Can't speak much to the franchise stuff but pitchers don't usually start on the mound for warming up, they start closer to the catcher and then move back. Not sure if that's what is happening in the game but it does happen

Why would they put any effort into fixing last year's game?

Hmm, as a Franchise player I've never heard of this. Is this after you save a game and then come back to it later?
