I switched to it two years in and then it only pitched me every two weeks or so.
When I used my 99 it took till right after the AA All Star Break to get to AAA and early August for MLB.
I don’t like it tied to DD either but I’ve also been able to level up my archetype with strictly RTTS.
If you wanna level up your pitcher to the 50 cap quick play as a closer a few seasons, it doesn’t take long.
I have a stud RTTS closer and nothing like the lead off hitter hitting a weak sauce grounder to third where there is no 3B and the LF is practically in CF so I give up a double to start the inning.
I hated when they went to archetypes in 18 and we could no longer level up our players via training points as we wanted. I remember them saying they spoke with MLB players how progression should be, they should be asking their fans how they want to play and I don’t remember anyone asking for archetypes and limiting how we could level up our player.
I have a 99 SP and 99 2B rating and have a 99 durability rating with it.
The game starts me at pitcher in game 1 of the NLDS, sits me in game 2. Starts me at 2B in games 3/4 then sits me in game 5.
Ohtani in real life isn’t sat near as much as you are in this game, and if the Angels make the playoffs this year he’s taking every turn in the rotation and playing every other game. With so much focus on two way player this year this is a pretty big oversight, it’s like they didn’t have anyone test playing a few seasons to realize your maxed out player is benched 40% of playoff games.
I picked power-contact-defense and ended up with Crime Dog and have been mashing.
I have a diamond billy the kid for pitcher that I got in a couple days but it’s taking me forever to progress as a batter, stuck on silver and less then halfway to gold.
It feels like I’m playing The Show 08 with the insane number of foul balls when I’m pitching and I can’t adjust the slider without forgoing xp.
I got asked when I was 25 and accepted, became a closer/RF when I had been strictly a closer for 7 seasons. I haven’t pitched in a month and have been spot starting RF so that piece of it doesn’t appear to be working.
To qualify for leading those categories you have to bat 502 times during a 162 game season.
You get sat way too much between starts to qualify for this.
Having to switch after/before each game. A couple times I’ve had to shut down the game because I couldn’t stop the play next in time to switch back to what I needed to.
This started happening to me, same as you guys the old DD fix didn’t work anymore.
I completely restarted my Xbox then it works again, eventually fails, rinse repeat. This allowed me to limp to silver for my batter.
I was able to add a pitch my next training session and my stats are tracking without having to do the diamond dynasty trick so that means progression would be faster.
So far so good.
Never tried adjusting rosters prior to RTTS but I know once you’re in RTTS you’re at the mercy of the computer GM.
Yes! It’s what I’ve been playing this year with RTTS being such a dumpster fire. I’ve been using the player lock feature you can select before playing a game.
If anyone has a better way I’d love to hear it but I created a SP before starting franchise, used the updated roster. Then I had to get my player designated as a two way player by getting them 3 at bats in 20 games as a position player and pitch 20 innings. To get the 20 games as a position player I couldn’t use player lock as the manager would sub me out in the first inning, I believe because I couldn’t set my secondary position because I wasn’t designated a two way player yet. You either have to play the full game every pitch or do what I did, go into the full game, then sim to the end. I tried just flat out simming a couple months and it didn’t work. Once you have met all the two way player requirements then you can edit the player and select whatever secondary position you want.
So kind of a pain but once you get there it’s totally worth it, you have a player you edited to your liking, you can select when you pitch and where you bat in the lineup. You can get your RTTS mode fix in franchise much more like it used to be and without the ever increasing restrictions on the kind of player you want to be.
Another reason I went franchise with player lock, not only can I hit the days I pitch but I can bat third.
I don’t know how they got away with launching this mess, they pulled Cyberpunk from the PS store for less.

Try franchise with player lock, you can start out as a 99 beast or languish in the minors as long as you like. You also can start out with 5 pitches and a knuckleball.
I have a better idea lets go back and play last years RTTS instead
Better if you enjoy a year old roster/schedule and archetype restrictions.
No thanks
