SDS doesn’t know how to fix bots
-
It’s been nearly a week since I’ve been falsely restricted on the companion app. I constantly bought silver cards for the gold exchange so I had a lot of movement on the account which is probably why it’s been flagged as a bot. Even though I did this all manually and legit, SDS still restricted my account while market bots remain an issue. I’ve already contacted support 7 days ago and I still haven’t gotten a response. At this point it seems like SDS is punishing free to play players who don’t buy stubs and instead grind for them on the market. They forcibly remove one of the best stub making method for NMS players and then offer no explanation or help in fixing their mistakes.

Everybody knows how to fix the bots. Simply restrict the market to the consoles only.
Nobody really wants that though, except maybe those of us who already only use the in game market.
Most people though want all the benefits the app gives them, including the ability to flip at a volume and speed of a bot. It is that exact flexibility though that is inviting to those who run bots to exploit the system

That’s why a lot of us are good with eliminating transactions on the app. I have zero problem flipping on the console as I have a job that doesn’t allow me to sit around flipping all day on the app anyway. If this solved the bot problem for good the people upset by losing the app for market transactions can just deal with it for the health of the game.

That’s the thing, the software isn’t only limited to the companion app. Cheaters use the same screen reading softwares on the market that they use to cheat online and have AFK DQ n Mini seasons. It reads your screen via a capture card and inputs commands through a digital controller on a PC. This allows them to have essentially a bot which automatically outbids the best prices by 1 stub every time on console. Simply removing the app wouldn’t fix anything, it would just make cheaters find another workaround. They just need to get a better bot detection. Doesn’t help how many cases of false positives they are having on top of that. Just really upset and disappointed with the support I’ve received from SDS after my false positive. I find the market flipping to be a fun pastime when I’m working and for SDS to just restrict me for a week now with no response is upsetting.

I can understand your frustration. It’s one of MANY problems the game has this year. It’s been taken over by cheaters exploiting the game for their own personal gain at the expense of honest players. Coupled with the laziness/incompetence of SDS as a result of either being terribly short staffed or people that simply don’t know how to do their jobs.
It’s a dramatic fall off that has only picked up steam over the past 3-5 years. I have a feeling this year is actively driving away A LOT of players that will be realized next year.
