I agree that the vision is huge in higher levels but depending on your stub count, you can use shades, batting gloves and other equipment to increase vision considerably. It’s all preference. I don’t think there’s a right answer lol.

  • Take Check swings out
  • Boudrow96_PSNB Boudrow96_PSN

It’s happened to me as well. I understand your frustration. But check swinging is a huge part of an AB.

Also curious because I have no idea. But sometimes it seems like there’s button sensitivity. Are check swings based strictly on the hitter discipline or does it have anything to do with button pressure?

  • What team has the most overperforming (Glitchy?) cards?
  • Boudrow96_PSNB Boudrow96_PSN

@ImDFC said in What team has the most overperforming (Glitchy?) cards?:

Curious, I think it's the rangers just because it seems like the ball teleports off the bat when guys like Willie Calhoun, Ronald Guzman and Joey Gallo stand in the box

Funny because as soon as I read the title I thought to myself, Rangers!

For some reason I kill the ball with almost the entire team with the exception of Andrus. I find Odor to be glitchy too. Solid Squad.

Where the BEEP BEEP BEEP are Lux and May. Both of them are 100000000x better than 99% of the prospect cards currently out.

I think they are deeming Lux a current player despite him still having prospect status. I agree with you. It’d be a good piece of content.

I think Power is the way to go. Contact it easily boosted with equipment.

My CAP C is my best hitter. I did also recently grind the CF too. So far he’s been ridiculous. I think I’ve got 10 HRs in like 50-75 Abs. Speed and perfect fielding. (As perfect as you can be considering the fielding issues)

I’ll second that swing is the most important. If there’s a live series card you smash with, get you CAP that swing. For me it’s Aaron Hicks.

  • Fielding is awful

@juststrong88 said in Fielding is awful:

What about baserunners going rogue? Is this happening to everyone else too? My runners sometimes just do what they wanna do. Steal without be told. Over run the bag and take so long getting back they get thrown out. Stuff like this has killed me in games. I don't mind if I make a bad call and my runner gets thrown out. But when David Ortiz decides he wants to steal 2nd base against Yadier Molina. I have a problem with that.

I haven’t personally experienced any base running issues. It’s definitely not out of the question though.

Great article. Have a look if you want a great breakdown on this years fielding issues. The show is an amazing brand and creates sweet content. This has gotta change fast, though.

You spent over $1.8 million on the game?

Nope, lol. You guys win. I’m clearly failing to get my point across. Just want a game that works.

    Good luck all!

@bonion said in Should SDS sell high?:

@pbake12 i think the title of this post was a cry for attention. Hey look at me!!!

@Boudrow96 got Collin’s attention and then he flagrant fouled. Your one comment was so unnecessary. No wonder we don’t hear anything about productivity if you just throw insults

I’m not crying for attention. I am a bit upset as someone who spends tons of actual dollars in support of SDS, like many others. I knew about this forum last season and never complained. I’m just trying to get an answer as to why a company who’s made baseball games perfectly for years can’t get the basic fundamentals right. To me it’s unacceptable.

I’m by no means insulting Collin directly. I know very little is in his control, but they can’t keep sweeping these issues under the rug. They have plenty of new components of the game that are spotty and need work and I never bring those up. That’s cool, I know new parts take time to iron out. Fielding is just too pivotal in the games outcome to be something that’s not working at this juncture. It’s unfair to paying customers.

  • Joe Carter most underrated player
  • Boudrow96_PSNB Boudrow96_PSN

Joe Carter was incredibly consistent. He played in an era where some guys were lucky to hit ~10 HRs. Nowadays the most avg of hitters are popping 20+. I think we live in a world where small ball is gone and HRS sell. If he were to play today, He’d be very valuable.

Players within 10 Hrs +- : Decent company to keep.

    Duke Snider 407
    Nelson Cruz 401
    Andres Galarraga 399
    Al Kaline 399
    Dale Murphy 398
    Joe Carter 396
    Jim Edmonds 393
    Graig Nettles 390
    Johnny Bench 389
    Aramis Ramirez 386
    Dwight Evans 385

I feel like we deserve a 50 pack bundle for having to deal with this game that was obviously not ready to be released definitely need some sort of compensation

Hahahahaha! (Not laughing at you, you’re right!) my guess is they knew about these issues when they were taking our preorders and hyping up the game.

  • Should SDS sell high?

  • Should SDS sell high?
  • Boudrow96_PSNB Boudrow96_PSN

Yea when coding it the first time. Listen I’m obviously not a developer and I’m sure you have a birds eye view of the issues, but briefly explain to everyone including myself why fielding works perfectly in all the other games but not this one? Can’t you just implant the old code? It’s definitely the least intricate when compared to hitting and pitching, no?

    @Collin_SDS

  • Should SDS sell high?
  • Boudrow96_PSNB Boudrow96_PSN

I’m glad they are working on it! Something as trivial as fielding should never be an issue in the first place. It’s been satisfactorily in all previous games, why all of a sudden is it a struggle. Sometimes less is more..

    @Collin_SDS

  • The people defending this game have been silenced
  • Boudrow96_PSNB Boudrow96_PSN

I agree. It’s like people think SDS is going to reward them for sticking up for them. The reality is they took our money without properly testing the game.

I bought this game to enjoy all the components. if I bought a car with two missing wheels, it’s useless. The current state of fielding and pitching make this “car” not drivable..

SDS has a proud history of working on sports games for nearly 20 years.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIE_San_Diego_Studio

Thank you for this! Exactly why I think it’s absurd this game is so dysfunctional. Lol it’s not like they are new to baseball games. They have no excuse. If after 20 years you can’t get fielding down, might be time to turn the wheel another direction in terms of personnel.

Lol, nice! I agree on 2K. EA has better sports engines and resources imo. I’m really just venting cause they should have these issues figured out considering they are flushed with cash and have been making games for Years.

You have copies of their P/L Statements, do you?

The only ones who have access to that info is SDS and Sony themselves. And the parent company seems happy enough, as does MLB which just granted permission (and/or demanded) they take the game cross-platform next year.

Sorry, but you're in the distinct minority.

No, I don’t. But it’s obvious they are.... Video game companies don’t operate under deficits. I already explained having 0 marginal cost in another post. They pay nothing to produce each additional game unit after the initial investment. Meaning each game, stub and pack is additional revenue. They have 90 employees and generated 1.7 million in game sales revenue ALONE last year. Never mind sponsorship , AD and partner revenue. I’m also confused as to the response you’re trying to get. You are supporting my statement by saying they are going cross platform, that costs dough. I’m simply saying they have the funds to outsource the work or hire someone internally who can do the work necessary to improve the game.

If I’m misunderstanding you, please clarify.

All good! I’m actually not familiar enough with 2K to even make that comparison. You’d know way better than me. I just love EA, maybe cause I grew up on it. All these developers have issues. I think I’m just so rattled with how bad the fielding/pitching is right now that I’m blowing things a bit out of proportion. Lol

Noooooooope. Big long hard erect no from me dawg. SDS has their flaws, but they're better than 2K and EA in every way.

Lol, nice! I agree on 2K. EA has better sports engines and resources imo. I’m really just venting cause they should have these issues figured out considering they are flushed with cash and have been making games for Years.

Ea sports engine better? Have you played madden lately? I'd take 2k over ea everyday. Both money hungry and microtransaction ridden games. But 2k is atleast playable. Myplayer has a good amount of depth too it, Myleague is 100% better than maddens Franchise mode. On top of that as bad as 2k is they do address alot of problems especially when it comes to cheese online.( I.E removing behind the back cheese this year). So yeah id take 2k atleast they still somewhat care about their product, EA literally don't give a Fk

I haven’t played the new one! So you may be correct. But From my own experience EA games play smooth (NHL and FIFA) , especially in comparison to the current state of this game. I do agree that they are all money hungry. I just want a functional game. Lol
