Sorta off-topic but I've been thinking recently about how cool it'd be for Topps and SDS to collaborate and release personalized cards of DD guys.
For example:
I have 99 Ortiz in game, and his stats are stored for CPU and Online matches separately. Let's say I wanted to have a physical copy of his Sig Series card with the Online stats I'd compiled in game. I could go in through the game or through the marketplace website and order the card to be made and delivered to me with those stats on it and maybe my username or some other personal identifier.
Obviously not a ton of "collectibility" for anyone outside whoever is buying cards of their own players, but maybe streamers could do cool stuff with them by attaching their own name to it? This would probably have to be limited to owned cards (driving up the price of some?) and would probably be limited to the game's exclusive series, so no topps now or live series for the most part I'd think. Could be something fun, what do you all think?
His 99 was pretty solid last year. A lot of pitchers never "get the love" that they should because of how good certain pitches are (sinkers, sliders, etc.) and their lack of that pitch making them borderline unuseable regardless of anything else SDS does to the card.
I have around 100 innings with Hendricks online (maybe a hair less) and he posted a 2.20 ERA. The biggest threat to him is, of course, the longball. To mitigate the danger, you need to get your opponent off the fastball EARLY into an appearance. I'm talking within the first 3 pitches you need to get a strike on a fastball that isn't a foul ball. I always liked to go 4sm hand side first pitch, because his 4 seamer will dance a little bit with full stamina. Don't bother throwing the 2 seamer if you're having trouble getting that first fastball by a guy, because that 2 seamer will get crushed since it's a little slower and drops right into where you're expecting a 4 seamer to land. As for offspeed usage, once you get that first fastball by a guy, you can throw whatever you want to as far as breaking stuff out of the zone. The curve looks like the 2 seamer, the slider looks like the 4 seamer. If you don't know how to tunnel and you're planning on using Hendricks. you'd better learn.
Favorite Sequences!
Against a Righty:
4sm low and in
slider low middle/away
2sm middle in
slider middle/away
Against a Lefty:
4sm low/away
4sm middle/in
2sm high/away
Ah. I only ask because I heard that his 4sm can touch 102 (similarly to Tanana) when you get him to 4/5.
My only real platoon is the occasional third baseman swap if I'm desperate late in the game. I start Groshans there but if it gets late I'll yank him and let Duvall or Babe hit (depending on pitcher handedness) and then throw Minnie in to play D.

I’m now 8-0 with him and is the only pitcher I’ve hit a home run with. Pretty slept on IMO.
The circle change overall is a super underrated pitch. It helps Castillo greatly that he's got it as a primary.
Semi-related question, what parallel do you have him at?

I used to get it but then I started loading up my thumb with spider tack before games and between innings. Haven't had any trouble since.
This or just go grab the rosin bag sitting behind your chair, mix it with a little sunscreen and you should be good.
Crisco. Bardol. Vagisil. Any one of them will give you another two to three inches drop on your curveball. Of course, if the umps are watching me close, I just put a little jalapeño inside my nose and get it running, and if I need to load the ball up a little, just wipe my nose.

Double check your equipment and perks in DD. They don't always update automatically when you swap and it's easy to accidentally create a different loadout and have stuff like this happen.
I've used just about every card in the game with a decent sample size in all kinds of spots in the order, but the one player who has never been outdone is Jasson Dominguez. He leads my team in basically every stat (I think Ortiz has him in slugging % by a small margin), both counting and rate and passes the eye test with flying colors. He plays unreal defense and has a cannon of an arm. He was my first superfractor and I don't see him leaving my outfield all year.

Anyone know any good recipes for fried t-shirt? Rogers gets a +1 to 78 OVR. Unbelievable.
Bryant & Lynn?

I mainly do it because I’m a completionist. I have finished every live series collection going back to ‘16.
I get that wanting to collect cards but some people think they can't put on a competitive team if they don't do collections which is not true. TA 2 gets you tons of good free cards that gets you a god squad. I'm mainly targeting this thread to new players.
Honestly I don't know that we'll see a better 3B or 1B option than Chip and Papi, respectively. Throw some names out that we know are in the game if you think I'm totally wrong, but other than 99 Babe and Lou Gehrig I don't see anyone else even challenging Papi.
No real order but I'll organize them into "Tiers" once I make my list.
Tier 1: Endgame-Level
Tier 2: Among strongest options available now, but won't last all year.
Tier 3: Solid option, will likely last a few weeks or so before better options are available.
R Dibble 1
R Lee Smith 1
R Goose 2
R Wain-O 2
R Familia 2
R 99 Mo 1
L Chapman 2
L Hader 3
L Plesac 3
L Wagner 2

Is there a way to get Topps Now packs WITHOUT playing the weekly Moments?
Reason I ask....I played a couple Play vs CPU (on Rookie) last night and I got 3 or 4 Topps Now packs when I finished. So there must be something else that triggers those pack rewards.
Anyone know what it is?!?
TIA
Go look at the monthly awards programs. You get them for completing player challenges (accumulating stats with Topps Now cards already in your lineup).
@dino-might_not said in HOLY INFLATION what happened to the market:
Trout's up over 500k for both BN and SN?!?!?
Likely due to roster updates coming today. Going to be inflated massively after this one because I'm guessing Lynn and Bryant finally get the bump.

He's really really good. Hits the ball hard and has good speed for a catcher. Defense is a little lacking (for me) but I can attribute at least some of that to having used Weiters and Huff behind the dish for a while now. I don't know that he's worth the 80-90k he's going for right now, but for 50k I think he's a great buy.
I like him and he has taken over the C spot in my God Squad which I have nearly everyone. I think after paralleling him up that defense is pretty solid even though it won't be the best defensive catcher.
I couldn't get him to take Huff's spot. Personally, I stick my catcher 8th in the lineup and work out a long AB because I know that most of the time the guy I'm playing will be okay with walking him to get to my pitcher. Their hitting stats aren't vitally important to my usual approach with the 8 hole guy. I hit well with him, but I really didn't have someone else to take that 8 hole role so he didn't stick in my lineup.
