Speculations for Fridays drop?
-
So, it looks like they re-purposed Joe Mauer from being the collections reward to being the reward for a new "Gauntlet Mini Seasons". Man, I thought mini seasons was already a gauntlet...of boredom.
And who...I demand to know...are these people who want more Moonshot??? This game is already nothing but homers!
-
Interesting. I wonder if the "gauntlet" refers to it being longer, or maybe just the teams are going to be tougher? Maybe they are listening to the offline players who claim there is nothing to do (I am not part of that group).

I think the complaints about nothing to do slowed down when they started adding more regular conquests and mini seasons (and DQ). It was the period in between New Threads and Cityscapes where there was little new content for a month.
Not having offline content sync up with inning drops as well as lack of TA is still an issue though.

@Teak2112_MLBTS I think gauntlet here doesnt mean hard - it just means time-consuming

Yeah true. I assume now the complaints will turn to there being too much to do and it taking too long. Or if its some kind of mini extreme type program, it being too hard.
-
@Pergo_MLBTS the offline players complaining there is nothing to do is the reason we are in this place to begin with. Are you whining babies happy now? Zero to do online, everything is offline now. Kick rocks.
Not one online program besides events and a weak multi player program. Everything else is mini seasons, conguest, over and over and over and over and over again.

Maybe we just start complaining about hypothetical complaints that aren’t actually real and can’t hurt us

Sure, go for it!

The lack of BR programs and always running events has absolutely ZERO to do with offline content.
And almost nobody wants no sell cards in place of other rewards. Putting the cards back in programs where they used to be is something most people would sign up for in a heart beat.
The problem isn't offline content, the problem is SDS insistence on putting card rewards in every mode when they belong in programs instead. If they put Mauer in a program that required a mini season completion OR an online equivalent, then its content for everyone.
Don't put hate where it doesn't belong.
And you have to accept that DD isn't inherently an online mode, which you have tried to say numerous times. The mode is a perfect fit for offline play too. SDS needs to do a better job of having the two types of players live alongside each other without nudging, or even forcing, them into each other's worlds.

I don't agree with all that. I'm fine with a mix of offline and online stuff. I enjoy both at times. I'm also totally fine with just not getting certain cards if there is a mode I don't feel like messing with. At the end of the day there are plenty of cards out there to obtain a variety of ways.
-
@Ditka06-_MLBTS meh, I agree with the idea of having more "online stuff to do" like a BR program.
But...Events is a big "online thing to do" that you can grind away, and they added the wheel for grinding. Im not sure why you usually dismiss Events - it is the very definition of "online grind".
Now, I dont think it should be Moonshot - and I think there should be way more fun restrictions and conditions on Events...but still...
-
@rubicante23_PSN events is not a grind. The event program is usually finished within 10 games played. The wheel is useless when 95 percent of the time you get the worst rewards. You need to play 18 event games for one wheel spin. What are you talking about?

Hey at least the wheel is there now this year. I actually hit the 50 pack last inning. Now granted I made maybe 10k from the 50 packs plus Chase but still - more than I ever got before.
-
@JenkinMeyer_PSN yep mediocrity is perfectly fine. Thank you sds for every little bit you give us. Even though just two years ago we had ranked programs, battle royale programs etc. But thanks for the wheel. And the endless mini seasons grind that took the place off all the great programs we used to have. If this is most everyones mentality. Im getting off these forums. I certainly hope not.
-
@Ditka06-_MLBTS I want a BR program and other online programs too...
But the problem I have with the "give us better rewards" thing is - that just means inflation. That just means Shohei goes for 800k instead of 700.

Dude I have complained all year at their incompetence on things, but today’s drop is better than just the standard spotlight thing. Just trying to find a silver lining.
I enjoy just playing ranked over and over with theme team, I like baseball. At some point we have to realize we don’t need every card in the game, we just need to play because we enjoy it.
Now to that point, they need to fix their bugs that’s a given but it’s been driven into the ground by you me and everyone else
-
@JenkinMeyer_PSN I hear you brother. Im not mad at you at all. Im disappointed in this company. The 100% pure hearted offline players do annoy me though. Just being honest.
-
All I can say is disappointed, since the only part of the whole drop I'll do is the spotlight program, everything else will be no go for me.

Yeah but you have to get over that. People are different, and different skill levels, different amounts of time they can play etc
