    Let’s be honest
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

I have given the game time and got to the point where I feel like I could accurately compare hitting last year to this year, as for most of the year last year we were using high overall diamonds almost immediately.

This year’s game is just not as fun as last years when it comes to game play. I find myself playing online way less because I just don’t have as much fun as I did last year. Nuking stadium elevations and whatever they did to hitting (exit velos or balls dying at the warning track, etc. whatever IT is.) has just made it so much less rewarding. I hardly play ranked outside of weekend classic anymore, I don’t play BR at all, and play events a bit to make it through the MP program. Last year and the years before, I played them often. The thing is, I still win the same amount, which is often, I just don’t have as much fun.

Next year I hope they reverse course and give us back high elevation stadiums and revert back whatever they changed this year with hitting. People played in these stadiums because they found them fun. Like I said, this year I am winning at probably a higher rate, but without having as much fun.

I know some in here will disagree and that’s ok, but I think many more out there agree that if this year played like last year, with the cards and content that we have gotten this year, the community as a whole would have been pretty happy. And just for good measure, they should get rid of PCI shrinkage. It’s dumb and one of the reasons why we see so many switch hitters.

  • Who is this content for?
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

They have moved so slow with the power creep, and because they consistently put out better and higher overall chase pack cards, these content drops are rather pointless. Hear me out here, ok.

If someone doesn’t have live series done, I imagine they are mostly no money spent, they should be absolutely selling everything, and I mean everything to be getting it done. Let’s say you don’t want to sell off cards (I didn’t either) you still shouldn’t be out spending your stubs on these pack cards. Getting those end game 99s is awesome and totally worth it.

Now let’s look at guys like me, A NMS grinder. I have the vast majority of the best cards in the game and I’m a little under 400k stubs. Seager and Schwarbs are both great cards to have, but I already have P5 93 Willie Castro at short. I love Seager’s swing, but I don’t think I would replace a P5 93 switch hitter for a 93 lefty. My DH is P5 92 Santana and my catcher is P5 92 Posada. I would never put 92 Schwarbs in the outfield, so again, not moving the needle for me. 95 Vlad looks great, but I have P5 99 Rolen at third and P5 99 Hodges at first. Sure he could be my DH, but is he that much of an upgrade from Santana? I really don’t think so. We have a big collection coming up, along with the new retro lightning card, wouldn’t I just be better served to wait, save up some more stubs so I can be as close as possible to completing those as I can?

Again, if you are an all money spend player, your team probably already looks like mine. Would any of this content move the needle for them or would they just wait to purchase more stubs when the collection comes out?

They are putting the best cards behind chase packs and quickly ticking up the chase pack overall, but keeping other pack and program card’s lower. With this model, they have basically made other pack cards and programs irrelevant. Just finish live series and buy the chase cards! You’ll always have the best team.

I would love to see what data they are looking at because from the outside looking in, their content model doesn’t seem to make sense at all.

@samguenther1987_PSN I agree with you. They somehow made playing versus the CPU even more boring. Every time I play against the CPU on rookie or veteran, I think back to when I started playing the game and I probably wouldn’t have continued to play it. Getting absolutely dotted on the lowest difficulties is either impossible for a new player or boring for a good player as you wait for something decent to come in.

What they did with CPU pitching was intentional. Its design was to slow people down in the grind and keep them in the game longer. Its design is to make people buy stubs to get the cards versus playing to earn the cards. Short term, it’s probably successful, but long term, new players are just not going to play and buy the game.

  • Collected Mussina by Accident
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

Make sure to collect all of them, as that is 4 cards for your collection. Exchange them as you desire, but you just have to make sure they are out of your lineups.

  • Going to miss double XP and PXP
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

I love both double XP and double PXP and am really going to miss it. One thing I really enjoy doing in the game is P5ing cards. Having double PXP has probably made me play more because I see really excellent progress as I play.

Additionally, it feels like I fly through the XP path and really enjoy getting all the rewards quickly. There is excellent stub value in getting to the “wheel spin” for sure.

Hopefully they turn it all back on soon because it definitely makes the game WAY more fun for me.

@Pergo_MLBTS I don’t like how user input isn’t rewarded the way that it should be. This year, I have had far too many instances of where I square it up on a good swing and it just dies in the field of play. I don’t find that to be fun or enjoyable. I’m not elite at the game. I can make WS and have for the past few years that I have competitively played online. I want to play a baseball video game, not a baseball sim.

@GoozeFn_PSN yesterday I was playing the prime DQ stadium against the summer series stadium on All Star. I was walked and HBP 3 batters in a row. I had never experienced that in my entire time playing this game since 2020.

I think folks on my side of the aisle are pretty clear, we don’t like the direction game play has gone in. Online, last year’s game play was fantastic and we would like it brought back to that. A return to form per se. Offline on lower level difficulties, there should be WAY more meatballs. Lastly, totally scrap PCI shrinkage.

Last year, I didn’t speak up when I saw comments I disagreed with about nerfing max elevation stadiums because I never thought they would do it as so many players enjoyed them. With the changes this year, I realized if you don’t speak up they are only getting that feedback so this is me speaking up.

  • The Final Insult from SDS
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

Beltran, IMHO, is still the best card in the game. A speedy switch hitting center fielder that hits for power. You can’t really beat that. I have had him since April and he is STILL in my god squad line up. He is just in right field at the moment.

  • For the first time ever
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

It really doesn't make sense to encourage people to log off and play a different game, or do something different in general. Seems counter productive.

  • Gehrig HOF?
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

Not a mistake. He is one of the Season 3 collection rewards at 150 cards collected for the first pack. Other two packs aren't published yet and the reason he isn't in collections is because no one has reached the 150 yet. Once someone in the game hits that 150, and collects Gehrig, he will pop in collections. There just aren't enough cards out yet to get him.

  • Talk about grinding.
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

Already spun the wheel 3-4 times now and have Jackie on the squad as well. Finished TA by grinding out the conquest map, at the same time completing the missions for Season Awards and TA. When I finished the conquest map I was finished with Season Awards and TA. After, I finished the events. Next, got all the BR cards, minus one because I didn't go 10-0 (best I think I did was 8 wins). Now to split time between mini seasons and ranked. Pretty easy grind overall if you ask me!

  • Overall Captain of Captains?
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

I didn't find any of them to be challenging at all and did them separately as initially there was only the first half of the storyline when I started. Once the second one dropped I sat down and knocked it all the way out in one sitting. Maybe like an hour a piece? It wasn't a lot. The only issue I ran into was some of the cards earned along the way didn't populate for me so I had to put in a trouble ticket to get them. Once I submitted that, about an hour or two later SDS had taken care of that.

  • I wish they would match us with similar players
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

@YOSHI24_MLBTS People don't like having HRs replayed because it adds additional time to an already long game.

  • Experience cap?
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

    @Sarge1387_PSN said in Experience cap?:

    @virusts_XBL said in Experience cap?:

I am for no online cap but cap for offline modes. This is because there are many people who found loop holes in gaining xp in offline modes

But that's the entire argument against it...who cares? Why punish people who grind offline? Why have a cap at all, honestly. Those top tier cards don't mean diddly if you don't know how to use them properly

Yup, just get rid of it entirely. If you are worried about someone else's XP progress in the game, that is a you problem.

i'm 47 i'm getting the ole snippy snip on the 14th....so either sleep or find a chair and relax day 🙂

I'm 39 and had that done a couple of years ago. For real though, just go buy like 10 bags of frozen peas and rotate them out for a couple days and take it easy. I did that and it wasn't a big deal at all.

  • All every player has been cheating since season 4
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

@Nounou47_NSW said in All every player has been cheating since season 4:

@sbchamps17_NSW that since season 4 there have been 8/10 players who cheat, it's not normal that everyone has an average of .400 and we have 200hrs

I find it pretty easy to have a better than .400 average and a ton of homers, if I go into events with a card, with the goal of P5ing it. If you go play a handful of ranked games, hitting decently, that average isn't going to tank at all either. That isn't cheating, that is just someone playing the game a significant amount, which at this time of the year, really is the case. You are just playing people that really enjoy playing the game and they are probably going to be pretty decent.

  • WC Leaderboards: Should I just File my Ticket Now
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

I went 8-0 and made World Series in Weekend Classic and when I last checked, I was 4th on the leaderboard (although that board has also randomly changed players as well) behind people that lost a LOT. I just submitted a ticket and move on. It might just be a visual bug, which happens often in this game, but if loses really aren’t counting, they can figure that out with my trouble ticket. Just submit the ticket and let them figure it out.

  • This is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

@BuckLacy_PSN said in This is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME:

@YOSHI24_XBL yeah right son. You earned like 5 mill in stubs in 5 weeks nms. You been outside or taken a shower or seen a toilet in those 5 weeks son?

I completed the live series collection the first day of the very first weekend classic when I bought Ohtani for 380k due to the weekend classic packs having LS in them. That was the last card I needed. I am completely no money spent. I don’t really flip cards either. I prefer to just play the game. Took me 4 weeks to do it. It is incredibly easy to earn stubs in this game and you can read the markets as to when the best time to buy a player will be. That’s why you are seeing prices rise so much. People are making the stubs to make these purchases.

So not only do I have LS done. I have Rolen, Buxton, most of the chase cards (I think the only two I don’t have are Acuna and Yordan). I’ll probably have Acuna today, and could care less about the Yordan card honestly. Although I’ll still probably get him at some point because I like to finish out the year with all the cards.

  • Drafts packs a massive rip off
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

I know I’m going to be in the minority here, but I like that they offered the packs last night. They told us that they would be giving us a repeatable pack in the conquest that would have all the cards in it. It ended up being better than I expected, which is great. I like that.

I bought one 75k pack last night because I wanted to use that new Eli card and I’m glad I did. That was the whole point, you can get and choose the card(s) you want out of the gate.

Going in, I knew things would be earnable and cheaper because they told us so, so I payed for what I wanted, got what I wanted, and was able to play with the card well before I would have been able to. That was fun for me.

Now today I’ll work through the conquest, probably twice at least, and finish the program.

  • Are you saving stubs for hr derby and as game?
  • creeder21_MLBTSC creeder21_MLBTS

@Barfy-Bad-Gas_XBL it’s a combination of things. First and foremost, I try to pull as many packs out of the game as possible and sell the contents of the packs I get immediately. Sometimes I grind the moonshot mini season for the standard packs, and the deluxe choice pack, and sometimes it’s DQ for the cards. I always finish the multiplayer program and play every weekend classic.

I don’t necessarily “flip” or invest much but I do use the market to my advantage and will hold onto cards that I think will go diamond about a week or so out from a roster update.

There are so many ways to make stubs in this game. You just have to figure out what method works for you and execute that.
