Is how I'd expect EA to treat it's customers but SDS is starting to look eerily similar in my eyes.
This is SDS's very own forum. A direct line to the player base of their game and the silence from them is deafening.
I, and many others, are not so unreasonable that we're expecting miracles at this time but some communication would be a great start that you actually give a cr*p about the game and player base beyond dropping packs to juice revenue. Packs and stubs, by the way, I will not drop a single cent on until I see something from this company that makes me feel like you care about the game play experience. Silence is not the answer.
Throw us a bone here. Give us something that suggests you are listening, care, and recognize there are game play issues. Even MLB players are calling you out on their streams.
Step up your game SDS.
Edit: if you can take time to comment about stupid drops that mean nothing then you can find the time to comment about the game play experience which means EVERYTHING.

The thing is, if you've been on the Madden Reddit, even EA actually does tend to have communication. This is a really bad look for SDS imo. I mean MLB players are streaming nightly for this league and you're telling me you all can't do your weekly or hell even bi weekly stream update because of COVID? That's not how the internet works, SDS.

It's always been like this for SDS.
Interaction on their own forums is something they just don't do.

Well they never said much before about problems they were working on and now they have even more cover. It’s hard to blast them too hard when real life is pretty f***** up right now. My issue is that every year we have problems with the basic gameplay mechanics that by now should be way more polished than they are. It makes me question the level of competency the programmers working for SDS have.

I have no desire to blast them given the current climate. That's not what my post is about.
My post is entirely about lack of communication and acknowledgement that they are aware of issues and attempting to address them even if that takes longer than we want.

No different to any of the previous years that have recently passed us by. SDS to me come across as implying:
“Listen, we’re the almighty developers and should not be questioned or held accountable for anything that’s wrong, although we are happy to take credit and receive applause whenever possible. We do not think our players or their satisfaction is particularly important or conducive to a successful year for the franchise, as history has repeatedly shown there will always be enough idiots around to spend real money on virtual cards that last a maximum of nine months to keep us afloat regardless of the flaws or complaints”
“We don’t provide any firm guidance or instructions on how the various aspects of the game work or highlight the routes to success as there are no consistent methods. The game is basically random. Not random as in simply press X and the game will decide, we have the old “same players are always top of the leaderboards” argument to dispel that. No, it’s random in the sense that you could do the exact same thing ten times and get six or seven different results. It’s random in the sense that there’s no consistency. We can’t ever admit that though, because the community would go nuts.”
“If we made the game entirely input based, all the whiny complainers would simply go on to post incessantly about how top players were always winning 10-0 and the game wasn’t fun. Skilled players tend to spend very little money, as they obtain every card in the game by simply playing. Events, BR and RS can easily provide enough stubs for a player with a good win rate, but the regular guys can’t succeed consistently and they’re the demographic we’re targeting to spend enough money this year - And every year, frankly - So we can’t have them all being scared away early by better players who don’t spend money early in the game cycle when we usually accrue the most revenue from them, we’ve not even had our first stub sale yet.”
“We do read the forums daily and are quick to hand out bans if we deem it necessary and will always respond in a timely fashion if you are having issues purchasing stubs from the in game store, however it doesn’t benefit us to respond to complaints, we tried that and people were rude to the staff, so we told them not to bother any more. We’ll patch the game whenever we feel like it, let them all complain, who cares? It’s the same every year!”
“Worst of all are the non American players, thinking we care if the game plays well in other countries! Listen here you foreigners, when we exclude you from COTW, competitions, giveaways, early releases and everything else, you might want to take the hint - We don’t want you here! Go away! We especially don’t want your complaints!! We can’t really make it any more clear, baseball is for people in North America! Not you!! If you insist on playing the game, despite our best efforts to put you off, keep your negativity to yourself!!” -

See, I remember last year all the transparency we got (not much) was from the streams. They’d tell us a patch was getting worked on or something. I don’t understand the lack of streams because they could just do it from home, but I think the issue is that they don’t know how to fix this or they can’t fix it from their home computers. Regardless, they’re not making a good impression on the community and sucks that we have this going on. Games are being swayed by this and they have not done anything to make us feel like they’re going to fix it.

Them having no streams makes zero sense, this year. Regardless of the COVID outbreak or not, it is exceptionally easy to skype/zoom and do a split screen ordeal and is being done by MLB players and Robert Flores 3 times a week. Unless they actually had an outbreak in the office and multiple staff have been infected, there's no explanation really

Shut up and buy all of the headliners packs!

I actually did. I’ve pulled one headliner all year, Ty Cobb and it was from a standard pack not a headliner. Those packs are terrible for me.

There’s a reason why they don’t do interviews, promote the product themselves, or have any real contact info. Just some middlemen to filter out the good/bad comments.

I agree with OP. Covid-19 is serious. Health and family are priority #1. But companies work-wide are coming forward with how they are addressing the issue. I get it. It’s just a game. But SDS is dropping the ball here by not at minimum joining a livestream with RoFlo and giving us an update on their plans for this iteration moving forward. It could literally be a 15 minute update. If you don’t know, let us know. If you can’t fix certain things because of working conditions, let us know. The majority of us appreciate the game and the work SDS has put into it. I think we just need some questions answered so we are all not guessing and speculating and hoping.

They communicate more about the players Twitch games than anything else.

Yes, that's exactly the reason why I'm not a casual...sorry I don't eat hot pockets and drink Red Bull so I can't play online.
