Why grind anymore?

I’ve been playing Diamond Dynasty for years and if you grinded enough, you could eventually earn the best cards.
This year feels completely different.
For me to get Carlos Beltrán would be near impossible without shelling out a ridiculous amount of money.
I added up the cost to complete the remaining collections and it came out to roughly 8.9 million stubs!
I’m not asking for every card to be free. I’m asking for the game to be worth the time.
If someone has completed invested hours into DD, they should have a realistic path to earning elite cards through gameplay. Right now, it feels like grinding has become secondary to buying packs or accumulating millions of stubs.

At this point in the year, there should be better pack odds or more guarantees.
This vault pack in new mini season should be a guaranteed chase OR headliner card, period. It’s August. What are we doing SDS?
The Chase pack in the flash sale. Should have been a “random” Chase pack with a guaranteed Chase OR guaranteed choice Chase pack between two random Chase cards.
I’m sick of getting 85 live series cards in these packs.

I personally play for grind. For the most part, not including the golden “1000 rating” cards everything is earnable or buyable on the marketplace. I have spent very little money overall(Jackie robinson pack, lightning pack to start the year), but I don’t buy stubs. Now granted, I’m nearing 2000 total play hours and while a chunk of that is franchise and rtts, most of it is DD. I’ve had no issues grinding stubs to complete any of the master collections. TA is done for every team, I have completed every event/program/collection along the way since launch and overall I feel like my grind has been rewarded only because of the time I’ve invested.
With that being said, I’m pretty much burned out and play much less than I used too. But still have millions of stubs and every “player” card that can be collected. Sadly the completionist mindset in me won’t let me stop as long as more content is released.
I think a big part of completing everything isn’t just playing baseball games over and over also. If your goal is to collect everything and not spend money, than you have to be prepared to spend a lot of hours on the marketplace, buying and selling is a must do, especially if you don’t have the time to play a lot or aren’t a high ranked player.
This has only been my experience and I respect the fact that everyone plays differently.

@NWOStunna_PSN man I could not agree with this more. We have to start improving these odds at some point or offering more choice packs. I collected literally 100 random headliners packs from the HoF mini seasons. After opening them I pulled zero headliners and four sub 87 LS players.

Look, I have all collections done NMS but that's largely to do with luck.
This year I have grinded the same way I did last year (and had a similar time commitment).
I don't "invest".This time last year I had every card in the game and a surplus of stubs (with very little pack luck).
Now, if i wanted every good card in the game I'd need to find 5.5M stubs (and that's with significantly better pack luck).That tells you all you need to know about how much more predatory this game has become, even in 12 months.

I got a whole LS PCA for my vault pack grinding for 70 hits. Just another unrewarding waste of time.

Im not saying it's not expensive, these are cards you will use for a long time, but if you kept up with getting cards as we went along, it wasn't too bad. If you're just starting now, yes, you need to spend a lot of money. There were flash sales on packs where alot of the cards were around 20-75k.

I play with who ever I get as I progress.
If I chase pitches outside the zone I lose.
If I get to hitters counts i have a shot.
No matter the player.
I hit the same with LS Yordan as I do with his 99.
The coding of the game is not that specific.
Chase no cards.
Just play and enjoy.You will be better off.

This has been an ongoing problem for a while now. Even when the rewards are 'rewarding' they don't feel like it. It's not the 'hell yeah, I done it feeling'. It's the 'thank God that's over with' feeling.
I honestly couldn't tell you the last time this game gave me a legit, Hell Yeah fist pump moment. Which to me are what sports and sports games are all about. -
I spend a lot of time on mmo's when im not playing the show, so the grind on this game doesn't even phase me. You all are complaining about needing a couple months to get a card. Meanwhile, ive got some ff14 achievements that I've been working on for years. You all know nothing about real grinding lol
