It’s that time of year again. It’ll be interesting to see how the offseason plays out given the impending lockout. This is my second entry of every free agency signing position by position.

The most interesting thing I've heard, is the Dodgers saying they won't make an offer to Skubal because they are anxious about the impending salary cap.
Since when have we heard of LA worried about salary?

Never. If that's true, then the Mets are lined up perfectly. -

@StinkyMcPooter_XBL Except for those "small market" teams. They act like "big market" teams are ruining the sport.
In reality they are just an example of greedy billionaires.

On one hand, it's understandable that team owners want to make money.
On the other, if you have $100B, eating $50-$100M a year to make a decent team is not a big deal. If you create a competitive team, you will draw fans. To paraphrase the saying: 'If you build it, they will come'.

The Dodgers are probably going to go the route they did with Kyle Tucker, and we saw how that went - short deal, high AAV. They're not going to offer a blank check like they did Yamamoto or Shohei Ohtani and it's basically certain they won't give him 400 million like Boras wants. The Mets on the other hand have no choice but to go all-in and they will offer a blank check, and of course Skubal would rather take that (most likely) than take less security. I don't really see the Yankees making a realistic push for him. He's "trusted his guys" since 2007.

@TheBigPapa55_PSN The Dodgers don't even need Teuraki Sato. The Yanks definitely need him, cause I don't trust Anthony Volpe.
They definitely don't want to tell Muncy: "Hey pack your bags, we got a new guy to replace him." That would be foolish.
