Normal swing button and check swings
-
Only SDS can give you a truly definitive answer. But, there has been considerable evidence that MLB 26 is plagued more than previous titles with code execution delays. Many customers have reported this with throws. They press the throw button and nothing happens, then they press it a second time and the fielder just stands there. Only on the third press does the throw happen and by then runners have advanced a base that isn't a natural play outcome.
Why?
Who really knows other than SDS and frankly I'm starting to think even they don't know, else they would have never let it happen in the first place!
My guess is that as SDS adds more and more layers of code the engine is getting jammed up, like gears that need a good alcohol cleaning to get the gum out.

That's really unfortunate. I hope that SDS will see this tread and topic. We'd appreciate a formal response to see if there is anything they can do or if a stopgap measure exists to combat the issue. A normal swing input should always work no matter what...I will say though...its obviously very tender to the touch. I've had tons of moments when I barely touch the button and a full swing animation occurs. It should just be a check swing or no swing should happen. Am I right? Wild times...very frustrating when you're trying to win. Franchise or DD...makes no difference.

Still having the hit button issues with a normal swing. It doesn't make sense. SDS please help! Do something about this! Its a new remote so its uncalled for...the button has no issue anywhere else.
-
Just submitted a ticket twice on this issue. Lets go SDS! Make this right please. No chance I am the only one dealing with this...I'm not a monster or some phenomenon thats mastered check swings.

The Show seems to be a lot more sensitive to button issues that never appear while playing other games.
I have had this issue several times and when I switch to a new controller it stops. It has to be the check swing mechanic. Instead of just registering the button press they are either timing it or checking pressure? Who knows the cause but it is definitely a thing, at least on PS5 Controllers

I feel like the check swing is in there as a novelty type thing. Like you had a swing and a miss, but the game is like, here's a check swing to mix it up a bit. You were never going to hit it anyways, but I don't know. That's just based off of what I see as the result of the check swing, that I was out in front of it or something.

It is the PS5 controllers that are causing it. I have 3 controllers that do the same thing, and 1 did it brand new. I changed the hitting to the R1 lever instead and corrected it. PS5 controllers are poor quality. I dealt with this same thing for 3
years before I narrowed it down. -
Jesus! So I either change the button interface or change the remote? Even though this remote and the entire system are not even a year old yet. It will be a year in December. Christmas time. Thank you for your input everyone.

@Messiah_Ortiz_84_MLBTS same for me too bro *by far the most frustrating event that happens in any game that make me want to Chuck my controller through the wall. Would rather die 20 times in cod then get another check swing on a perfect perfect! Gotta love the show! Let's go boys!

@PriorFir4383355_XBL SDS may just be the laziest copy and paste every year game "developers" I've seen. I mean Pulse Pounder. 3 years in a row they can't just fix one word? They can't change away to home? It's laughable - there are many other ones but hey I'm not a complainer.
-- nba 2k is another company that makes millions off of a game we are buying sometime up to 100$ and more and it's the exact same game as nba 2k 23 minus a few - irrelevant changes. My mlb the show 23 has virtually it's it's the same thing as the 24 25 and 26 it's just maybe one or two game changes Maybe-and other stuff most people don't really care about. (imo)
