I have all 30 AS Vouchers and 5 Finest (Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Padres and Angels). We'll see if the AS Vouchers get redeemed for anything cool but I'm currently not very motivated to grind any further for the Finest vouchers, there's a low chance I'll still be playing this game by the time November rolls around.

I low key like that the inning bosses aren’t that exciting anymore as I can take multiple days off from playing the game without feeling guilty. As long as there’s at least one decent one (Griffey, Jeter).
I have LS complete, all AS vouchers and 750k stubs so I’m just chillin’ and seeing what interests me as it gets released and I’ll focus on any programs/collections that have players I like (Harper) and just ignore the others (Sosa, entire summer program)

@platewelder_363_PSN Harper wasn’t too bad and he’s a ton of fun to play with.
-
Nowhere remotely close and I’m cool with it. I have no strong feelings IRL for Rolen or Williams so I’m fine not getting them.
-
I wouldn’t feel as frustrated about cpu fielding if our fielders acted the same way. A 60 fielding and reaction for cpu is not the same as 60 on our players, ours are active liabilities while theirs are making multiple “play of the year” plays in the same game.
-
For me I would say it’s not “boring” but definitely less motivating. Not being LS complete gave me a very clear goal (grind games for packs and stubs). Now that I’m LS complete, have all the AS vouchers and have about 700k stubs in the bank, I don’t feel like I need to be on every day. I’m offline only so I also don’t feel like I need Rolen/Ted Williams.
I prefer it now to be honest, I can just play mini seasons and conquest with teams full of my favourite players rather than grinding with affinity teams.

The one calculation I usually do is whether the lowest sell order price minus the tax will put me below the quick sell.

It'll be good for some bad for others, that's just the way luck works. I hit Ohtani, 3x Trout, 2x JRam, 2x Lindor so I feel like I'm in the good camp this year. Next year who knows.

@Teak2112_MLBTS Funny because the Chandler Simpson TN card has the highest batting average of any of my cards lol, I found that his lack of power actually really helped drop hits infront of the OF.
-
Is it actually making a difference? I assume Switch improvements are last on their list of priorities and maybe they will do something for next years game.
-
I can’t hit anything with Gil Hodges for some reason, even Beltran has one of the lower averages on my main squad. I replaced Hodges with Delgado at 1B and never going back.

Interesting observations. This is my first year playing The Show since I sold my PS4 but I definitely feel the pain of the bizarre Rookie & Veteran pitching 'logic'. Rookie tends to follow a script of starting the at-bat with 2 very uncompetitive pitches way outside the zone, then usually the 3rd pitch will be near the middle square. This gets tedious in 9 inning games and I end up chasing a lot of early garbage pitches because I just want to get through the game quicker.
My experience with Veteran pitching is mostly from Moments but its so strange to me how I almost never see balls thrown outside the zone (and if they do they are just barely outside the zone). Easily 95% of pitches are strikes that are thrown just inside the lines. NEVER a meatball right down the middle like you periodically see on Rookie. There is no reward for patience on Veteran, its just a test of how fast and accurately can you jam the PCI to the edge of the zone while swinging with proper timing.
I kind of like the reward for being patient in Rookie (don't swing at the first 2 garbage pitches and if you're in a 2-0 count, we will give you a juicy meatball to hit) even though I fall victim to impatience quite a bit
-
Eventually got all 8 done. For some reason veteran moment pitchers are obsessed with the bottom of the strike zone so I just camped my PCI there and hoped for the best. Took more attempts than I’d like to admit to for some of them
-
Ok we are making progress. Still using zone hitting but I’m anchoring the PCI as low as it can go and just selling out for the low garbage pitches. After many many retries it eventually worked for moment 2-5, on #6 now. This isn’t fun by the way SDS lol
-
@sbchamps17_NSW I suck though
I’ll keep trying but I’m not a big Sosa fan so we’ll just chip away
-
Tried it for a few minutes today LOL. “Hit a Home Run while this pitcher jams you inside right on the line or spams sweeper low and away”. I’m not a great player (I play Rookie as my default for a reason) and with the low frame rate on Switch… yikes. Even if I square those pitches up perfectly I don’t think it’s going out.
First program I won’t be completing.
-
I see this with buy orders all the time too, my guess is it’s somebody/bot running a script or program? It happens way too fast to be coincidence. I can usually get them to overpay or undersell too
-
"Hit 1 Home Run" moments are my least favourite thing in this game lol. This will be a rough program for me haha

Not only CPU pitching, but I think the over-performing CPU fielding is making EV seem worse than it actually is. I'm constantly getting perfect/perfect line drives up the middle snagged by the CPU SS as if he's playing with a 125 reaction speed rating. Same goes for line drives over 1B (feels like he's already jumping as soon as contact is made) or ground balls between 1B and 2B being robbed by a diving 2B.

New Harper for me. Went 6 for 6 first game vs CPU so he’s staying. Tatis will play LF out of position
