Just played 5 BR games earlier this afternoon and went
5-0. Came back later tonight and played 2 more games, with me playing just as well on offense but got obliterated in both. Like both guys i could not get out with any type of pitch i threw at them. And i had both diamonds in the pen since the diamond rounds weren’t great offensively. I agree with Kevin that the goons come out at night... good night and good luck if you wanna win past 9 pm!!!

Whew! Pulled Degrom and Acuna in back to back days off of like 8 free standard packs from completing the daily moments and the new player program today. Feeling great!

Even though it has pissed me off a couple times, this a really good thing! CPU offense is actually good now. Just played back to back (lost the first on a 3 run walk off homer) stressful 3 inning games against the twins on veteran difficulty. Beware if you think you can sleep through those conquest games. It’s much more realistic now. They won’t just flail at the plate like previous years. Overall this is a good thing, just don’t freak out like did when they actually tried!

Update: I will pay someone to drive to my house to hit this final home run mission. I have tried over 500 times, and no matter what, he will not homer. I’ve had so many middle middle pitche[censored] for lame singles, several doubles off the wall, including one that was less than a foot away. I’ve begged all gods of all races and kinds to let me hit a home run, but it just won’t let me. I’m beginning to think I’m cursed.

I don’t know how all of y’all are getting all the easy 1st inning wins because people quit. Every game I’ve played has been stupidly hard to win. All my opponents smash everything and I’m smashing back but it’s not enough. And the fact that they take like 45 minutes just for me to lose and not get any close to the Jake Arrieta I would absolutely die to have. Best example is last night when I lost 12-10. The heck with this [censored]. Like I’m not wasting 48 hours of my life to just maybe get lucky and get 40 [censored] sweaty wins. So here’s to hoping Jake will drop below 1 million stubs before Christmas when I fully look forward to playing next years game and put this one aside.

Just restart your game now that stats are up. Had same problem with BR win and stats accrued not there. Restarted game after servers went back up and my win and stats are there.

I know once more better pitchers come out the use will go down, and I’m sure it’s been talked about, but I would suggest some sort of lock on a starting pitcher for 4 full games after you start them. And you can only bring them out of the pen for 1 inning or 3 outs in between those starts. I would think that would force more people to use other pitchers for the other 3-4 games between. That’s how baseball works, so should it in the game. You could literally use Kluber and Newhouser back and forth for months if you wanted to and managed a 80-90 pitch count max and didn’t bring them out of the pen on an “off” day. That’s just my opinion, cuz I hate facing those 2 pitchers as much as the rest of the community. Don’t get me wrong it’s fun to use them, but let’s have everyone actually manage a pitching stuff, not just throw the nastiest sinker cutter combo in the history of the game every other game for 7 innings.

I suck... someone please grace me with their knowledge of how to hit online and conquer input lag. I’m so slumped right now and I cannot get out of it. Everything I swing at is “too late”, even a hanging curveball. Please give me your wisdom as to how to regain above 0% success rate at hitting a round, stitched ball moving in the ranges of 70-100 mph from 60 video game feet away from me.

Has anyone else just given up trying to play online? I complained about not being able to hit a couple weeks ago and I’ve only marginally gotten better but then I go right back to being horrid. I’m starting to think online just isn’t for me. Nobody, especially in the lower tiers, actually plays the game of baseball. There’s no such thing as pitch sequencing, thinking about every move you make, what each other is swinging and not swinging at, and all the little things that make baseball, baseball in my opinion. I know online isn’t going to be a simulation of real life, but I’ve always found the show to be much better than 2k or madden at being more realistic, certainly offline. But I’m just not seeing it translate online. I’ve smashed countless controllers over just not being able to play online. I can’t hit with people like didi and bellinger, who the rest of the community have .400 averages with. I’m just not sure where to go from here and I’m wondering if any of you have thought about doing the same and just playing offline? Anyways, I hate to continue to go on and on about it, especially since most probably in this discussion don’t have this problem, but I thought I’d see what the community thinks.

Man they kinda pooped on us with this home run mission. I don’t want to face Gallegos righty righty on all star w/ Gary’s stinky contact and power against righties.

We all know Kyle is getting a TOPPS Now card this Friday. Here’s to hoping SDS doesn’t surprise us having it without a catcher secondary…

Didn’t get a topps now card just the moment. Guaranteed to have a monthly awards card then. Let’s go! What’s your guys overall predictions? I’m saying a 93 or 94. 3rd best card in the program. I have no clue who the rest will be, just don’t think he’ll be the lightning.

At first I didn’t know if maybe it’s because it’s a new year and I’m not using all 99 OVR pitchers anymore, or maybe SDS just plugged some holes (last few years, the CPU would chase every heater up and in and flail at every slider 3 feet off the plate). But I think the CPU is just better. I also have noticed the CPU yanks their pitcher earlier rather than letting me score 6 runs in the first before giving him the hook. And I noticed a couple pinch runners in key situations. Let’s go, CPU! Get it, baby!

Yeah I 100% think that’s part of it. However, I remember mowing the CPU down early last year with 80-84 overall golds. So the CPU being much more realistic and the drop back to non-99 pitchers combine for that change. I like it! Keeps my mind at work even when I’m offline!

If there’s roster updates of some sort every Friday, is today the day we get Seiya Suzukis live series? He’s now appeared in an MLB game so that have his rights. Really hoping so and it’s not a month from now.

Anyone else struggle with hitting funks when you click x when you want the contact to happen and not when the swing should start??? I struggle mightily with that all the time. And it sucks when you get buried with sinkers and cutters on the black all game long.

Well, I can no longer successfully put a bat on ball online. I am [censored]. I can absolutely dominate with my ballplayer on legend difficulty in road to the show, but can’t get more than 3 measly singles against 84 hunter greene on all star with a fully loaded diamond squad. Complete game shutout with 15 K’s. He still had 1/3 stamina after throwing 120 pitches and could continue to throw every single pitch type on the black. I am so frustrated with myself. Even took 3+ days off from online play and still absolutely sucked when I came back today. My once team average of .350 has plummeted since getting to all star ranked seasons. I guess I’m not cut out for this….

You are… but it does take lots and lots of reps if you have the time and energy to do that.

Offline I can hit anything, and I consider legend difficulty as comparable reps to online all star. But it sure as heck doesn’t feel like it. I instantly lose my eye and can’t lay off anything, and I get extremely antsy since I’ve become used to the AI pitch style.
