I guess its safe to assume

YFK and True Business Review should have been instant bans
One for blatantly using the exploit on video, the other for spreading it while it was ongoing. -
Yeah. I'm no whale by any means, but I am 1 less person who would potentially get the game. My son as well probably.
I'm sure we won't be alone. -
Yeah, if nothing is done PUBLICLY and LOUDLY, I’m leaning toward taking (at least) a year off myself.
Like others have said, I’m one person, but hey, it’s all I can do….
-
Add me and my 2 yearly copies to that list.
Before anyone starts to celebrate...
I'll still come here to share my abundance of knowledge and winning personality.
-
There is a 5% chance that I come back next year. I need to see real changes from SDS for next years game, but i'm not holding my breath.
-
Nothing happened to TRod from what I can tell and he was openly on his stream getting massive rewards from doing it. No need to search a database on him.
I'm still 100% on buying the game next year; however, I'm not sure how much time I'll dedicate to DD. DD definitely needs some adjustments.
-
No one truly expected them to follow through on their promises regarding the exploit, right?
It was all about appearing to be doing something rather than actually doing something.
-
SDS isn’t doing anything because they are afraid of the backlash against them from from YFK’s followers and other large content creators followers. I will say there are a lot of good honest streamers that won’t cheat this game to take advantage but at the same time SDS has bended the knee to please these large streamers who say they speak for the entire community. Whining about exit velocity and thinking every hit should be a hr or 110 exit velocity. Complaining about shrinkage when in real baseball a slider thrown off the plate is one of the hardest balls to hit.
-
the only ones who were punished for the WBC exploit were those who were honest enough to not participate in it.
God d@mn right. It's definitely going to play into my decision for next year. The optics this year for SDS have been...well to say "less than favourable" would be putting it lightly
-
This is the point in this thread where @sds_joek_psn steps in and says, “can’t say much, but still working on it, look for it soon”…..
A person can hope, right?

-
@x-814-x-MAFIA-x_PSN nope and now he's openly pushing 3rd party stubs, but they'll ban people on the boards for calling them out. They'll ban anyone of us for using that 3rd party stubs. Also remember when Digital Champion called out Ashley and got banned (he should have, i like DC but it was over the top). Over the past few months YFK has been 1000x worse and they've done nothing. @sds_joek_psn why is it that SDS is afraid of YFK? or is he right about all of you?
Incoming my 7 day ban.
-
@sds_joek_psn why is it that SDS is afraid of YFK?
I don think it's him in particular they're afraid of, I think it's streamers in general. They're afraid of losing the free advertising, because they think streamers represent the majority of players.
I think they're afraid of the backlash that would be broadcast if they do.
-
Who cares? It's a video game with nearly ZERO competitive integrity.
-
I gave up on that a month ago. No way it should have taken them this long to identify those exploiters.
I feel like if their game logs are even in a half way decent database that I could have taught myself how to query it and identify the worst offenders by now. Even with the rudimentary website I can check if a player participated in the exploit in about 5 minutes
I know some people believe that maybe they did quietly take some action but no matter how quiet SDS is there is no way those who were punished would have stayed quiet.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record the only ones who were punished for the WBC exploit were those who were honest enough to not participate in it.
And that is going to be considered by me when it comes time to buy 27
Seems like a common theme in life as a whole these days.
-
@Dolenz_PSN absolutely it will be considered
For the first time since I started playing MLBTS (2007 I think), I'm considering not playing next year. I see all the posts out here every year about "I'm not buying next year, blah, blah, blah", and I think "I'll never get to that point".
I'm getting close.
With the "glitch", then the response by SDS that they were taking action, then the apparent "non-action", coupled with the myriad of problems (market bots, various other glitches in the game that continue from year to year, more monetization, etc.), I might be done for a cycle.
"Might". If you see me here on the forums in 2027, remember I said "might".
But I am thinking about it, which I've never done before.

YFK makes enough money to create 1000 MLB The Show accounts, there isn’t anything they can do about it lol

The fact he can create more accounts isn't anywhere near the point. The fact they (apparently) haven't done a d@mn thing about the account he did use- which they absolutely will know- and the countless others who did the glitch, is the problem.

True. At least if I saw he had a new username while playing, and had to buy all of his cards again, I'd feel better. But I don't think that happened (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Personally I think the exploit is meaningless as most show packs are. SDS has done zero innovation this year and every program is the same, it's a garbage product. I'm a diehard and been playing over 10 years but I checked out 2 weeks ago and won't be back next year. They do zero to address any issues in the game whatsoever.
