Haha, yes they completely screwed that up. My player was hitting over .400 and he gets pinch hit for when he pitches! Funny but sad that they did not even think about this!

I just had the complete opposite happen! I was a very mediocre AAA first baseman. 71 OVR. I was hitting around .280 with 2 HR in about 40 games (I play on Legend difficulty). I then hit 2 HRs in one game raising my stat line to .296/4 HR. After the game I am promoted to the bigs as the starting first baseman! Now the poor Reds fans have no hope for the future 😂

Some kind of logic system, any kind of logic system would be appreciated!

Yep this is one of my biggest complaints as well. They said it is your ballplayer and you decide what he does that should also include when I play. I don’t need two days off after only playing in two games. I can’t qualify for any of the batting titles because I do not have enough at bats. Please fix this game or I will never buy another one again. I have been playing this game since the beginning and this is by far the worst year yet

This is why I’m avoiding the two-way thing for now. I’m a catcher on one save and pitcher only on another save.

Well, for what it's worth, in every year's version of this game going back many years it has been an issue that new players get "rested" quite a bit more than one would logically think they should. The key to getting past that - use your training opportunities when they come to build up your endurance. I think the two appropriate options are pilates and box jumping if memory serves. It doesn't matter if you are the best player on your team in terms of hitting and slugging - if you don't work up your endurance you won't get enough AB's to qualify for anything as you need 3.1 per team game and you will be resting every third or fourth day.

And yeah - a IRL player who knows how to hit isn't going to forget how to hit simply because he happens to be pitching that day. it's not like "oh man - I'm wearing my pitching glove and it gives me hitting amnesia". Just one of the many ways in which how SDS choose to implement the 2-way player falls short.

Is endurance now durability as far as how many games we get to play?

Is endurance now called durability as far as how many games we get to play? Doesn’t seem to be an endurance attribute now that I see.

@SGMRock_XBL - darn man, I'm sorry - I was posting strictly from memory and didn't have the game running to look at it while I typed the post. I typed "endurance" but that actual term in-game is "durability". So you are correct and I'm looking rather foolish.

In any case - that attribute has always impacted three different things in the game - injury frequency, injury duration, and time between being rested. I have no idea if injuries are part of 2021 but in previous versions they definitely were.

And, to the spirit of my original "contribution" to this thread (if you can call it that) - if you increase your durability through training, you will not get rested as much, and thus get more ABs and games in the course of the season. There are three different training types - batting, practice field, and gym - hit the gym and you should see either pilates or box jumping as exercises you can do to raise this attribute.

    Hope this helps.

The 2 way stuff is so forced on you. I mean I would love to play catcher and say 1B but you can never change secondary off SP. I mean I’m into my 3rd season now. One in minors and two in MLB and stupid manager has asked me 10+ times now if I want to pitch. So lame really.

Another reason I went franchise with player lock, not only can I hit the days I pitch but I can bat third.

I regret doing the 2-way thing and will switch back to starting pitcher the next time my agent calls me again. The loadouts are a clunky system, especially since I have 3 separate loadouts for SP, CF, and DH, which makes the whole thing kinda unrealistic. Also, with the progression system being stuck/broken this whole mode is just one mess right now.

I like the fact that the 2-way player is an option this year, but I really don't understand why they have to force it down your throat right in the beginning. I don't understand where this 2-way craziness is coming from in this years game, Shohei Ohtani came into the league 3 years ago, and this years cover Tatis is a one-way player.
