Not true. It's been reported in national newspapers, including the New York Post.

The Post isn't the greatest source, but it's since been reported elsewhere, including his home town of Oakland. Their story says he'd been dealing with pneumonia.

OAKLAND — Rickey Henderson, the Oakland kid who became the greatest leadoff hitter in baseball history and his hometown A’s biggest star has died.

Henderson would have turned 66 on Christmas Day.

After a frenzy of social media speculation overnight, multiple sources confirmed to the Bay Area News Group on Saturday morning that Henderson had died. The family is expected to make an announcement later in the day. Henderson had been in the hospital battling pneumonia, a source told the Bay Area News Group.

The left fielder with the unmistakable crouched batting stance and affable swagger set MLB career records with 2,295 runs and 1,406 stolen bases and is the single-season stolen base king. He was enshrined into the Hall of Fame in 2009, his first year of eligibility.*

For SDS I think it is less about who is deserving and instead who they think will sell the most copies.

I don't know what music was in the game last year since I didn't play '23, but I was happy to see James Brown and Stevie Wonder in it this year. That said, I keep the music turned off. It's distracting to hear James Brown singing "It's A Man's World" when Toni Stone is up to bat.

I should have figured that there would be something in the works for all the Negro League cards and I'm glad it finally happened. I briefly tried it today after getting it last night and it's a kick.

Again, SDS, thanks for this. Also thanks for the storylines, both the NL and the Jeter. If there were video game Academy Awards, they'd get an Oscar.

It may have already happened, as there's an MLB The Show account there with no posts. But it would be most appreciated for those of us who don't like Twitter that SDS if you would post there.

Also a big Giants fan. The reports I'd seen seemed to indicate the Giants didn't really have him in their plans. But he's not the only player out there and from the looks of things, Buster Posey is heading down a good path starting with the signing of Willy Adames. (Still can't believe Posey's behind a desk now instead of being behind the plate only a few years ago.)

I came in this year when PS Plus offered the game. I haven't paid for anything except for the deluxe upgrade and I have 75% of the cards without playing online. My experience has been fairly positive with few exceptions. For one, the mandatory Halloweek showdown still irritates me. (Yes, I've tried to do it several times without any luck.) The Moments of Glory program is something I probably won't finish either, though that doesn't bother me as much since it came in earlier than I did. But overall, I've been pretty happy with 24. After not playing 23, breaking a string of many years of playing MLBTS, my plans are to buy 25 from the beginning.

Logic would dictate that's not true. The manufacturer's contract should have the first call as to whether they make one version or not. I doubt MLB could handcuff SDS to force them to make Switch, especially if it has problems or doesn't make them enough money to make it profitable. Same with any other versions, though I'm guessing there's no problem with Xbox or Playstation.

For me, SPs are Randy Johnson and DeGrom. Lately, it's been DeGrom. For RP, it's either Ottavino or Mariano Rivera. Lately, I've been using Ottavino.

I hope the Negro Leagues can be more a part of the game in '25 than they were this year. I admit I haven't touched the Negro League storyline cards at all, and then barely the others. (I think I used John Donaldson and Toni Stone in a couple of games.)

If they decide to do a third Negro Leagues storyline (and I hope they do), maybe make all the cards from '23 and '24 available in '25 and make them a team to be used for something. (I don't play RTTS this year, so I don't know if they were used there or not.)

I came in late, too. (I'm assuming you came in like I did with PS Plus.) The storylines were two of the first things I worked on. I loved them both. I didn't buy '23, so it was new to me. I think what they did was marvelous. And the only thing I didn't like about the Jeter storyline was that it was the Yankees. They did a wonderful job with both of those.

For me, CPU is relaxing. I haven't seen much aggressiveness. (I usually play veteran or rookie.) But I'm ok with a little competition.

Yeah, I think you pretty well nailed it. Severino also gives the Sacramento fans (where they'll be playing until the Vegas stadium opens) something to look forward to. But at this moment, the A's still aren't a team to pay attention to.

Good post, especially No. 3, since I don't play online. I suggested the same thing about making an alternate way to get online cards rather than pay big bucks for them. And I think the incentive is really for the offline players, who are playing more for fun (well, I am, anyway) rather than blood.

In Open Pack History, can a "Next" tab be added so you don't have to click back more than once to get to the next pack? The My Packs tab has it and it makes it very convenient to move on to the next pack. tx.

Just curious what everyone thinks. I've used Posada the most. Just got Pudge and I like what I've seen so far.

Yeah, made me raise my eyebrows a little, too. It looks like the A's are going to be spending a lot of money for that new stadium they don't have yet to try and get enthusiasm up for the team. But after being the cheapskates they've always been, I don't see that it'll work
