It's registering your button press before your thumbstick. Happens a lot to me on fastballs cause it's such a knee [censored] reaction. Either Doesn't move at all or is Slammed all the way to the edge of the zone. Off speed is usually a little easier to track the movement with your thumb before swinging.

Seems like you're having a rough night. We've all been there. I know it's double xp weekend but you're probably not earning much with those goose eggs you're putting up. I'd go in to practice mode and set the difficulty at hall of fame (maybe all star for you) and you'll start seeing improvement pretty quick.

I feel ranked is the best online mode for people new to online by a very large margin. Its the only one with real matchmaking.

I own 200+ Eloy LS cards. That has... not... worked out.

A lot of the Community, myself included, has communicated their dissatisfaction with expiring cards from the onset and the complaints have nothing to do with having, or not having, an advantage over someone in a RS game.

Expiring cards (in relation to RS H2H within the annual game cycle), has more to do with:

Not being able to use your favorite cards (regardless of its rating) in a RS game for much of the game cycle. Paralleling a card is not as rewarding since they expire. Grinding for, or purchasing, a card is not as fulfilling since they are temporary. Forming Captain and theme teams are more difficult due to having to find replacements every couple of months. Etc.

These are all really valid points. I spend so much time grinding for the 99 cards that I don't really get to enjoy them after I get them. This time last year, I had a couple of cards paralleled to 5, not 1 this year. Don't even think I have gotten 1 past parallel 3.

I still grind but agree buying cards with stubs is not as enjoyable since it's a 60-day rental at best.

Last point is also valid as Captains really started having some value in this series but that will diminish once Set 2 is unusable in a week.

I honestly don't hate the game this year as the thread states, but it certainly has changed the game and how I play it, and I wouldn't say for the better.

Well said whiplash. I have 1 card to reach P5 this year and I suspect that will be it for me. I have Set 1 TA at all 100%. I have Set 2 TA also at 100%. For Set 3 TA I have the AL West and NL West at 100% and that's it. Granted the last two weeks I haven't played much due to a lumbar surgery I had but in the scheme of things, I would have already been done with TA3 before I had the surgery. I have simply lost interest to grind mindlessly for cards to do the exchange for better cards because I know they will eventually expire and my time is worth more to me than that.

I wonder, does the speed you move the controller up on analoge effect the speed also?

I am still in 2020, so record really doesn't show the real ability. Mainly looking at the stats. I have played players with losing records, but all their guys were hitting .300 or higher with a lot of homers and RBI. Also had some guys that had not played a lot online but had all the end game cards that can only be earned by beating moments etc. and cannot be bought.

I wish SDS would show a pitcher's record/ERA at the start of the game and their pitches in 2020. I recently got saddled with an insta loss when I played a guy with a solid, but not overpowered lineup, but with 79 control Nolan Ryan was super dotting. You just cannot do much with that unless you are a top tier hitter, which I am not.

The ranking would work for both RS and Event.
So your ranking would be only based on the event. So you would start low but would work your way up as you win games. Or maybe just start an even with a default rank of 300 or something like that.

I use zone analog and do well with off speed below the waste but struggle with fast balls and up in the zone.

I started watching the pitcher and the delivery instead of waiting until the ball was thrown and focusing on the PCI.
It's hard to change your mindset but once you convince yourself that it's your eye and not the bat it makes sense.
It's hard because how you hit in this game. We never hit from a catcher perspective in real life, we were one side or the other so angles are different not straight on so you have to think differently. Once you practice and think that way, it's just different.

When you put a hitter on the mound make it more realistic.

Know the rules of the game. I. E. If a ball touches a player in foul territory and lands in fair territory the ball is fair. (Lost a hit because of this last night)

controlling the content better is great IMO, all the free packs were great for us, but I bet they lost stub purchases due to the overwhelming amount of free packs given out so they closed those gates a bit. I miss TA, and wish they would release lower tier cards of big names instead of all this mid level guys from the 2000's. I don't mind the slow drip on higher level cards, but just wish I saw a 93 Babe Ruth or 94 Pedro or the like
