Thank you pack -> ban hammer
-
I must say it’s pretty epic how sds drops the free thank you for playing fair pack to everyone. Even the cheaters, then the next am drops the ban hammer to everyone buying third party Stubbs and the streamers promoting it hopefully. Pretty epic justice and use of the ban hammer imo. The bots completely infested the marketplace and were all due to those third party sites. So I find this a poetical sweet use of the ban hammer.
-
Absolutely epic. The violators are going to cry about it but it’s so blatantly against TOS. I was getting so triggered by the CCs constantly promoting sites also. Huge SDS W.
-
Ok, wait. I don’t use social media. Are you saying this HAS happened? Or you think this SHOULD happen?
-
Seeing a ton of crying on Reddit...so yes, I'd say they dropped the banhammer HEAVILY overnight
-
@sarge1387_psn thanks for answering
This is fantastic news! Thank you, SDS for coming thru on your promise to do something!
-
Market seems to have stalled the last few weeks. I also flip diamond equipment but I have all the buyable cards with stubs to spare so I haven’t really tried other than just throwing up sell bids. I think I had five transactions go through this month. SDS eventually cancels my bids because they exceed 15k. I will sell when the market turns I hope.
-
Ecstatic about the bans. SDS shows up in the 9th and crushes one. I would pit IP bans on streamers that promote this behavior and ones that operate stub transfer sites. Stub transfer sites probably be a little trickier because a lot of them are cyber criminals anyways and they'll figure away around it. Stopping the promotion of it would be huge.
-
Agreed. Great start but time to take it to up a notch and get rid of it for good. I’m always shocked to see content creators promoting 3rd party stub sites. How they get away with that is mind blowing.
I give SDS/Sony a lot of well deserved criticism but cheating is cheating and it’s past time for them to step up and clean up those exploiting the game and ruining it for all the honest players.
In my mind if you see someone promoting cheating of any kind it tells you everything you need to know about that person and their character or lack there of.
-
I was wondering if something like this might be coming when they mentioned fair play tied to those thank you packs yesterday, but didn't want to speculate too much. Very nice to see them taking action.
-
Ban em All! Love it! Thanks again SDS for the free pack!
-
Yes, kudos for sure on the free pack. More signs of good will moving forward would be much appreciated. Making the game even slightly more rewarding would go a long way for those of us that have stuck it out thru a rough year.

dun dun

Well, this is why I TRY to stay off X. People are giving me
just for saying this was a great move, and then I had a content creator delete a tweet after I questioned the ethics of doing paid runs for people... only for another top player (I guess?) to jump in and attack me over it. Good Lord.At this point, maybe the ban hammer should remain infinitely dropped on all these cheaters, exploiters, third-party stub buyers/promoters, and people doing WS runs on other players’ accounts. Then maybe the part of the community that actually follows the rules can just play and enjoy the game.

@Bridge-Piece_XBL Doesn't surprise me in the slightest...they're gonna be out for blood, digitally speaking. They're gonna try and remove anything that makes them look guilty, and tweets that pain them in their rightful negative light.
We also know there's a good portion of "top players" that are using additional hardware, so to speak. That's why they get some darn touchy about posts like that

I've been super involved in the community for a few years now.
I was in all of the Facebook groups, Reddit, on Twitter a bit.
My gosh, this is the ONLY place where people aren't constantly toxic.
I just don't understand how people can't understand right vs. wrong. Call me an old head, but ::insert Jim Halpert WHAT IS GOING ON?! gif here:: -

The third party stub buys allowed them that.
I used to enjoy reddit, but it's basically become a gaslight chamber.

lol I am also 39. With a wife and 2 kids. Tried to become involved in the community through various platforms... I left the Facebook groups, I left Reddit. I would leave X but it's how I get my MLBTS and NFL news.

In some cases its time vs money. Pay to win became popular in Asia where work culture is even worse than it is in the states...people don't have the time to grind.
And a lot of online players don't like doing anything but playing with god squads online so will happily pay to skip the grind.
Its like the people that pay for level skips in MMORPGs. Personally the levelling experience is by far my favorite part, but if they want to get the money from those that don't enjoy it thats fine by me.

I havent played in a few days. Have all these bans created a noticeable reduction in botting on the market?
-
@Bridge-Piece_XBL Totally agree, man.
So many of these people were insufferable about it, too, which makes it all the funnier.
