MLB The Show 27 could be the best sports game ever made if SDS simply keeps up with the times.

It is time for a major leap forward in graphics, presentation, crowd reactions, and stadium atmosphere.

Baseball can be electric, emotional, tense, and sometimes a grind. The game should reflect all of it. Where is “New York, New York” after a Yankees win? Where are the Bleacher Creatures chanting each player’s name? Where is the Sausage Race in Milwaukee, “Sweet Caroline” in Boston, ceremonial first pitches, pregame shows, scoreboard traditions, unique crowd chants, and unforgettable closer entrances?

I understand that music licensing can be complicated, but some traditions are worth paying for, while others could be recreated or recorded specifically for the game.

In 2026, players, uniforms, stadiums, lighting, weather, and crowd environments should look immaculate. Broadcast cutscenes should be so realistic that, at times, it is difficult to tell the difference between the game and a live television broadcast.

Gameplay and game modes obviously need continued improvement, but presentation is what creates immersion. Give fans a game that makes us say, “Wow, now that is baseball.”

Make us feel like we are standing in the batter’s box, hearing the crowd build, living the biggest moments, and experiencing the personality of every stadium.

MLB The Show should not just simulate baseball. It should capture everything that makes baseball special.

Hopefully, SDS has been listening. Let's see what 2027 can bring us!

I just want to play with the real rosters in the WBC? How can I do this without playing these silly games?

What is the easiest way to play with the actual roster in WBC mode?

Is it possible to upload a team that someone else built and use that as your team?

I’ve seen several people playing with the actual rosters and uniforms. For example, I saw a video of someone playing as Japan with Japan’s real roster and the correct jersey numbers. I’m just trying to get a better answer.

P.S. If we just had an exhibition mode, we wouldn’t have to worry about this mess. The whole point of the WBC is playing as your country with the real rosters against other real rosters. Having Aaron Judge on Puerto Rico and some goofy team name replacing a country makes absolutely no sense. Please fix this, SDS.

@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN Better than nothing at all right? Hopefully soon enough they’ll start listening to people. Who sits there and thinks the WBC idea was a good thing?

Put WBC on an exhibition mode or franchise to begin your season. It’s not freakin hard to listen to the fans.

Fix the graphics and visuals

Update the gear the players wear and overall presentation.

Bring back Sounds Of The Show

There is so much detail that needs to be fixed, updated or introduced to make this game absolutely elite. They have the chance to blow people away, just have to put in the effort!

What’s the chance for SDS to put the WBC tournament in a mode or on franchise? Dang well knowing that’s what all of us want.

Please get rid of the forward-facing home run camera angle that was added this year. It’s terrible—especially with the graphics currently in place.

Stick with the batter’s-box angle so we can actually see the launch, or introduce a new variation of it. Those angles make home runs feel much more realistic. Hopefully, we see different animations and improved presentations during home runs this year and moving forward.

This truly feels like a make-or-break year for the game when it comes to graphics and delivering something that genuinely surprises us.

Fingers crossed for a solid ’26 release that shows you listened to what the majority of players want—better graphics and presentation.

@fubar2k7_PSN Also you can’t tell me MLB is better than CFB in presentation and graphics. That’s crazy. I know SDS can step their game up and get it done. The game has looked the same for 10 years.

@JoeSelser_PSN At least bring back the Sounds Of The Show somehow and let us upload our own bought music or someone else do it for us like the good ol days. But graphics and presentation definitely need an upgrade.

@JoeSelser_PSN The game has gotten so watered down with silly games it doesn’t even feel like a baseball game anymore. And you cannot tell me the presentation and graphic couldn’t be better, come on now.

Where are the updates for this? We knew this rule change in the spring!? Can we get this updated please?

Can we all agree that the forward facing new “no doubt” angle is absolutely terrible. I will always love the view behind the player to see where the ball is going. The pro-spirit game angle is pretty legit from what I’ve seen as well. Just trying to maybe give SDS a little feedback here. What do you all think? Just because something is new, doesn’t mean it’s better. Hope everyone is having a good Sunday.

@trfatboy22_PSN I get your point but it’s 2025. With the technology, the cost of things, there definitely should be updates within the game sooner than May. If that’s the case then why even release until May/June so they can hit the ground running. The details absolutely matter to make it a great game. People want to see the right gloves, bats, stances, player emotion/bat-flips, even fascial hair. If they want to keep-up they have to stay ahead and major in the minors. Just my thoughts.

Why haven’t we done this yet? What’s the hold up SDS! A lot of players to be added and player features to be updated!

@ncbravesfan82_MLBTS No roster update today? That’s absolutely ridiculous SDS. You pay the price for the game, you should expect the updates to roll in early and often. I haven’t started franchise for this exact reason. The Yankees roster and team look is BS right now. FIX IT!

The whole freakin Yankees team needs to be updated along with adding who is ACTUALLY on the team. (ex. JC Escarra and others). The new fascial hair additions need to be updated for sure! Hopefully this Friday all this will come.
