, and it seems like they never test it enough to get it right.

I don't know why this company does this with moments. I have a very hate type relationship with moments in this game and the last one so I decided to check out just how stupid things are.
Using the TN Adam Duvall moment, I played it 18 times where you have to get 8 total bases. I did it decently quickly but that isn't really the point. So in those 18 times I have done the moment, not completed, just the moment itself I saw 29.7% strikes. This is on veteran difficulty. I was walked 12 times mostly because I was trying to take a lot of pitches to see what would happen. I struck out 4 times and had numerous hits. I was also beaned 3 times. All 3 times with 2 strikes on me.
So then I jumped into play VS CPU and played vs Atlanta and Mac Fried. In those games, I only played 3 but the whole 9 inning games and faced 73.1% strikes. I drew 1 walk and wasn't hit by a pitch.
This speaks absolute volumes for me on how absolutely stupid these moments really are.
I know, I have no life but I just thought I'd share this completely useless info.
When actual data is compiled and analysed like this it is so much more convincing and satisfying to read than the usual (justified nonetheless) complaint posts. Thank you for thinking to and going to the effort of doing this.
Moments really are the ‘busy work’ of this game. I would also add Showdown, Conquest and Events to that category. In fact, anything that detracts from playing actual baseball or team management (ie grinding) could be classed as busy work (the purpose of which is to keep the player engaged in the game without giving the opportunity to learn anything new or improve any skills). That ain’t baseball.
At least conquest is busywork that doesn't result in high blood pressure .
And you can complete missions and get PXP in Conquest. The fact that you can't in Moments makes them even more annoying. I actually liked it better back in TS18 when you had a million individual game requirements and insane stat grinds - I didn't love that, but it was a lot more satisfying than this. (Anyone remember Daniel Nava?)

We probably should have known something was up when they released the game more than a month later than in previous years.
-
It's also not unprecedented for SDS to add stuff to programs toward the end of the cycle if they suspect that microtransactions and played hours are down. The "secret" prestige XP path last year was basically this.

Go finish up the TAs if you haven't already, and if you have it's time to take your rewards into RS
