How is the Community Market feeling? (6)
-
@ArcPrime126_XBL you should be fine now
-
@Manu__SDS_MLBTS thanks! I really appreciate it, and all your work on the market and here on the forum. Working fine now. I promise not to abuse it by suddenly becoming a bot who can't identify pictures of fire hydrants.
-
I have had a CC Sabathia card stuck in a sell order since 1:42 PM Pacific time and every time I try to delete that cell order, it puts me in a cooldown. My cooldown has been extended several times. This is totally deflating.
-
You should try from the website and return to the app a bit later

I humbly appreciate and I thank you for the pass. But why does ever other honest player have to suffer. Isn't there a better way that there is minimal suffering. Obviously you can tell I'm a honest player, not a bot or a slime bag third party stub seller or someone who buys from those sites or obviously from my language not a promoter or you wouldn't have given me a pass. There has got to be a way to vet honest players so they aren't caught up in this.
I know you are working hard on this and it's not easy but you have content creators who are pretending to be on your all side and slicing your alls throats at same time by promoting the very sites that are stealing from you. The methods you are using to fight these third party sites are restricting the very honest players that has helped grow this great franchise. All the while content creators use their alt accounts and continue promoting and making money that should b going into SDS's pockets and the content creators keep going as nothing ever happened. Meanwhile the honest players are burdened with the brunt of restrictions and cool downs that are meant not to eradicate the bots but merely slow them down.
I am humbly and truly sorry for how my frustrations has come out. Your loyal paying customers that stand by SDS through the highs and lows year in and year out truly do deserve better then being treated as a bot. I would have to venture to say for every 1 dishonest player that uses scripts and bots there are at least 100 honest players playing this great game abiding by the ToS and not cheating this great franchise!

@Manu__SDS_MLBTS everything has been working great. I ran into that error once or twice but no big deal. I think you have a pretty good understanding of the problems you’re trying to fix here and a good read on data that shows you this filter is effectively working. As always, I appreciate your efforts on attention to this matter.

@DrBear100_PSN dude, he’s trying to help here. He works on the app and that’s it. He sees how the app has been used to exploit the market place and is trying to put an end to it. There’s tens of thousands of dd players trying to use the marketplace and there were bots on almost every card in the marketplace that were preventing players from getting them and or flipping them. A few players may be initially having problems with the app, which was mentioned as a possibility when this filter was activated a few hours ago. You got an error. Noted. A couple others got errors. Noted. It’s should also be noted that I’m not noticing bots on any cards and I don’t see anybody else saying they are either. If you are on the side of the humans trying to play the game, take a chill pill and let him try to fix it. We’ve all been in here bitchein for them to fix this so let’s let it happen. This is great.

How about you try going after the actual companies that are deploying the bots. They aren’t hard to find. Instead of banning, or I guess you’re just cool downing now, the legit players in your market place. Funny the tab to come in here says “Community Market : Buy low sell high”. LOL what a joke that is where is the note that says WARNING buy low sell high unless a bot buys your stuff then you are banned. Destroyed your player base. Not to even mention the actual horrible gameplay

I do agree with you. They need to solve rhe problem with the promotion. As long as there continues to have real world money pumped into the these 3rd party sites which completely exploded because of promotion then these sites will continue to have the resources to find ways to undo the hard work @manu__sds_mlbts has done. If you IP ban the content creators that are promoting then thousands and thousands of followers will be like I don't want that to happen to me and stop purchasing from those sites and those sites will be sitting on a ton of worthless virtual currency and the bots will automatically slow down because why farm when nothing is moving? Is reCAPTHCHA necessary, yes but to have it this aggressive not if they take out the promoters.
You can go after the sites but they are criminals anyways so they'd just shut down the site and slither into the shadows never to be seen again, it'll be difficult.
I definitely don't evney Manu. He's got a near impossible job, hopefully this will succeed.
With that I have said my peace and I promise there will not be another word out of me about this topic. That's my peace offering to you @manu__sds_mlbts.

@Manu__SDS_MLBTS I can no longer buy or sell. I get a marketplace ban when i do one order. Tried 3 times after i started getting the error everyone else is talking about and have received a 15 minute, 8 minute, and currently now a 16 minute ban.
-
@senorcheff_psn, do a full close and restart of the app.
-
@SaveFarris_PSN I did after every ban. Even cleared cache and data after the second one. Still got banned after 1 buy order.
-
My account keeps getting cool downs. I wait the required time limit, and try again, and then the ban doubles. Companion app is broken.

Howdy,
At the moment, this is our best - and likely only - option for restoring fairness to the Marketplace while granting access from the App.
reCAPTCHA, combined with the other safeguards introduced this year, is clearly having an effect. Since this afternoon, we’ve recorded:
- 79,941 invalid requests
- 4,598 allowed requests
- 236 rejected requests
Approximately 99% of rejected assessments come from devices that cannot produce a valid assessment; those devices are consequently blocked from the marketplace. The impact on the Marketplace economy should become visible fairly quickly.
Invalid responses are almost certainly coming from devices we do not want accessing the App. However, a legitimate user can occasionally receive a rejected assessment. Repeatedly retrying after a rejection may be interpreted negatively by reCAPTCHA and further affect the device’s assessment.
The score is not based simply on how quickly orders are placed or canceled. It is calculated from a broad combination of signals.
If you receive a rejection, I suggest:
- Temporarily using the website to give your device’s reCAPTCHA reputation time to recover.
- Searching for
how to improve my reCAPTCHA score on a mobile devicefor additional guidance.
We have a vast numbers of parameter that we can continue to adjust to make this work as best as possible.
Thanks for sticking around and for being patient and supportive!

@Manu__SDS_MLBTS thank you Manu! The app has worked fantastically tonight and you can tell the difference with the marketplace margins. I had a couple of error messages earlier today but after signing out and back in that cleared them. Appreciate all you do!
-
I granted you a PASS, you should be good.
You have logged 13 consecutive (?) reCAPTCHA failures today... -
I googled how to improve recaptcha score. Turn off VPNs - dont have one on my phone. Sign into a Google account - I am. Use standard browsers - using the default that came on my Galaxy s21 ultra. Allow natural interaction - I do. Update your device - it is. Not sure what you want us to do man. Banning people from the marketplace for placing a single order is dumb and has nothing to do with "fairness"
-
Just tried to sell one common card for 11 stubs, banned. What fairness are we protecting?

I have a question about what you consider normal Marketplace usage for a legitimate human flipper. How frequently should a normal player actually be able to use the Marketplace for buying and selling?
I actually only ran into this because I saw your post about testing the new Marketplace filter and wanted to see whether I would be affected.
I hadn't done any flipping or Marketplace transactions for three days, so I simply found a random bronze card and placed a 25-Stubs buy order as a test. That very first order resulted in a 10-minute cooldown.
That's what concerns me. I wasn't doing any high-frequency activity or anything remotely resembling bot-level behavior — I was literally just testing the Marketplace with a single 25-Stubs order.
So what level of Marketplace activity do you actually consider normal for a legitimate human flipper?
I'm not asking for unlimited transactions or bot-level activity. I understand the need to fight bots, but there needs to be a reasonable level of access for legitimate players who use the Marketplace regularly.
The problem is that restrictions like this don't really stop me from flipping — they just push me back to the console. And the console doesn't even have the same Favorites functionality that makes the App useful for managing the cards I'm interested in.
If this level of restriction is truly necessary, then I think the console Marketplace needs to be improved accordingly. The web Marketplace has already become much less practical for flipping after the reCAPTCHA frequency was increased. I've been using the Marketplace for years, and I've seen firsthand how much that change affected the experience, and now the App is becoming increasingly difficult to use as well. If the App and web versions are going to restrict how frequently legitimate players can use the Marketplace, then the console should at least provide the same basic tools and convenience.
Otherwise, it feels like every Marketplace option is gradually becoming more restrictive rather than simply addressing the bot problem. I really hope the goal is to stop automation without limiting how legitimate players are allowed to use the Marketplace.
