Where do you all get your SDS updates? Seems like I’m out of the loop
Twitter. You don't need to join. Just google MLB the show twitter, or MLB the show tips twitter. Check that for updates when you want to.. that's it
Thank you for the help!

D still plays like a clown show. I can’t believe this is the patch they put out.

Just lost an events game because of the fielding issues. Luckily it’s not anything that has been complained about but here we go for the first time.
I’m on defense, runner on 1st 1 out. Batter smokes a ball to Rizzo at first and he snags it, steps on the bag at first for the first out. I throw the ball to second, not to get the double play, but for the tag out, which should have happened. It didn’t. Gleyber got the ball, tagged the bag (not a force so no out) and continued his animation turning 2 towards first. Played baseball from age 5-23 and I’ve always wanted to scream “TAG” during this play and I did at home in this situation. Guy was obviously safe, so alright we move on, 2 out guy on second.
Next batter fotf Santana goes deep over the wall in RF.
Should’ve gotten the 3rd out of the inning but I guess the “TAG” play from 1B to 2B isn’t a “unique fielding situation” that this patch is trying to fix.
Let’s get the main fielding issues fixed and maybe someone in future patches the “TAG” situation can work
how about waiting until the patch is live before making the assumption this scenario wasn't included

In my first game, my pitcher opted to not field a dribbler hit to him. It would have been the third out, but instead, it allowed a run, which ended up being the difference in the game. Please do not give the fielders a choice. Free will is not the way to go here.

I've actually discovered if you move your fielder at the last second towards the ball and arriving to ball at last second I verry very rarely make errors anymore maybe 1 every 3-5games well i watch my oppenents struggle in the OF
Hmm. I wouldn’t advise any sudden last minute movements of the fielder if you want to actually make the play.
If you stop touching everything when they get near the ball they usually carry on to make the play successfully. It’s when you’re trying to field a ball on the move or you’re near a wall and they start to do the animation for being near an obstacle instead of the catch animation. Sometimes the game selects the wrong animation and they’ll make an incorrect play based on proximity to the ball.
Yes. This applies to tags as well. If you try to move towards the runner to tag him, sometimes a different animation kicks in and the runner can run right through you and be safe even if you have the ball.
Yup, I’ve recorded clips of that too. Hopefully it’s time to break out the diving catch and home run robbery clips after this patch, I prefer making clips of highlight reel plays to clips highlighting the misplayed balls.
How do you record clips?
Use the share button on your PS4 controller. Edit to add I’ve had zero fielding issues so far in the event. Gallo missed a flyball in left but it wasn’t an egregious example, it wasn’t noteworthy to me personally, like when the ball hits them in the face. If I do see anything blatantly broken I’ll clip it and leave a link here.

SO what im hearing is it better but still not fixed can anyone confirm this

Two games in.... 1 error but that was a passed ball by Sanchez which happens some.... fielding is better so far... outfielders track and catch balls like normal... I think they also snuck in a pitching fix... my pitchers were WAY more accurate and I could actually hit spots with good and perfect timing better than last night (pre-patch) I did notice little “glitch” corrections in locations in mid-pitch a few times which leads me to believe they did a patch for pitching too but didn’t tell us.... so far so good....

But do you start to 'record' before the game loads?
I know I can go into Replay History to view replays and possibly save those. But what I want to do is review a played gamw3, in its entirety, and edit that way.
Ex: I played someone the other day in BR who played like a complete tool. Bunt dancing, stepping off every pitch, calling timeout/pausing every pitch, taking a lead then moving back every pitch, etc.
I messed up on a pitch and left something hang over the plate and he hit a homerun. Proceeded to do the 'replay' and then msgd me running his mouth.
I ended up hitting a 2run walk off homerun and I wanted to send him that replay; but I didn't hit Share Video until after the End of Game screen loaded and it recorded that.

Right. On PS4, provided you’re not streaming your gameplay or in a blocked screen, such as the home screen or an in game screen which could reveal personal information, your gameplay is constantly being recorded. Using the share button will cause the last video to be saved, or take a screenshot.
The best thing for you to do would be to access the sharing and broadcasts menu from your PS4 home screen (Go to settings menu then look for sharing and broadcasts). From here, you can set the actions pressing, holding or double tapping the share button will have, choose the length of video clip to be saved (from 60 seconds to the last 60 minutes of gameplay) and change the format of your screenshots to .jpeg or .png format. There are also setting for streaming your gameplay, for example, on Twitch. Once you have everything set up, it’s pretty self-explanatory. You can find your saved clips in the capture gallery, where you can then edit them further, such as trimming the recording down to a suitable length etc. Hope that helps. -

Seems alright to me, but it’s not like every single play would result in an error on 1.08. Need more time with it to give a detailed opinion, but no issues for me so far having played the event all day. Hopefully it stays that way going forward.

Going to post this here. Let's try to keep all discussion about 1.09 in this thread.
Ball at the wall.. drills my left fielder in the back first game...
-
Just played a ranked game, my opponents outfielder glitched out and missed the ball, he then quit. FYI

I feel like the patch didn’t take long enough to download and install. A patch needs to take at least three minutes to download and install before it makes any significant change to gameplay. That’s just science, folks.
Kinda funny i thought the same thing, servers were only down like 3mins lmao but im tryna remain positive

I played few event games after the patch and fielding still feel weird to me in the outfield...my opponent hit a line drive to Gallo and again he didnt react even tho i was about to catch the ball in the circle...it went over his head...we will see how it goes
That’s probably how they fixed it.

Was he playing Gallo out of position? My experience is that OOP reaction time is slower, even for diamond level fielders.
And that kind of logic is how they get away with their “fixes”
-
People need to realize that just because you still run into issues doesn't mean the patch didn't fix anything. Glitches will still happen because it's a video game and it can't be 100% perfect.

My showdowns were super buggy this morning. I was in a final boss and was server disconnected. Then less than 5 minutes later I completed a moment for a success, but was given a loss when I got back to the showdown screen. https://twitter.com/29Highvolt/status/1253320000170938375?s=20

I didn't see any "fixes" mentioned in the patch notes, only "improvements". I think people are misunderstanding, they improved fielding.

Yeah, l even worse lol. I mean... WTF!?
