Why’d you have to ruin my day? Lol. I could buy Trout on the market and somehow he wouldn’t show up in my inventory, that’s how bad my luck has been this year.
Congrats

Thinking SDS should sell the rights to MLB over to a better development team, preferably a sports-centric one. I don’t see how you could create an award winning game and over the course of a few years break it entirely.
They should sell while the value is there because the developers clearly have no idea what they are doing.
The MOST frustrating part of these multi-hit moments is that the pitchers don't throw strikes. How am I supposed to make solid contact when 75% of the pitches are outside the zone. Cant walk for 7 TB, SDS!!!
I legit lost a game to an inside the parker in the Boltom of the 9th because of that. Ball hit Betts straight in the jibbs and must have concussed him because he wouldn’t pick up the ball and the batter (40 speed) pranced around the bases.
I agree. It’s like people think SDS is going to reward them for sticking up for them. The reality is they took our money without properly testing the game.
I bought this game to enjoy all the components. if I bought a car with two missing wheels, it’s useless. The current state of fielding and pitching make this “car” not drivable..
Players rights restrictions are heavily enforced and monitored with all the digital content we have today. It was such a small market back then.
I remember when Barry Bonds alias was John Dowd.
You’re right. They have a lot to fix, including pitching. To me hitting is passable but pitching and defense are ruining the game.
Use directional hitting. Its asinine that we need to change our setting to get different output.
They apparently tweeted about the fielding issues and are “looking” to address them in a patch shortly. I don’t see why they wouldn’t just implant the old programming for last years fielding and call it a day.
New animations and effects are cool but I’d rather fielding gameplay from any other year over what we have now.
Lol! The best part is even if it’s not blocked it bounces 100mph off the backstop and come right back.
The exit velo on balls off the walls is better than perfect/perfect off the bat.
I actually never thought about it before because Im usually basking in my frustration for the game im playing at the time. But all these sports games have seemed scripted of late. NHL Ice tilt is very real and comparable to this nonsense. Your players can’t catch passes or don’t pick up loose pucks.
Developers need to Stop trying to let non competitive players feel better by allowing the game to play for them essentially.
You seem like a smart dude. I forgot to mention marginal cost. They have essentially 0 marginal cost, which means after production of the initial software, it cost nothing to produce each additional unit. (With the exception of payroll) with that being said, they RAKE in cash. The fact this game still has issues shows the incompetence of the team. Something deep pockets can’t fix. Therefore I think they should outsource work or sell.
Well done. I think you squared this one up!
“Now, I'm NOT arguing that there shouldn't be hard hit outs or that there shouldn't be weak contact hits. Those are part of baseball and should be somewhat represented in the game (although you can argue to what extent). And then by that logic, I'm not arguing that there shouldn't be RNG to a certain extent.”
I’d rather them make pitching almost impossible to get perfect input rather than telling me it was good or perfect 90% of the time, but serving the ball up on a tee. What’s the point of telling me the quality of input?? Lol
There is no real strategy.... The values and margins change everyday, you just need to sort and filter, then repeat.
If a certain card is needed for a collection people will pay a premium for it, where others who are not as invested in collections will quick sell them, giving you an advantage. Easier to do when you have a base of stubs. Any card can offer margin, Even diamond Cards like Juan Pierre. I find the more controversial cards return the most. Like the Juan Pierre. Too many people are concerned with power but those speed lovers will eat him up. Quick to buy low and quick to sell high.

Lol, nice! I agree on 2K. EA has better sports engines and resources imo. I’m really just venting cause they should have these issues figured out considering they are flushed with cash and have been making games for Years.
You have copies of their P/L Statements, do you?
The only ones who have access to that info is SDS and Sony themselves. And the parent company seems happy enough, as does MLB which just granted permission (and/or demanded) they take the game cross-platform next year.
Sorry, but you're in the distinct minority.
No, I don’t. But it’s obvious they are.... Video game companies don’t operate under deficits. I already explained having 0 marginal cost in another post. They pay nothing to produce each additional game unit after the initial investment. Meaning each game, stub and pack is additional revenue. They have 90 employees and generated 1.7 million in game sales revenue ALONE last year. Never mind sponsorship , AD and partner revenue. I’m also confused as to the response you’re trying to get. You are supporting my statement by saying they are going cross platform, that costs dough. I’m simply saying they have the funds to outsource the work or hire someone internally who can do the work necessary to improve the game.
If I’m misunderstanding you, please clarify.
Collect. Ive heard of people opening multiple 50 bundles and getting 1 or fewer diamonds.

SDS has a proud history of working on sports games for nearly 20 years.
Thank you for this! Exactly why I think it’s absurd this game is so dysfunctional. Lol it’s not like they are new to baseball games. They have no excuse. If after 20 years you can’t get fielding down, might be time to turn the wheel another direction in terms of personnel.
Until the pitching is fixed, there is no incentive to use analog. In fact, I find pulse to be more accurate with pitchers who have moderate control attributes. I’ve been able to limit my era to mid 3s.
Hitting still has its issues but I find foul balls are out of hand. Either put it in play for an out or make it harder to make contact. If my pci is on the ball and can’t make contact then by no means should a pci aimed opposite the ball result in a foul tip.
I’m glad they are working on it! Something as trivial as fielding should never be an issue in the first place. It’s been satisfactorily in all previous games, why all of a sudden is it a struggle. Sometimes less is more..
@Collin_SDS
Hahaha I’ll try that next game. Likely won’t have to try seeing my outfielders are all apparently blind
