June countdown yikes

been a while since I played and saw this new program today and yeah, forcing us to play online is b.s. they got me to try events this year and I'm ok with that but ranked??? no way. I don't even want to touch that mode.
as for ppl in this thread saying PLAY YOUR WAY, it's not been Play Your Way the last 3 years when this new management team took over. When Ramone was the face of the game it definitely was, but it hasn't been since these new guys took over.
Anyway, I use to play this game from release to next release but last 2 iterations I have not since CFB ususally comes out in early July. I'm planning to spend more time again this year with CFB next week and probably not be as dedicated to this game. Maybe I'll do the topps now weekly program (or whatever the new name of the program is now), but that's about it.
It was good timing by SDS to release this screw job of a program to offline players. we now all know where they're coming from and where this game is headed going forward.
Prior to 3 years ago, how were you getting world series rewards and BR rewards by playing offline?
I wasn't. Never touched BR/WS Ranked, nothing online.
I was playing programs only when they gave you the option to finish those programs online OR offline.
Right, so there have always been certain cards you could only get by playing online.

Right, so there have always been certain cards you could only get by playing online.
or buying them with stubs earned by playing offline - NMS
but really never had the need to since I was happy w/ the cards you get offline and never needing to play online.

I don’t have several milestone cards and am missing a ton of mini seasons rewards because I can’t stand playing against the CPU. Don’t have Dominguez, Bichette, etc because I hate doing Conquest.
You don’t see me on here crying about the rewards not being available to me.
I just move on and don’t get the cards. LMAO -
@JenkinMeyer_PSN nothing wrong with being bad at the game bro. At least you are trying. Enjoy yourself. Most online players are cool. We all know how hard the game is. I feel like alot of offline players may just take losing so seriously. Its not that deep. This game is hard! No one judges you. Ive been crushed and ill get a message saying thank you for hanging in there. We know.

Totally get that. Up until a few years ago I never used to play online either. And I knew that meant there were some cards I might not get. I was just asking because you said that up until 3 years ago you could "play your way" and now you can't, but my memory was that there have always been certain rewards earned online only.

I am skipping out because online is full of cheaters, bots and general toxic players.
Since this gets repeated over and over by those that don't play online, I think its worth repeating again that this is not accurate. Its not full of cheaters, bots and toxic players at all.
Cheaters and bots, no. But I honestly get a dashboarder like every 4th game or so. Its to the point where I hit a home run and expect a quit, exhaling when I see the distance pop up and I can keep my stats.

Sigh….. just looked at the “countdown” rewards.
EIGHTY THOUSAND worth of XP that is not available to how I like to play. This will be ANOTHER inning where I do not finish the Inning and get a boss. That makes me 0-4….
“Not great, Bob”.
-
To get the lowest tier reward (and unlock the medium missions), I'd have to:
Pay Nintendo $3.99
Then hit enough singles in a single game to steal two bases.I don't think I like the complete all to unlock next tier thing.
-
@betamax0_nsw I managed to do it, try it
-
@betamax0_NSW u don’t trust urself to hit 2 singles ? Cause stealing ain’t hard in this game.

Me too. I actually played more this past month than most of the months before (but still less than many do) and I am only at 138K
It's gotten to the point where I had to look up who the bosses even were since I know that they are out of reach, There is little chance that I play 2.5 times more than I did this past inning program.
-
I have spun the wheel twice already, and I was gone for 11 days during this inning. I did not do any of the June Program except the fist 20 or 30 stars (not enough to even get Britton). How are some of you still not getting enough XP for the innings?
EDIT: I forgot, I did play 5 event games and got some multiplayer XP points for that. Went 3-2 (one win was an immediate disconnect before the game started, so that doesn't really count). But still, there's like 10 days left in this inning.

Cause stealing ain’t hard in this game.
Honestly, I feel like stealing depends on who has the connection advantage...my 99/99 guys constantly have a 1 second input delay that causes them to get thrown out. I could also just be dogwater at reading the pitcher

I'm a total bot at stealing. I just point to the runner and hit the steal button and rely on the RNG jump lol (I don't steal online unless it's for a mission).

@JDHalfrack_PSN don’t get them started on this again lol.

Don't you get bonuses for playing at higher difficulties and playing online? I know you do for PXP but I am finding straight XP information harder to come by.
-
@Dolenz_PSN you do get more xp for online which if you only play offline you can help offset this buy playing a harder difficulty. You still have to perform online to actually get that xp tho. But it you barely playing game and hoping to get to the boss you might want to switch up your approach. Maybe just play online events. That way you progress but the multiplayer pass and inning pass
-
But it you barely playing game and hoping to get to the boss you might want to switch up your approach.
Not really hoping for anything. I asked because it was asked how people did not make it to the bosses. I was simply wanting to clarify how it worked since I could not find a definitive answer online (or in the game)
If Someone is playing Ranked at Hall of Fame or even playing the CPU on legend then won't they progress down the XP Path much quicker than someone playing conquests and Mini seasons on Veteran? I assume that is why some people don't have it done.
And while this is the first year that I have not earned any bosses in the first half of the season I fully understand that a big part of that is me playing less due to playing other games.
But another contributing factor is that SDS has not given me many reasons to play. I have not played a single game since the Live Stream. The cards in the new program, for me, were not not worth the hassle of playing online and the one card I wanted from Spotlight Program is a rare card in a pack so I know the odds of earning that card through play are very slim.
The last Cardinal cards earnable through play (and not in a pack) were Matt Carpenter on 5/29 and Ozzie Smith and Bruce Sutter on the 5/15. Here's hoping the the Cardinals lone All-Star (probably Jordan Walker) is also not tucked away in a pack.

Getting XP information is stubbornly difficult. I’ve actually started a threat about a month and a half ago trying to get some, and I realized right away no one really knows. The big XP gains I got were not really from my actual play online. I sucked. The XP gains were from meeting certain, minimal requirement of the multiplayer programs.
Just checked: 10000 XP from the event program and 10000 XP from multiplayer.

@Pergo_MLBTS some people expect to turn the game on a couple nights per week, complete whatever program or conquest is new, and get enough xp to finish the entire inning program. They expect everything to be earned thru cpu bashing on rookie.
I get it–they dont want to play online, but if sds structured the game that way than the larger community of online players would leave. Its a numbers thing.
I think they shorted both the online and offline community this year, and people are mad about that.
I for one don't expect [censored]. I'm a 99.98% offline player. I'm a somewhat casual, casual player who is 50k from finishing the xp path. I have 950kish stubs banked. If I don't play play a mode I don't expect the rewards as it should. Thinking otherwise IMHO would be illogical on my part. The only reason why I refuse to play multi-player is because of the constant toxicity. My playing time is very limited during the week, so when I do play with my limited time I choose not to waste my time dealing with toxic scumbags that populate the multi-player ranks. One disclaimer I do know not everyone is a toxic scumbag in multi-player. I am glad they tried something new, did play it heck no, do I wish that they included some more offline stuff, yes. All that being said, I ain't [censored] hurt because it was mostly multi-player (online), I still got Acuna anyways, just without the toxic [censored] of multi-player.
Edit: also forgot to mention, I also completed LS collection, I am 2 or 3 vouchers from Miguel, ways off on Martinez, in 3 or 4 weeks I should be close to Martinez.
