I’m 72 and I gave up on the game two years ago. I got tired of being beaten after I’d really played hard. It also just wasn’t worth it to me that if I wanted a really good team, I had to buy it because I wasn’t good enough to get the really top level cards by playing a game I had so much trouble winning. I missed it at first, but not anymore.

It’s not coming until tomorrow morning. They said it on the stream today.

If they've changed the SC as they did last year, the programming probably wouldn't be compatible. Yeah, I'd love to carry some over, but I think I can replicate a couple of them.

I managed to get Rollins finally, but given the price of the cards I'd need to get Mantle, I gave up on that. I hope there's some kind of limit on prices in 23 that doesn't make getting these cards impossible. Having a lot of cards attainable only through BR and Events is really unfair if you don't play them that much or at all. The rewards should be attainable no matter how you play, not just through one specific avenue.
Buy them earlier. All the Bronze, Silver, and Gold BR rewards were at or around quick sale value UNTIL Brett dropped.
If you invest in these cards early; they will practically pay for the others.
Before the Forever Event dropped, the Silver Mathews, Britton, etc were all under 100 stubs each.
If you bought 50 of them, even at 100 stubs each and sat on them until Brett came out, or even longer, you made a killing when you sold them off.
That assumes you want to play the market. I don't like to and didn't much last year. Why should playing the market be necessary?

I was wondering if pinpoint is worth learning. But from this post it seems like it is no better than analog. And I'm cool with that because I like analog and don't want to learn pinpoint. And to op, if pitching was perfect it would be very difficult to hit in this game. And that aint no fun.
My goal this past season was to learn it because I was in an online league. I forced myself to learn it and really found you have better aim than with analog as long as you do it right. The big thing was trying to learn it. The best help is the various YouTube videos and not in the game. The game doesn't really explain it at all. I'm not great at it, but at least I can do it. I've seen some guys who really can pinpoint their pitches. It takes some practice to nail it down as good as they do. I did find my competition level rose with pinpoint, if that says anything.

I've written about this before, but I'm going to say it again ... please no showdowns like the Finest showdown where the game had six steps and they weren't easy. That really burned me to the point where I really soured on the game after enjoying it so much.
And please take off the buy-ins. They really become an issue, especially early on when you may not have that many stubs.
-
There should have been an alternative to getting those last Finest cards besides the Showdown. That was something I hope isn't repeated this year. Or least made a little easier. A 6-0 showdown finish is really ridiculous. If you have to have showdowns, maybe split it in half and make 2 3-0 showdowns.

And be sure to add it to your cover athletes collection for a free 5,000 stubs.
Of course, some people were already selling it this a.m. Sheesh.

I’m sure there will be 10 twitch / YouTube streams to come that will promise pack drops and won’t.
Did you get your free Jazz 99 card yet? It's in your inventory.
-
Jazz makes a ton of sense. He's intense and he gets noticed. A good choice, really.
Congrats, Jazz.

Will Jazz Chisholm be getting a finest card now that he’s the cover athlete
He has a 99 overall Topps Now in the shop for Free right now.
Yup. Got mine this a.m.
-
There is, however, a free Jazz 99 card pack in your inventory. I found mine this a.m.
-
So apparently there will be twitch packs linked to MLB 23 if you watch the cover reveal stream on Monday. My question is if your account is already linked do you need to link it again? I’m guessing you don’t.
-
Anyone else having problems? We’ve been trying for a half hour to connect and I have been unable to. I’m hoping it’s the system and not me.
-
I originally was going to try for Rollins then maybe Mantle, but I gave up. The prices are too high and fighting the market was just too stressful. I did get Ohtani99, though, which I thought was a nice substitute even though I had to pay though the nose to do it. That's it, though. Not going for Rollings or Mantle. I'd have loved Rollins, but the cost is just too much and I refuse to spend money on them.

If I've paused, it's always to go to the bullpen. Or make an emergency run to the restroom. So it could be either of those.

- No more beaning of pitchers by batted balls. It seems to have died off, but last year and earlier I had several of those. I remember one where the pitcher was writhing on the ground in pain. That's not necessary.
I just had one last month where I hit the pitcher right between the eyes. It happens in this game a lot more than in real life.
On the other end, they need to something about how much the CPU pitchers bean hitters. It’s ridiculous how often it happens. If a gamer were to do it as often as the CPU, they’d go through all of their pitchers in one game because they’d keep getting ejected.
- Put a price limit on every card, especially the older cards that have been replaced by higher rated ones. Having cards under 90 with exorbitant prices is unnecessary and hurting the game. And it makes getting cards like Mantle 99 and Ohtani 99 impossible for some of us. If the goal is to play this game, should all the cards be reasonably available? We don't all have 5 million stubs all year.
I suggested this last year and got scoffed. You’d think if SDS wanted gamers to buy stubs, they’d quit making it so easy to flip the lower end cards.
- Slow down the content a little bit. I loved all the content this year, but who has time to explore the other parts of the game with continual bombarding of content?
- Stop charging buy-ins for showdowns. At the beginning of the season when stubs are at a premium, especially, it makes it difficult and exceptionally stressful. It shouldn't be that way. But it just not good even now. So please end that.
Please, please, and please! The rewards aren’t that great, so there is no reason to have an entry fee. There are better rewards in conquest games.
In addition, please add a link to download a .csv file of our “owned” cards in the inventory.
I’d love to see a list of my parallels. That would be soooooo useful.

I do love this game. I bought it on pre-order and I've played every day with only illness taking me away from it for a day. Thanks, SDS, for all you do.
