Pinch Hitters & Runners

Is it me or does the computer never use pinch hitters when you bring in a reliever, i.e. when the opposing team has left-handed batters coming up and you want to bring in a lefty from the pen, to get a better match-up for their batters? I typically do. I also don't see them use pinch runners a whole lot. It makes no sense.

In manage mode I recently saw the cpu use 2 pinch runners and a pinch hitter (DH off) in the same inning.
