New Mode Ideas

I’ve seen people talk about how they want a new mode posted else where on the forums. So let’s pitch some ideas to SDS on what we as a community think would be a good mode. Let’s try and also keep this topic about new modes. I just feel if we can put ideas in their heads then it just might work!

Offline Battle royale

Online: Salary Cap
Any modes involving theme teams, both online and especially offline. This can support the MTAGA movement.

Theme team mode - wheel spins when you enter a game, and you're restricted to a certain team or theme (only Asian players, only NL west players, etc). You can build these teams ahead of time if you want - if you dont, the computer just builds a team from your binder. If you dont have enough in your binder, you have to play with bronze cards at that position.
This will make WAY more cards useful - so many guys are never gonna make your #1 team, but they'll definitely make your Mariners theme team.
It would also stop every card from being a super-juiced switch hitting diamond. Game plays a lot better when thats the case.

Showdown should be changed and have a leaderboard with a high score and reward tiers given out weekly sort of like challenge of the week. In its current state nobody enjoys it but it could be a really fun arcade like mode.
Every time I finish I wonder how many runs I could get but I only get to swing like 3-4 times and it’s over. It would be fun to try and score 50 for a 20 pack or 100 for a 50 pack. Literally anything would make it more fun.

-Different showdown themes
-Awards PxP
-Score as many runs as you can in x outsrewards for cumulative runs scored, as well as x in one round

I'd love to see them apply the tiers to both Events, and BR. If I had to pick one to apply it to, I'd say BR first- right now it's generally only the top 10% of players that play the mode because that's where the high end rewards are. The majority of players will never touch those guys.
Apply the Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, and Plat tiers to BR...this might encourage more players to enter the mode. In theory, the difficulty to run flawless should stay the same as you're competing against others at your skill level the whole time.

@Sarge1387_PSN but the problem is - a bunch of really good players will tank to a lower tier just like always. Or someone like me who doesnt play ranked but does play BR and Events - you need a way to do accurate placement, and people are always gonna find a way to hose it if they want.

We need a change to conquest I feel the cpu should only be able to take as many fans away as they have. If they have 1-2 then that’s all they can take not 15 that’s stupid. But if they have 15 then they can take up to that but nothing more. I’m tired of having like 40 and then the cpu having 2 and taking half of mine it makes no sense!!!

@Nickc22_MLBTS well, conquest should be a realistic game with strategy - right now, there's no real strategy to this or DQ. Its just grind it out. Make it a real board game where you need to be smart and react to things cpu does.

@rubicante23_PSN Yeah you're not wrong, honestly. Just make it tied to the highest rank achieved that season. That way those guys would have absolutely tank the whole Ranked season in order to stay in the lower tiers, and I don't think their egos will let them do that.
